Terrain

Terrain is a series of interactive Sci-Fi action-adventure games made in Flash by March De Laurentis.

Terrain GameYour starship awakens you from hypersleep early when it detects an uncharted planet. Your mission is to explore the planet and report your findings back to the Galactic Union. Click the directional arrows with the mouse to move through the environment. Simply click on a target to activate it, or to shoot at it as appropriate. The game understands the context of each situation.

Mixing elements of Flash point-and-click adventures with real-time action elements, March has created a well-produced interactive multimedia experience with an engaging story-telling component. There are 3 chapters currently available, and at least 2 more on the way. First stop, Chapter 1: The Wrong Door.

these games are kickass especially the duck hunt and old version of prince of persia

I feel like an idoit, but i just got to the part right after you get the first pass code, with one arrow and a moving turret, and i can't find anything other than the turret to click on.

I couldn't get past the gun that's hidden in the dark cave. I see it with the infared glasses, but I can't shoot it in time to knock it out.

:-(

Fun game. I bit short. I hope chapter 2 is just as fun. :D

I'm having big problems with the trawl monster. I have the author's description of how to kill the monster, but just can't get it. Any idea of how many shots it takes to get rid of a limb?

"TRAWL MONSTER TIPS:
The crosshairs of your gun indicate where your shots will hit. Remember, you're falling down a deep shaft. Time is short. The best strategy is to first shoot the two
"electric tentacle" stems at the bottom of the monster.

If you don't get rid of these first, the electric tentacles will shoot out and kill you quickly...even when the trawl has got it's rear tentacles around you! Most people die quick this way and they always go..."What the ?" ...so now you know.

Electric tentacles can be shot back to buy more time. After the belly stems are gone, work on eliminating the four arms. You can shoot them in any order but I recommend shooting them one at a time. (Why? Because I couldn't seem to fix a bug where if two or three limbs break off at once...well...it just gets messy. But hey, you learn something new every day. "

Malka, I just click faster with my left hand, so I held my mouse in my right hand to aim and clicked as fast as I could with my left hand. It was a struggle for me too. It took about 5 times before I finally got it. Just wait until you get to the swinging part. o_O

How do you get past the hole in the walkway in the second scene?

Seeing as no one has offered any help, I though I'd go ahead and do so.

To get past the hole in the ground:

You have to hit the 3 rocks over it on the ceiling.

this is a great game, but something you did not note is that it contains very mature content. namely: mild language, strong violence, and a scene of sexuality. just pointing out.

Cheers, garrett, just added the 'Mature' tag. =)

I have tried the hints on the Trawl Monster to no avail. I have destroyed the lower two limbs that let out a stream and then hit the other limbs with no result. Matter of fact I do not even get half way down the tunnel before the monster leaps at me a & kills me. Is there a way I can bypass this seeming impasse?

Hey everyone, Jay I love your site. for those that are having problems with the gun after you put on the radar goggles...

you have to zoom in on the camera (don't worry it won't shoot) and then click on the thing just to the right of the lens. It should freeze the camera, allowing you to shoot it.

In Episode 2, I just shot all 6 of the Trawl Monster's limbs off, and did the stupid "hit the spacebar again and again very fast" thing for each of the last 4. But the guy still just falls and dies impaled on a spike. The game is otherwise fairly well-designed, but this is a crappy sequence.

just hold the space bar down instead of hitting it repeatedly. it goes a lot faster.

totally stuck on bridge with annoying worker bot, have tried everything, cannot get passed without been deaded!! can anyone help? Plleeeeeeeaaase!!

Chapter 3, anyone? I can't get the forcefield down.

nm... just had to get closer.
^_^

To get past the worker bot.

Click right when the bot is facing the other way when it goes to fix the left bridge, there is about one second where you do not see the green sensor on it.

man i hate this, this game wasnt too bad, i liked it, now i have to wait for part IV and V

Gameplay design tip: Don't make the first 'boss' of the second episode incredibly hard to beat, even when you know what to shoot first. It discourages people from playing any further in the series.

Im in chapter two, and call me stupid, Im having a hard time on the part after the trawl monster, with the two bots shooting at you and the xtrememe mode? That hints page confuses me, Can someone give me some help?

When is part 4 coming out? ive been waiting for it over a year like the rest of the people

using a mac, I can't seem to find a way to use the spacebar to hit the trawlmonster. I've given up. No fun dying 100 times in a row. :(

Terrain 4 anyone? When is it coming out

Ok... I don't know if anyone is even bothering with this game anymore, but I am stuck at what looks like an elevator door. When I open it and try to move forward, something with red eyes and fangs leaps out at me... game over "for now"?? Can't figure out what I am missing... Jay, any help?

This game seemed as if it were going be a lot of fun. The visuals, animations, and the beginnings of a cool SF plot line...

Unfortunately, the fun to frustration ratio made this game not at all worthwhile.

Dying repeatedly while trying to figure out which pixel to shoot at, and having to start at the beginning of each level, rather than where you left off, were so exasperating that i just gave up.

A cool concept, but very poorly executed from a playability standpoint. The devs made the difficulty factor far to high for this be even remotely fun.

Skip this one.

Loving this game! Chapter 3

Grapple hook

is kicking my butt, but I'll get it eventually. :)

Wow - 12 tries in a row and can't shoot off both electircal tentacles in episode 2. Maybe PC users can hold down space to generate massive barrage fire, but this doesn't work on a Mac and makes it pretty much impossible - even using one hand to aim and another to click the fire button as fast as possible.

Not fun.

This might seem stupid but I don't get a thing, after the first 2 moves I get to the console and get the card but how to use it?

You don't "use" the card, you just read it.
