Cursor*10 [2nd Session]

JayCursor*10 2nd SessionYoshio Ishii (Nekogames) has just released a sequel to his unique, if no frills, self-cooperative game, Cursor*10. The update, aptly named Cursor*10 [2nd Session], offers a whole new set of levels with the premise and objective still the same: You're a cursor in a tower. You have to reach the 16th floor in 10 lives, but your lifespan is rather short.

Sounds hard, right? In addition, all your previous lives are being replayed, in real time, at the same time as you play. You will have to think on your feet and use cunning and puzzle-solving prowess to get through all 16 levels before your lives (and time) run out.

Cursor*10 2nd Session Walkthrough Strategy Guide

  1. Life 1: Hurry to floor 8 and start clicking the 99 box. Avoid the circle with the key in it on floor 6.

  2. Life 2: Do the same as life 1

  3. Life 3: Go to floor 6, wait a few seconds and then move into the pit with the key.

  4. Life 4: Go to floor 6, wait for life 3 to move into the pit, and then grab the key and get out of the pit quickly. Move to floor 8 and help click the box untill its open. Move to floor 9 and unlock the stairs. Head up stairs

  5. Life 5: Go to floor 8, and help click the box, then go wait for life 4 to open the stairs and head on up to floor 12 and keep clicking one of the four arrows

  6. Life 6: Repeat life 5 but pick a different arrow

  7. Life 7: Repeat life 5 again with a different arrow. This life the stairs should open up, hurry to floor 14 and hold the button down

  8. Life 8: Go to floor 12 with the arrows and click on the 4th one to open the stairs even faster, rush to the end and click the pyramid at the top. And you win!.

You may need to do step 2 twice if you aren't a fast clicker.

Oh Noes! Carpo-tunnel syndrome!

Strange... I didn't have to hold down the button on the 14th floor... I actually got it done in 6 cursors... (shrug)

Yea, what's up with that switch thing on 14?

does that little animation at the end there mean a possibly third installemt?

Is there any way other than sheer dumb luck to know where the spike traps are going to be in the pit?

Cool, nice game once again :)
I did beat it on my own, but on deadline time :)
I had left some pyramids to click.

Ah ok I get it.

You have to have a cursor already in the pit to put another one in.

The ending reward is so "That's IT?!?!?" though. Sheesh.

regarding the mysterious switch near the end:

if you go to the first floor, it opens up another staircase down that leads to a bunch of bonus clicky things.

In case anyone is having issues with the text guide...

Tried to get as many point pyramids as I could.

-Tass

The idea has a lot of potential, but there were too few puzzles in the game to make it worth it...

I managed to beat it in five lives, but now my hand is really sore. Heh.

Pretty fun, but I think I liked the first one better. The puzzles seemed more clever in comparison to the new ones in this installment.

>does that little animation at the end there mean a possibly third installemt?

That animation (a ninja) is the main character from the PSP game "Oreike", which will be released later in 2009. Oreike's gameplay is based on cursor*10. Seems like Ishii-san has taken part in providing the idea or designing. You can check out more by clicking that colorful banner under the game.

Is it even POSSIBLE to get all of the pyramids?! I'd love to see a video of someone doing it. I head directly to the 99-click box with my first 3 or 4 cursors just to get the time down for that -- I suppose if I figured out how long the 4 cursors take together, then I could take each cursor off of there (to get some pyramids) by that time. Fun game, definitely.

I was able to get a score of 200. I think this is all the pyramids.

Here's how I did it:

1) Get to floor 8. Click box down to about 60, you don't need any more than that. Start clicking pyramids starting on floor 8 and going down.
2) Get to floor 8. Click box until No.1 stops. Finish getting pyramids down to at least floor 3.
3) Get to floor 6 and die in the circle of death.
4) Grab key on 6, finish box on 8, unlock on 9, go straight to 12 and click an arrow repeatedly. You only need to click a few times, after that start clearing pyramids.
5) On 6, Click a few in the pit of death before spike resets. Wait for key on 9, clearing 9 while you wait. Once open, go straight to 12. Click a different arrow a few times, then go clear 11.
6) On 6, Click a few in the pit of death before spike resets. Wait for key on 9, clear rest of 9 if any left. Once open, go straight to 12. Click a different arrow a few times, then go clear 10.
7) On 6, Click a few in the pit of death before spike resets. Get your last arrow on 12, go straight to 14, hold button for a while, then clear 14.
8) Clear 1. Wait for No. 7 to open down staircase to floor 0. Clear floor 0. If you've optimized the other steps, you should have enough time.
9) Clear 13, and anything left on 14.
10) Clear 15, and win on 16.

Wow... Great game, I can't stop playing it!

I beat it in 5 lives. I could click the 99 box open with one life and I still had a few seconds left. :D

There is a really clever way of getting the key without getting spiked at all. You can even use this technique to get the pyramids in the Circle of Death.

Hit your TAB key and press ENTER to "click" the currently highlighted object. You can almost play the entire game without the mouse.

Now does anyone know how to automate that? It would be nice to have a program that quickly sent those key events to the operating system.

@Noctis Skytower
That would be cheating, Noctis.
