Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet

JohnBBased on the James Patterson novels (and the subsequent television spin-off), Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet is a murder mystery wrapped in an adventure game spiced with light hidden object scenes and a few simple minigames. Investigating crimes is the central focus of gameplay, with heaping doses of clue sniffing, murder scene scrutinizing, and some light labwork here and there to keep the story moving along. You don't need to be a fan of the series to enjoy the game, and even if you are, Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet weaves a completely new tale (penned by Patterson) that stays faithful to the original characters' personalities. This time, however, you're in charge.

womensmurderclub.jpgWith each crime you're presented a scene with a small list of objects to find and points of investigation to cover. Not only will you need to grab items, you'll also examine the body and a few key points of interest in the murder scene. The interesting twist is that you play different characters, each with specialized knowledge that will uncover new facts in the case. Everything you discover is catalogued in evidence and information tabs that can be reviewed at any time.

Many scenes come with a simple inventory puzzle that pulls the object finding into an adventure-style riddle. In the first investigation, for example, you must locate items to block holes in a rock so you can capture a key item from a feisty crab. Simple, but an effective diversion from the streamlined pattern of the game. The rest of the game is divided between short dialogue sequences, quick mini-games that are integrated into your investigation, and character specific tasks. Claire, for example, spends a lot of time in the lab mixing chemicals to discover the type of poison used on a victim.

womensmurderclub2.jpgAnalysis: Hidden object adventure games are the new bag, and titles such as Miss Teri Tale, Cate West - The Vanishing Files, and Agatha Christie: Peril at End House set a high bar for aspiring crime-themed games to reach for. Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet comes across as a smartly written, interesting, and altogether fun casual game that divides its focus brilliantly between adventure, mystery, and minigames.

As far as the hidden object chunk of the game goes, items are usually easy to find and a hint system can give you a nudge if necessary. You aren't timed, and mis-clicks offer no penalty, so take your time and use the mouse button liberally. Objects are usually quite small and difficult to pinpoint, but at least your poor eyes aren't sifting through several hundred images to find what you need, just scrutinizing groups of pixels here and there.

Production values are suitably high, with a nice visual presentation underscored by a good soundtrack. The only real downer in Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet is that the uniqueness wears off pretty quickly as chemical mixing, object finding and rote labwork become little more than chores. Click here, click there, fill in the check marks and you're done, there's little challenge and no reason to complete the tasks other than obtaining the information.

A good genre-bender that reels you in with intrigue and keeps you hungry for more.

These find-stuff games are just utterly dull for me, no matter what the theme.

Anonymous May 30, 2008 9:52 PM

Uh.. what happened to the "Enlightenment" post?

[Edit: Due to technical issues, we had to unpublish the "Enlightenment" review temporarily. Look for it to appear again once we get things sorted out. Thanks! -Jay]

Hi Helmaroc - you are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

Have you even given this one a try?

Helmaroc May 30, 2008 10:06 PM

Yeah, didn't get into it though. Sorry, I just think that jayisgames is getting filled with a lot of stuff that everyone seems to like except me! Escape-the-rooms, point-and-clicks, hidden objects, and all the GROW things, I don't like any of 'em. But, I still enjoy checking the site daily. Not like I could stop, hehe.

That's odd. Someone just the other day was saying that there's been too many shmups and platformers and not enough point-and-clicks.

We just can't please everyone all the time here, although we do try hard to provide a wide assortment of the best games available across all casual game genres.

Thanks for your feedback! :)

Should mention this download doesn't work in Opera.

That's because it's not a browser game. xD

What "doesn't work" exactly?

I thought the plot and writing were really great and enthralling... right up until the end. Then I was disappointed.

Why did it end with the discovery of the body? Are we supposed to believe the police said "Oh, the secret society killed the killer, let's go home now"?

There's a certain amount of grind in all these games, but I think there's grind in just about every game, isn't there? Leveling up in RPGs, normal waves in shmups, filler levels in platformers, etc. Basically you just gotta play the games where the grind doesn't feel so grinding.

I gave this one 4/5, because it is innovative and fun, but many times the objects you have to find are SO TINY and aforementioned plot problem.

Hi there,

I wonder if someone here can help me please? I am having massive problems with the glass statues in the Orphanage. I can't figure out what order they are supposed to go in at all!

Any help woul be much appreciated, thank you! :)

hi whatt do you type in the computer for the dirt on donald bit of the chapter

Betty Hall May 31, 2008 2:11 PM

I like (LOVE) hidden object games . . . and don't particularly like all the extra stuff that goes along with it, BUT I could probably put up with it in this Scarlet game has the hidden objects TOO SMALL.....my eyes are old.
Can anyone please suggest a Hidden Object game that the articles are bright, clear and rely on being cleverly hidden rather than small and dark . . . in my opinion small and dark only suggests that the software creator was not very good and was very lazy.

I would be forever in gratitude.

I'm also stuck on the glass objects in the orphanage..
Any help would be fantastic (now officially tired of clicking randomly and hoping i get the order right..!)
It mentioned "Having seen these before?" But..i don't remember seeing them before..?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Glass figures... make sure the hands touch the one next to it. Or at least in same position as hand next to it.

There's a large bottleneck in the gameplay that's only mitigated by having a 'skip' button for puzzles. This is the glass figurine puzzle in The Orphanage level- a series of glass figurines in various poses that you're supposed to place in order.

I tried finding homepages for the developer, Flood Light games, but was unable to. The glass figurines puzzle in The Orphanage level was a terrible puzzle, and a waste of development and player time. There is nothing to work from- no previous knowledge, no hints, only the mocking 'Oh, I saw a puzzle like this once' character comment. You can eventually work out that their arms can touch in sequence, but as the puzzle is randomized, the placement is essentially meaningless. If there wasn't a 'Skip' button, I would have quit and uninstalled the game right there. Whoever thought this was a good idea (Having a randomized, unintuitive, frustrating puzzle that requires 90% guessing and 10% logic, that seems to be only filler) should be smacked upside the head and forced to take remedial Game Design.

Overall, the game spent too much time with 'oh, this is kind of neat for 30 seconds' puzzles, dragging them out far past the point where they were interesting or meaningful. The character-switching means absolutely nothing as there's no character development; It may cater to fans of the books, but, having not read them, I have nothing to gauge this by. There's no meaningful storyline, dialogue, the plot is mediocre, the gameplay is mediocre, and there's nothing to recommend this game as anything other than a time-killer.

Hi, a little help?

I'm stuck in "chapter"/level 6, where I have to find those cigaret butts and I really can't find the last one...now of course I can't remember where I found the other ones hehe, but where have you found them?
Also where is the flute, I seriously can't find it !

Thanks in advance..

susieque42 June 1, 2008 8:14 AM

ive done the figurines but now what? the picture on the staircase glitters but nothing happens when i click it. i found all the items. hmmmmmmmmmm.

Been a while since I played it.. (was a beta tester..)
Glass statues.. just try and see if you can figure out an order for them.. look at the how the arms are positioned.
Cigarette butts.. sorry no help there. been too long :$

I absolutly love hidden object games.. but to each their own ;)

Anonymous June 1, 2008 9:09 AM

I cannot get passed the film reels one in chapter 3. I have them all in the correct order, but i dnt know wat to search for....can someone please help, its driving me mad...Thanks

robinski June 1, 2008 12:31 PM

I'm having trouble in the 2nd (3rd?) investigation where I'm in the father's back yard. I'm supposed to get a blood sample off of a rose bush. I can't seem to, even with the swab.

Help! I'm stuck in Investigation 8. I'm trying to pick up a fluid sample and it won't let me. I've already bought this game and would hate to not be able to play to the end. Is there a special trick I need to do to get the swab to pick up the sample?
Thanks so much.

Betty Hall - I would recommend any of the Mystery Case Files games (if you haven't played them already). For the most part, the objects are clear and rely on being cleverly hidden. My personal favourite is Ravenhearst, but all of them are good. I also find they're fun to re-play.

danielle June 1, 2008 2:27 PM

I've gotten up to the figurines but am stuck..
I tried getting their hands to match up and stuff, and there's no skip button.. any help?

I'm having the same problem as susieque42...level 4. The glass figurines have been arranged, I took a picture of the glass wall hanging, and all the items have been found. The picture on the wall sparkles but nothing happens when I click on it. What now?

g-money June 1, 2008 5:54 PM

use one of your inventory items

To Robinski,
I came up from the bottom and swiped to get the blood. That was the only way it would transfer to the swab. Hope this helps.

For the glass figures start with hat hand up and outand end with hat hand up and out. No hat and hands kinda down in the middle. put the others in place by the hand position starting with hat, no hat and so on.

For the film reels I think you have to do the date. 2002 maybe. I cannot remember.

Now I need help. I am stuck in the same place Holly is. Glass figures done, picture on back wall sparkes but nothing I click does anything. HELP!!!

For everyone having problems with the picture sparkling on the back wall, do you have a picture in your inventory? I seem to remember that you need to use a picture in your inventory and click on the sparkling picture with it.

Betty Hall, have you tried Dream Chronicles 1 and 2? I've played a few puzzle games recently, and those seemed to be the best "hide in plain sight" games, with stuff that was very well hidden in brightly lit screens.

Trish Angus June 2, 2008 3:06 AM

What in the heck do I put in the search engine to find the judge?

Trish Angus:
did u see the comment that was made by the character about search criteria?
something like "I wonder if any judge is linked to the Kwongs"
so....type in judge, and kwongs~~

Danielle June 2, 2008 10:58 AM

I'm stuck on the maze in the back yard and i can't corner jennie's dad. anyone help?

smithereyenes June 2, 2008 11:53 AM

Where do I pick up the specimen on level 8? (This is where the guy is found murdered.)

I'm so confused

Who killed Judge Tso in the end?

tropicalblue June 2, 2008 3:40 PM

When you are trying to swab the dads blood off the thorn, make sure you hace closed the caption box. You wont be able to swab until you have done this.

To catch the dad, just keep clicking near to the gates and she will close them. Eventually you will have to literally chase him into the center of the maze and he will then give you the info.

compufairy June 2, 2008 3:42 PM

The archive words for the dirt on Donald Kwong is Donalds on first line, and Donald Kwong on the next...

... Still playing. Skipped the glass statue puzzle, that wasn't entertaining anymore after 20 minutes...

Anonymous June 2, 2008 5:02 PM

i cant find the "invisible" blood in investigation 8 after the guy gets killed

I'm stuck on investigation 9. I'm in the office and needing to click on a garbage can under the desk to collect a blood sample. But apparently not clicking on it is enough. Am I missing something?

All help is appreciated.

wilmont June 2, 2008 7:26 PM

About the flute and cigarette butts...look along the back of one of the theatre chairs for the flute. One of the hardest butts to find was on the hatband of a hat.

Doniece June 2, 2008 8:21 PM

I really enjoy reading that others have the same questions, so this might seem redundant. The darn light bulbs. Is there a special order? I can't get any to go in. And the KEY?? Maybe my old eyes just can't see it...any help??

Lynette June 2, 2008 11:25 PM

Hi im having trouble in level 8 i cant find a snowflake in one of the locations iv looked all over and ran out of clues before getting to this location any help would b really fantastic.

Splendid June 3, 2008 1:25 AM

Investigation 8, retrieving blood sample:

It's on the desk, to the left of the keyboard. Hold the light there for a couple seconds and it will start to sparkle. Then put your light away and click on the now sparkly area. It will take you to a close up of the desk, where you take the light out again, and the blood shows up green on the keyboard and desk. After that, wave the swab around to grab it-- it took me about thirty seconds and seemed to work when I came up from below the stain.

Figurines: #1 W/hat Rt arm down, left arm up, #2 No hat, Rt arm up, left arm down #3 W/hat Rt arm in the middle, left arm down, #4 No hat Rt arm down, left arm in the middle, #5 W/hat Both arms out front in middle, #6 No hat Rt arm out front in middle, left arm up, #7 W/hat Rt arm up, left arm down

Hope this helps!

Deerfeather June 3, 2008 10:28 AM

I'm stuck very early, trying to remove sand from the victim's hand (and taking fingerprints). I have nothing in inventory, and I looked for a brush or water container on the site, but I found nothing that I could pick up. I even went back to the lab for a tool, but no luck there, either.

Can someone help, please? Thanks.

someone please help me i am stuck on investigation 3 what order do the bottles go in

hi, im stuck on the level witth th coloured lightbulbs , where do i find the key for the diary and what do i do with the light bulbs?

I'm stuck on the film in part4. What do I need to type? I have tried everything posted, but I still can't get it. someone be nice and help me.

For those still stuck on the figure puzzle

below is a link to a screenshot of the solution

Film part 4..

Try just Donald Wong ;) that should give you the info needed

@Deerfather You should have a brush and a roller in your inventory already but only when you're playing as the coroner.

zvezdana June 3, 2008 4:30 PM

I'm also stuck with elusive snowflake on level 8. Where is it?

Women's Murder Club - Level 8 - Make sure the desk is in the "close up" position and use the blacklight on it again. Also see Gamezebo for further insights/spoilers.

I also am stuck on the snowflake in level 8,no more hints. help. the invible blood is on the desk between the monitor and keyboard. you have to click on that area then use the blacklight.

I finally found the snowflake. You know the pictures on the shelves by the wall? it's to the left of the top picture, on the wall. As for the lightbulbs, yes they are in an order, same colors together going from lightest to darkest. I cant remember what color goes where but just keep puting one lightbulb in different places and when its in the right place it will stick. when all the lightbulbs are in the right place, then you will get the key.

Doniece June 3, 2008 10:48 PM

kendra...thanks ever so much...!! I'm headin' back to try that now. I'll try starting with the lightest color. Again...thanx!!

I cannot for the life of me pick up that invisible blood spot. I have tried swabbing it, going up from underneath, and everything else. It is not visible in the close up view even with the black light.....Help!

Wellll!!! You DO use the close up, and then the black light and the blood shows up between the monitor and the beyboard top, not at all where it was in the regular scene. MUCH easier to get it there, lol. Geezzzzz, I must be tired, was expecting it to be to the left like in the reg room scene.

Just click the bag in inventory then click the can, you will get the blood sample, it doesn't "open" Hope that helps !

For Serz:
I used Wong on line 1 and Donald on line 2.

jennifer June 4, 2008 2:08 PM

I tried the numbers posted for the bottle order in Investigation 3 but they did not work. Any other ideas???

ok im wondering does this game have blood/gore?? cause the game sounds interesting but i like literlly almost scream and faint when i see that stuff....*shivers*

Jennifer the easy way to solve the number puzzles is pick one bottle look a the clue and find the numbers that would fit that particular equations and work from there. put those in that order and the look at the clues that have the same bottle number and work out that equations

Just finished the game.. and well the ending wasn't what I expected.. at all.. but in a good way :) The game did make me want to read the books

Jennifer June 4, 2008 10:12 PM

im stuck on level four. i found all the items and matched the glass figues now i dunno what to do. i cant figure out how to go any further

Ninjagermany June 5, 2008 1:25 AM

Hi I am having Trouble in investigation 8 like 2 other people according to the earlier posts. But I couldnt find an answer to their question..so I ask again..can anyone tell me where to find the key to the diary in Investigation 8?

Ninjagermany June 5, 2008 1:27 AM

In level 4 you have to use the Screwdriver (which was in the search list) on the highlighted Picture in the back, then you can enter

PradasMom June 5, 2008 4:06 AM

Confession: I am a gaming addict. I love it! Glad I found this site.

Now, from reading all the posts on this latest Murder Mystery game, I had exactly the same problems. So, I will try to give you a few hints from my experience the first go round. Second play I whizzed through the game in less than an hour.

After finally giving in to the "solve" and "skip" button on the glass figurines, (they were certainly a waste of time) I got completely frustrated after about 20 minutes with the murder victims picture in inventory and the sparkling picture on the wall...FINALLY, I clicked and dragged the murder victims picture up the staircase and placed it to the RIGHT of that tiny picture, NOT ON IT! WAH-LAH a new picture flashed, saying it looked like the murder victim and I was on my way!

The cigarette butts and flute? I only found the last butt because I had to finally resort to the hint button and yes, the last and most difficult butt to find is on a hat band. The flute is on the back rim of a seat in the theater. If I think of anything else, I'll write again! Ciao!

@ Ninjagermany: For the key you have to solve the puzzle with the lightbulbs. And for that puzzle think rainbow ;)

Stuck in level 6:

I found all the objects, have the note with 2 phonenumbers, looked them up. One says it's Dr.Yao's homenumber, the other says NO PERSON FOUND. There is no other location to go to. Nothing else to do in this location. Where do I go from here??

ginnyb, i could'nt do the bottle puzzle 3 either, i used solve in the end, here is the order you put bottles in:

22 19 15 12 1

Hope this helps. Jane

Help? I'm stuck on Pier 50 and I can't find the antique key. I'm out of hints and can't get any further without this last object.

i have a phone number, someother kind of paper and a key. i tried the key but it wont do anything

im having problems in the 8th level i can find an object a snowflake

Connie -
I have the same things but I can't get past Pier 50 to see where/how to use them. Any chance *you* know where the antique key is hidden?

i have no idea where it was. i was clicking on stuff and all at once a key appeared. now if i just knew what to do..

i am pretty sure i have all the rolls in the correct boxes, i can't figure out what is wrong and i can't progress until they are correct and i don't want to resolve to pressing solve

where is the key to the diary??? I finally figured out the last part. got all the bulbs picked up. now i cant find the darn key. help

Each of the rows is a different color. Each column is a different type of item, such as hats, military items, toys, etc. They give you a couple of items to start with so look for a similar item type in a color that's already given to you.

I found that blasted key! my awd - could it have been any smaller??

I am stuck at the microfilm part. I have tried all the suggestions, but I'm getting the message 'to many articles'. Anyone who has gotten past this spot, please lend me a hand and tell what to type. I have put them in the correct spot but nothing is helping
Tanks for taking the time to read this.

Kim -

There are several points in the game where you could be stuck. Try last names of characters you've recently uncovered information about.

Stuck on Level 5....can someone PLEASE tell me where to find the darn umbrella !! Have tried turning up brightness and contrast, but the darn thing is still hiding on me...3 days of looking and I still can't see it !

Kaitlin June 9, 2008 12:12 AM

ok, heres the thing, in #4, u find everything, and then, u click on the honor club pic, but mine wont work. am i to do something else or is it my computer?

HINT for level 4 picture on wall:

Click on your Jane Doe picture in your evidence bag. Now that you have ahold of it, click on the picture on the wall. Remember to click on the wall photo when your cursor is over the wall pic, NOT when you Jane Doe pic is totally covering the wall pic.

HINT for level 5 finding the umbrella: It is tiny and dark, and I had to blow it up with my graphics program. It is here...

There is a bone on the ground. Right above it is a box. On the left side of that box is a picture of an upside down umbrella.

as far as the picture one the wall, you have to match the dead gril pic in your inventory to it

Tammy C.

A Million thanks for locating that umbrella for me in Level 5..don't think I would ever have found it !

Now it's onward to level 6 and more adventure...love this game, hope they do more sequels.

Thanks again....Lee

I'm stuck on Investigation 9...
I've found all the items but the Corn.
Thanks for the help

P.S. I don't have anymore hints...

Anonymous October 17, 2008 9:58 PM

Just bought this game and immediately had a problem. The program was missing a dll file which I had to find and install in order for the game to work. Then after finding all the items in the first part of the investigation, to block the holes where the crab is hiding, my game freezes up. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Just made a breakthrough.

To the people stuck in the maze level 6. Drove me nuts. I'd found all the objects - all crossed off. Found the dragon room & the exit in the maze, then nothing happened even after clicking solve - only showed me pics of the exit & the dragon room.

I backed out, had a look round the restaurant, clicked on everything - & what do you know - I found an object wasn't on my list. Message came up investigation solved.

What the??

This object was in the bottomish left hand area. Black, thin & tall - like an eiffel tower or flute sort of thing. I dont really remember it because it was so random! And I am so sure my list was all crossed out! The designers better fix this game up, raise the bar, if they expect any sequels to sell!

Poppy :)

I am stuck at the beginning of investigation 8. I found all the objects in the police department. Afterwards I found the dead guy in is apartment, looked at the email and found all the objects there but the game tells me that there is still a puzzle to solve and my list says junk mail. Can't find it!!! Going back to the police station doesn't help, cant do anything there.

Please help, I am totally desperate!

You find the junk mail in Qian Gai's appartment laying on the chair left side bottom.
You will need to use the junk mail at the police station at the computer to see how to write the name.

With junk mail, they simply mean: "Reklamesendungen" ;)

Greetings, Kayleigh

I dont get it.

Anonymous December 2, 2008 2:01 AM

22-19-1-15-12 is the order of bottles. I just did it and it finally worked.

amacourtj December 2, 2008 6:31 PM

Hi. I am on investigation 8. I swabbed the invisible blood, but now nothing is happening. I go to the map and there is no other place for me to go except back in the apartment. Am I missing something? Someone please help.... I am going crazy. This has been going on for 2 days and all I want to do is finish the game. Thanks in advance.

I bought this game at a store and finished it in the same night... Does anyone have any recommendations of other games like this? I didn't have to use all of my hints - just a few here and there. I really enjoyed it but now I feel like we spend $20 for me to play for a few hours....

There are any number of great Hidden Object games out there for you to enjoy, but in my personal opinion the Mystery Case Files games are among THE best, and there are five of those to play through (the latest, "Return to Ravenhearst," is great, but my personal favorite would have to be Madame Fate still).

If you're looking to save a little cash, Nightshift Code is on sale for only 99 cents (see the sidebar). Or check out Mysteriez and Mysteriez 2 at wellgames.com. Those are free hidden object games playable online. Not exactly like their downloadable cousins, but good enough to scratch any hidden object itches you may have in a pinch!

Oh, one more note now that I'm thinking about it. If you really like the hardboiled kind of story telling from Women's Mystery Club, you may also want to look into Righteous Kill. I wasn't all that impressed with that one, but there were some similarities in style between that game and this one.

wheres the tweezer in investigation 6??i cant find it..urghh..

I'm about ready to throw this game in the trash. I've signed in twice using different names only to get stuck at investigation 4 both times. After solving the figurines puzzle, I go back to the room and click on the sparkle picture on the back wall and nothing happens. I have two pictures in inventory and neither will stick to the wall picture, and the wall picture opens up nothing after clicking on it. Can't use a hint there, so you just look at the screen until you get bored waiting for something to happen. Would be nice if I'm not doing it right to be able to skip to the next level. This game was a waste of my money.

Good day. Can anybody please tell me where I can find the floppy disk in judge Tso's Office? I'm in investigation 9.

Thanks a lot,

i have no idea where the antique keys is and in which boxs it is?

Sue, I agree. I am stuck in investigation 4 as well. I figured out the figurines, have the light on and nothing. I am not able to click the picture on the wall. There is nothing for me to do. I am confused. Did I waste my money too?

i am on Level 8.i have 2 use the black light 2 find stuff. I dont know? I cant figure out where and what to look for. HELP!

I am SOOOO mad. I just bought the game not even 3 days ago. I finished it and saw the killer and everything. But i thought there would be another killer and a whole other investigation. I am just so mad i wasted 20.00 dollers for a game i played for 2 days.

[Edit by Kayleigh ~ Please take care about your language, thank you.

And as little tip: Before you descide to purchase a game, read the review here on JIG and also the comments of other users. I always do and it helps me often to make a descision about purchasing a game or not :) Greetings, Kayleigh]

Well I know that. I just loved the game so much I didn't care. So I didn't even bother reading about it. Sorry about my language. I am never buying that kind of game again.

help!!! i have tried everyone's numbers for the bottles on level 3, but nothing works. After you put them in that order, does it automatically work? Sooo confused, please help. Thanks!

@terri - Investigation 2/Specimen for Dr. Yao

Right side of the scene, on the round table, you will find an ashtray with a cigar - pick up the cigar - this is the specimen.
The cigar is a puzzle object, as you will use it later again. Puzzle objects are not shown with a hint

Greetings, Kayleigh

thank you so much!

I don't want to sound like everybody else, but on level 8 in Raymond's apartment(Rubys-with the paints) I only need to find "coloured chalks." I don't even know what that is! Nobody has had this problem it seems and I'm at a loss at what to do. Does anyone remember what they did?!!! Thanks.

p.s. There are no more hints left. Wahoo!

Investigation 9:

the floppy disk is under the desk, next to the briefcase, that's why you can't see it straight away.

Hope this helps.

Did you already have had a look at the walkthrough on top of the comments? And if and you couldn't find your answer there, would please be a bit more specific? Where you are? What investigation? What is the problem? I will be glad to help you.

Greetings, Kayleigh

Bottle order on level 3

Help. I just got this game for my Mac and can't get past investigation one. I plug all the holes, but the earring disappears and it won't let me pick it up. It won't let me skip this puzzle either. I am completely frozen here...any advice?

Diana Brom December 15, 2009 9:52 PM

Can someone help me plz? Every level I come to has problems like it won't let me swab the green stuff or I organize the bottles in the right order and nothing happens till I press solve or log out and then back in. If the rest of the game is like this I give up.

Diana Brom - technical issues

This sound like technical issues. When you are sure your computer has the needed system requierments for the game, you should contact the technical support of the webside, you purchased the game. They might be better able to help you :)

Greetings, Kayleigh

Found this game to be entirely too easy. Storyline was okay. Guess that's what I get for being an adult playing a teen rated game. Also, found some of the hunts within missions to be unnecessary.

Clairebear January 13, 2010 11:10 PM

@ JiGuest you can play the whole game free if you have a computer with HP games thats how I got to play the game and also My computer stalled and I did not get to see that last scene .. does anyone now what happened in the end

Hey hey,

I'm really really REALLY hoping someone can help me....
I'm stuck on level 8 at the orphanage. I've collected all the bits and pieces (including the letter from a friend) and fixed together the radiator, but the letter hasn't appeared in my inventory so I can't steam it open. Please help! I'm addicted and don't know what to do!!

Anonymous January 16, 2010 9:20 PM

On the colored light bulbs, you have to click on the inside of the part where the light bulb goes in. It will tell you if you get any wrong because it won't light up.

Anonymous February 2, 2010 1:47 AM

stuck at level 3..i've tried all your order but it didn't work..help me please..i give the order i need to organize..

15: 4th-1st=4
22: 2nd-4th=-7

I've been trying to get the blood sample in inv. 8 to no avail. The blue light showed the blood in close-up mode, but the swab stubbornly refuses to get the blood! I've logged out, started over with a new id and still no joy. I've already looked for the fixes on this site but it just won't work! HELP

@kmccue in close up mode first on the computer, first use the blue light (make sure comment box is closed) then use swab from the bottom up...Hope that helps. Make sure you check out the body too

bikec50 June 10, 2010 9:21 AM

bikec50 June 10, 2010 9:26 AM

The snowflake for investigation 8 is located on the window. The middle window area, on the roof there are 3 lights, directly under the middle one there's a really white area, just randomly click there and I hope you find it.

vitabella20 July 12, 2010 1:00 PM

The chalk in the apartment is on top of the red shoes (bottom left of screen). The floppy disk in Tso's office is leaning against a black case under the desk. Hope this helps.

Where do I find the antique key in investigation 5?

KAthy Jackson -
If you mean the key to the container,

it's on the top left corner of the container.

Does anyone recently (2011 dec) have the solution to the game freezing up as soon as you get to the screen with the crab?
Thanks for any answer. (Vista)
