Magneto Syndrome

magnetosyndrome.jpg

JohnBMagneto Syndrome is a point-and-click room escape game created by Juliano Reina. The main character has been infused with the power to control metallic objects. He regains consciousness and his first thought is to escape. It's going to prove a little difficult, seeing as how he's stuck inside a water-filled tube. Using his powers of magnetic manipulation, it's your job to help him make his run for freedom.

Before you start clicking, move the cursor over the objects inside the lab to see what you can interact with. Some things are marked as plastic, a dead-giveaway that you won't be able to manipulate them directly. A large number of other objects you won't be able to move even though they're made of metal.

Magneto Syndrome is billed as Episode 1, so hopefully we'll get another few episodes in the story. Despite its short length, it manages to pull you in to the environment and create a complete atmosphere with only a few game elements. Initially I was just going to sample the game, but once I started I couldn't stop playing until I had completed it.

As a small warning, this game rates itself as 13+ for some language and a little violence and blood.

Go, Play Magneto Syndrome!

Now available, episode 2: Play Magneto Syndrome 2!

Thanks to Gabriel for sending this one in!

I've played this game before. It clearly states when you've done something wrong, and you have to restart. So don't think you're stuck too fast. Although sometimes, you're stuck but haven't really done something wrong... hmmm.

you're stuck when the thingy in the metal cabinet lands in the wrong place (i.e. nothing happens)

Well, that was pretty easy.

i'm irritated by the inconsistency - if the bald man can do some things even though he "can't move," there is no reason why he can't do other things. does that make any sense or do i sound insane?

its fun but too short, there's no need for a 2nd part, just one complete story.

The reason he can do some things, but not others, is because, as John pointed out, he has magnetic brainpower...

My problem was that sometimes I would click on an item then decide that I did not want to use it. However, there was no way to unselcet/put it down/ not use it and I would be then be forced to use it incorrectly and restart.

According to Newgrounds, this is only part 1 of 6.

It reminds me of the Xbox/Gamecube/PS2 game Second Sight. It was nice to revisit that sort of atmosphere.

I'm looking forward to the other parts of it.

Is there any way to cancel a selection? I couldn't find a way to "let go" of an object once I'd clicked on it.

I don't think you can de-select an item.

Great idea, but I didn't like that certain actions could only be taken in certain order. Makes me feel like I'm being railroaded.

Good idea, poor execution.

I can't find the board?

Nice teaser. Really easy, but let's see where it goes.

this game was so easy the first time i played all u need to know is

use scissors, metal boxes in cabinets,a key, acid bottle, and lamp.

You can de-select an item by clicking on it again. Love the game can't wait for the rest.

i don't know how to get the key out of the first cabinet to use it on the second cabinet.

For a game that short why did it take so long to load?

I usually love escape-the-room flashes, but to be honest, this one is pretty crappy.

There are so many flaws it's hard to even start. The clickable objects are almost pixel-sized, once selected you cannot unselect them, there are dead ends all over the place and the whole thing is more a trial-and-error then anything else. Also the game is short, illogical pretty ugly and the solution is unsatisfying.

You're way better off trying to puzzle out those wonderful Haplands than wasting time on this.

solution

use scissors on scientist head
get the key from the scientist pocket
open the metal cabinet on your right with the key
use the metal box to break the glass on the metal cabinet on the left
use the key to open the second metal cabinet on the right
get the empty metal refill and "use" it on the table
shake the metal cabinet on the left and get the acid into the metal refill
"use" the table on the lamp
"use" the temperer to heat the acid
done

This game is awesome. And easy too :)

Would love to just see what this game is all about but it won't load. Argh!

I might like this game if it was only for one thing. IT WON'T COME ON! please help someone. It just comes up with some guy being chased by sharp metalic objects. no sign of a loading bar.

I really want to try this game but I just get a page that says 'soon' with a logo for the game above it. I waited to see if it was loading or something, but nope. Is it down?

The same thing happened to me, Nikki. I really want to play this game so I can't wait for it to come back!

Hey, Jay... Do you have any idea why the game is gone or when it will be back?

Maybe it's a sign that the next episode will be coming soon? *crosses fingers*

ok everyones chatting about the game
but i click on play and i getta black screen with a hooded guy in a rectangle box with magneto syndrome kmin soon written by the side of it

y cant i play the game? anyone know?? im really inquisative about it buti just cant get on it to play *cry cry*

smileXXX

Hey to all u ppl out there there's a 2nd game....does anyone know the password

password: applepy

does anyone know the password to the second one

does anyone know how to do the second one?

where did you find the password for the second one?

=)
I loved this game.
Anyone have a link to the second?

This is an interesting game. That scientist looked very michievious if you ask me. I'm quite happy that he's dead. If I was that guy in that tube I would have broken out of it, got an M4-Carbine, and blown that scientist' brains out. But I have Endless war 3 for that though. Just minus the scientists. I'd rather kill insurgents instead. LOL.

if you move the table under the lamp before killing the scientist he gives you a super dose of chloroform

Does anyone have a link or a webpage of where the third game is, I've played the second one it is kinda cool but what do you do in the third one. And I've tried to go to the Magnetic Syndrome webpage where all the games are and it's not there anymore. So...can anyone help?

ok. i found a link to part 2. here it is.

hope it works!
