Weekend Download

JohnBHello there, weekend gamer! Tired of the rest of the week sapping time that could be spent playing games? We know how you feel! Make the most of your weekend by playing a few free games. They won't demand your entire afternoon, leaving you free to kick back and play even more games!!!

technobabylon.gifTechnobabylon - Part I (Windows, 2.9MB, free) - Latha Sesame is both physically and digitally trapped inside her slummy apartment, completely cut off from the outside world. It's your job to help her escape. Technobabylon is a sci-fi adventure game built in the classic style. Use the mouse to point and click your way through the story, interacting with people, objects, and items along the way. It's a short experience, to be sure, but a good one with an almost fully-realized world. Once you finish you can check out Technobabylon - Part II (which is also available for Mac/Linux) for more of the same.

incertitude.gifIncertitude (Windows, 22MB, free) - A nice little puzzle platform game that utilizes multiple rooms, teleporters, and grenades that both destroy and create things! Dr. Borowskistein is conducting experiments on the physics of shadows. The device he's working on draws him into a strange world, however, and he must find his way to the exit in each stage. Trial and error are part of the game, as are very fast reflexes and a little bit of forethought.

Note: All games have been confirmed to run under Windows 7 and are virus-free. Mac users should try Boot Camp, Parallels, or CrossOver Games to play Windows titles, Linux users can use Wine. If you know of a great game we should feature, use the Submit link above to send it in!

Anyone else having issues working out how to download Incertitude?

Clicking the download image does nothing (FF on Windows 7)

Ok, works in IE. Will try and let the developer know if I can find a contact address

I've just finished Technonanylon. Love it! This is so old school. Reminds me of Beneath a Steel Sky. I am waiting for the following chapter...

E314 may be virus free, but it comes with several adware components. When doing the install, I THINK declining keeps them from being installed, but who knows. Still very shady.

Anyone have any information on Relevant Knowledge, the information monitoring software that is apparently included with e3.14center?

The installer was nice enough to warn me about the software, but I'm not certain that choosing "decline" at the prompt will result in the installer not including the monitor in the installation.

Don't bother with Incertitude, you can find other sources to download it on Google, but the collision detection is poor, the pre-menu segment is one of the most annoying things in the world, and the levels are simply confusing.

I can't get past wave 4 in e3.14center! it says something is hidden, but I can't find it for the life of me.

JIGuest: For wave 4 in e314center, you should "unhide" those things that are hidden. If you get stuck anywhere else, try typing "help"

About E3.14center: If your main component is going to be typed commands, make sure 1) they're real words and 2) they're spelled correctly. 'Unhide' and 'canon' were the two I struggled with, until I thought of typing in 'hint'. Also, to nitpick, if your main movement function is the mouse, don't automatically make the game fullscreen then provide no way to change it. It would've been way easier if it was windowed. Other than that it was pretty, engaging, and I suffered no adware.

If you are having problems downloading Incertitude (and don't feel like switching to IE from Firefox) Just type "Incertitude.zip" at the end of the web address from the main Incertitude page. That's the direct link to the download and the same place clicking the "download" picture would send you.

*EDIT* on my last post, it has to be Incertitude.zip *WITH A CAPITAL "I"*

Like Roi I had to find Incertitude somewhere else and agree that it wasn't worth the effort.

In Technobabylon, a large chunk of the left has been cut off. If I resize my screen, it doesn't help. I can't tell what the dialog options are for the Trance Knight thing.

E3.14 apparently arrived with two boxes of useless labelled Facemoods and RelevantKnowledge.

Both have been uninstalled. Firefox now works again.

Although I am a bit ticked off because my homepage has now been set to "Facemoods Enhanced Search". Gonna deal with that now.

the first one doesent work for me, i cant move in the first level

E314 Center should come with a health warning. I had to run Malware Bytes to remove something called 'Relevant Knowledge'

There did not seem to be any option to not install this adware during installation.

I strongly feel this post should be edited to remove this game...
