Weekday Escape

DoraThe Wheel of Time turns, and Wednesdays come and pass, which is fancy why-doesn't-this-have-its-own-TV-show speak for Weekday Escape! This week, elle is tied to some railroad tracks. Or maybe she's stuck in a burning building. ... trapped in a well? In hindsight, leaving our office communications up to a border collie was probably a bad idea, no matter how cute he looks in this novelty tie, yes he does. Regardless, elle's not here, so you got me, suckers. This week! Get Lost Games traps you in a tower, no1game threatens you with disappointing all your fans, and Flash512 gets very, very... pink.

Find The Escape-Men Part 154: Pic-iro Clover PFind The Escape-Men Part 154: Pic-iro Clover P - In this latest from no1game, you're part of a flamboyant green performance group that's found themselves trapped in their own dressing room right before curtain call, and escaping will involve a magazine on how to kah-rah-tay, solving a number of coded puzzle locks, and, of course, finding the series' iconic ten little green men hiding around the room.

Through TimeThrough Time - Get Lost Games' latest is about a young woman who just wants to live her life, and the heartless parents who lock her in a tower until she accepts her arranged marriage, which is a sure-fire way to ensure that your child grows up loving and appreciating you and totally shows up for all the holidays and calls on your birthday. You'll need to get out if you want to avoid a loveless marriage, but unfortunately, your family knows your only weakness... pixel hunting.

The Princess Diaries 1The Princess Diaries 1 - There's no real plot behind this game from Flash512, or even any Anne Hathways, but for some people, all. That. PINK. is going to be reason enough to want to escape, nevermind the fact that it's not clear whether you're a modern princess with WiFi and access to your favourite fan fiction, or one of those old school ones who's crammed into a corset and about to be married off to your cousin to "ensure your legacy". Click around regardless, and try to find a way out!

Welp, I'm stuck in Through Time, and it's not obvious what I should do next.

I have 3 keys, one used on the drawer below the mirror and one that was inside a candle I melted in the drawer with a torch.

I have a jug of water and another one with makeup remover.

A birthday plaque, which seems to need/want some extra lines to make different numbers.

There are also clickable spots on the blank wall, but I can't use the hammer any more and I can't seem to find any hidden doors with water or makeup remover.

So, what next?

Reply

Welp, you're not wrong about the pixel hunting in Through Time.

The story seemed interesting, but I gave up on the gameplay.

There's a hotspot under the round table for a brick with a keyhole, and once you find and solve the bit of paper that comes from another hotspot, the arrow becomes a bit of a compass for a certain moveable brick you totally didn't notice before.

Which is about where I got up to, trying to follow the comments on the Escape24Games website (my alternative when JiG followers haven't quite figured things out yet)

If I was this girl, I would have smashed the window and dived into the pond a long time ago.

I got stuck on the last puzzle in The Princess Diaries 1 and eventually looked up the solution, but I'm still left wondering why that was the solution; I can't see how one would interpret the clues into that answer.

the 10th green man was a bit of a stinker!

the clue is on the business card and you manipulate the flashlight

I counted two references to Japanese idol groups in the EM game. The name of your group is a reference to Momoiro Clover Z, and one of the puzzles refers to another group:

AKB48. (This is not the actual answer to the puzzle though.)

Did I miss any?

Reply

Ok, got something for you catherine:

The cubby opened by the loose brick has a 4 slider thing puzzle in it. The sliders are tied to the HEIGHT of the plants outside, not the number.

A hint for farther in, about a pillar with a puzzle on it:

You don't click the big, obvious lever. You click the next corner you want the lever to travel to.

I'm out on Through Time. Man, that was some awkward interface. I can give some pre-emptive hints since I'm going to be busy all day:

Post-quotes:

To open the door, you need to make the red, pink, and green lines kind of look like the rose picture. Some of them are clickable, moving between two locations, and some are not. You won't know when you're correct, so if you think you're there try the black key and see if it works.

Birthday box:

Do you have the CD? Get rid of that smudge somehow.

Change the date on the box to that number. Click on a line you want to move, then to the empty space where you want to move it.

Behind the torch:

You actually have to manually enter a code here. The box only accepts numbers and it shouldn't be hard to figure out the code if you've got everything.

A little clunky, but I did really enjoy Princess Diaries!

Night Stryke, on the last puzzle clue.

The phone gave you the last puzzle clue - by the colors of the numbers

Though I'm not entirely sure, besides process of elimination, how you'd know Red is 15

despite the hint, I'm stuck on the birthday box on Through Time. I understand the idea, but I seem to be 1 bar short of making it happen. Am I missing something or just getting it wrong?

Reply

PoP indeed.

The 9 does not need a bar across the bottom

Hm. Stumped in Time, because I thought I was getting it?

I'm pretty sure the frog is supposed to be a 0 or an 8 but I cannot get either to work in the behind-the-fire code box

Stuck in Princess Diaries.

I have a bee, a book with scary hands in it, a flaming piece of paper, gloves, chopped wood, a basket for wood, a broken broom, a golden lump, and some glue. I think what i need to do next is get the glue open, I just have no idea how.

rainmist June 10, 2015 2:43 PM replied to nerdypants

Same here: not being able to open the thing is making me crazy.

Also,

did you find a clue to the vases? I ended up forcing them, which took less time than the time I spent trying to find a clue.

Reply
rainmist June 10, 2015 2:46 PM replied to rainmist

Ack!! POP~

If you have already brute forced/ solved the vases, you should have an object which will lead you to TWO items, not just the one obvious one.

@Vox

Frog is definitely 8. Are you mis-interpeting another number, maybe?

7482 IIRC.

VoxPopuli42 June 10, 2015 3:17 PM

@Chris

That's exactly what I used. Is there a sound or any kind of change when code is right & button is pressed?

All I can tell happened is

the chest in the bedroom has no picture in the bottom anymore

Reply
nerdypants June 10, 2015 3:59 PM

Thanks, rainmist! Found the

pin in the bottom of the box.

Reply

@Vox

If you did it right, a panel should open and you get a new item. I just ran through the game again and it worked fine. Dunno what to tell you.

I believe the chest loses its decoration as soon as you find the letter with your name on it.

Reply

Ah yes, I forgot to mention the 9.

The frog is the number

8, since that one worked first.

This game would have been far more enjoyable if it were easier to navigate and find clickable spots.

Once you've found a way into a different room,

you need to click on the pictures and match the quote to the famous person. One is pretty obvious. Click and swap. Unclick afterwards, so your pieces don't swap themselves again.

When you're navigating around down there, you will have to click on the faces again to get to that area.

Click on the place you want the pen to go, trace the picture without going over any line twice.

For the rose,

There is a picture to follow once you've solved the 'house' puzzle.

If you're still confused, make it look like this picture: https://www.facebook.com/escapegames24/posts/10153288517270762

Then use the black key on the lock. If it doesn't work, check your picture again.

Another thing that you might not automatically figure out is that there looks like a picture of a torch that you can click on in the room behind the rose picture.

There is no real, satisfying ending for getting through all of that at the moment.

I know about the phone, but it still doesn't make sense to me.

The numbers the phone gives are 18, 12, 15, 9, 27. The only interpretation I can think of is to go around the phone (which has a layout more like a clock) that number of times, which gets 6, 0, 3, 9, 3 - or bottom, top, right, left, right; the actual solution is bottom, top, middle, right, left - aside from the difference for the middle button, the last two are right/left instead of left/right, which leaves me stumped as to how the puzzle is supposed to work. Then of course you've got the middle button thrown in there, which I assume is related to the clue in the magic book that "red = green - pink", but I have no idea how to interpret that even with the solution. In all, the puzzle still makes no sense to me.

@Night Stryke

You have to add the numbers of the same color (that's what those + signs are for) 11+0+1 = 12 = pink etc.

Reply

In Princess Escape, I feel like I'm nearly done but I can't find one of the gems.

Specifically, the pink one.

The only object I have left in my inventory is the book (and the key it holds).

A bug in Through Time means a puzzle won't work if you've turned the sound off. If you are certain that you have the right answer, try turning the sound on and pressing the button.

anyway walkthroughs yet?

Oh. I'm somewhat color-blind, so I didn't even realize that the numbers on each side of the phone matched in color. At least it makes sense now. Thanks.

From earlier comments, I was prepared for pixel hunting in Through Time, but not for such an extreme level of it.

After also reading the comments on the EG24 site, apparently there is

a loose brick on a wall, and the wall has

several different close-up views depending where you click. I found 3 views, but after clicking EVERYWHERE, I didn't find anything that moved.

With such a pixel-hunty game, I think it's just wrong to both have to find the right hotspot AND guess whether to click or drag.

If we could award separate mushrooms for these games, I'd award a rare 1-mushroom for this one.

Giving up.

Too bad, because it's beautiful, and from reading the comments of those more assiduous than I, it sounds like it has some good puzzles.
