An animated journey across the poetry of the land, Wayfinder by Matt DesLauriers, has calming and contemplative gameplay and expresses our connection with the natural world. You can wander around the beautiful lanscape, explore it and discover hidden relationships and patterns.
Nature balance is endangered and memories of the land are fracturing. Recover the lost fragments to restore the balance. Click and hold the character to move across the landscape and to orient yourself, you can use the Compass. Collect tokens and string them together to form haiku-like poetry and if you need a hint where to find the closest one, the Compass helps you - shows you the direction.
Once you've collected enough fractured memories, return them to the Origin Tree at the centre of the world, and you move to the next stage of experience and bring closer the restoration of nature's balance.
Wayfinder's art is generative, and the code generates different and unique combinations for each player. Each time it runs, it produces a new world. With the beauty of both art and soundtrack is playing very relaxing experience.
Well done. Smooth, thoughtful, artful. Not really a game but more a story that weaves itself. Will definitely do it again as each time will deliver a different poem & thought & mood & feeling. (FYI - Wayfinder would not load for me in Google so I used Firefox.)
a pretty little game! i wonder if the poems are able to be differently constructed? i had a few i thought seemed disjointed :)
Krizpy - yes! That's one of the great things about this. With each new game, no poems are ever like those you constructed before! That's one of the artful things about this game ...the poem lines change depending upon the order in which you discover the tokens, so, there's a myriad of different ways a poem (Haiku?) can be constructed.
