Ms. Vision By Proxy

Ms. Vision By Proxy

DoraWhat's scarier than an alien that steals your eyesight? How about knowing that they apparently breed? Vision By Proxy: Second Edition gets all tarted up for more mildly disturbing puzzle platforming in Ms. Vision By Proxy, where you play a small chubby alien with a darling pink bow and the ability to steal the vision of the people she meets. Walk with [WASD] and use the [1-4] number keys to swap between any eyeballs you have. The idea is that each character looks at the world in a different way, and changing views also changes the landscape around you accordingly, allowing you to get past obstacles you previously couldn't. You have to do this because our pink heroine's giant eye is too sensitive for Earth, which is why her viewpoint is all fuzzy, and she needs to track down a specific item in each level to build... well, you'll see. Ms. Vision By Proxy doesn't have too many new tricks in her bag, but with more of the clever gameplay you enjoyed before and some beautiful new points of view to explore, she's just as fun as before.

It looks pretty good, but does the loading screen actually do anything except look cute? On the first time around the list of things loading it stopped being funny about halfway through, on the second time around it simply got frustrating since there's no indication of progress...

Am I just not patient enough?

It's funny: as a gamer I should probably be offended by the concept of one of my eyes being stolen, but at the same time I'm amazed by how well they were able to capture my worldview.

Oh wait - don't tell me the pink lady is actually moving forward...

I think I might need a new computer.

Try emptying your browser cache and reload. Something doesn't sound right. It should have loaded without any hassle (the file size is about 11MB, which is somewhat large for a Flash game, I'll admit).

De-eye-tful! Falling off clouds is hard on the knees. I appreciated surprise mecha.

350/350Mb cleared. It didn't even reach the 3 word this time :)

Thanks Jay.

What a lovely game! Innovative concept, well-implemented, cheery graphics, plenty of polish, and a nice soundtrack. Not too easy, not too difficult, and pleasant all the way through. 5/5!

Glad to see a second version of this. Good to see a new batch of eyes to use.

I find one thing particularly interesting...

Out of all seven eyes available to see through (alien, gardener, architect, girl, gamer, anime, sailor... did I miss any?), not one person seems to see the world as it "really is".

But do any of us, SonicLover? Do we at all?

Funnily enough, I was just playing the first Vision by Proxy the other day and wishing for a sequel. Fun game.

Yay! That was fun. Cool concept.

It's so rare to find an original game these days. Pretty impressive. Despite simplicity is great for games, I kinda wish there was more to this game to have replay value.

I actually liked this better than the original. The diversity of views gave a freshness to the game. The Anime view was especially cool.

I forgot to mention that I also enjoyed the

interaction between the Anime and Girl views

. I don't think there was anything like that in the original.
