TwinooWhich side are you: right-brain or left-brain dominant? While right-brain dominant people use their intuition and emotions to guide their decisions, left-brain dominant folks are more sequential and time-oriented in their approach. Perhaps you are middle-brain dominant, meaning that you vacillate between the two hemispheres when making decisions. If unsure, you can take this quiz to find out.

Regardless of how you think, there is now a game that pits the two hemispheres against each other in the world's first Mono Multi-Player Game (MoMPG). Created by Zigah, and available on the Tetris1D.org website, Twinoo presents two problems simultaneously that you must solve against the clock. Each side is given a problem appealing to the respective hemisphere's strength, and each side has a 6-second timer within which the problem must be solved by clicking the correct answer. Once a problem is solved, another one replaces it and the timer begins anew. The first side to miss 3 problems causes the game to end.

While the left-brain gets simple math problems to compute, the right-brain has simple color swatches to mix. Neither type of problem is very difficult, and yet switching back and forth between the two may prove painful to some. It's an interesting novelty game that may be even more fun in numbers. Click.

As for which side I am, a score of 13 is right on the cusp of middle-brain, bordering with right-brain dominance. And that explains the confusion I experience from time to time. =)

Now I enjoyed this game but I do not think it is a fair assesment of my color swatch mixing. I think I am very creative person, theatre, reading, rpging, drawing, etc. In truth I would never know what two colors make another anyway... ;) I would like a better creative puzzle to truly match left versus right

How do people manage to get a high score of 800+ and have over 700 of it be for one side? If you don't keep your scores closer together than that the game ends....

I have to agree with the assesment of the color-mixing to be a poor test of the creative aspects of the brain because it overlooks one crucial problem that quite a few people suffer: Color-blindness, which means that those people don't have the ease with which they can observe tonal differnces in the reds and greens.

Well I find this game to be quite bad. The color matching portion isn't correct at all. Red and blue is purple, red and yellow is orange...welp..not according to this game!

This doesn't work real well for people who are colorblind...

You're absolutely right, Dave. I'll admit that it was a poor choice of games at the time, but I liked the novelty of it working both sides of the brain at the same time. It could have been done better, I suppose.

Gya, screw the colors. Math 100% for me! Woo! I think out of all those, I got 1 color right. ~lol~ but yeah, mebbe something that takes some creativity - like pick the longest line? (I hate that) LOL

I'm definitly left brained ;)

Dave - I'm colourblind too. Dammit, red and that other colour make green? Brown? White? What? Dammit. What the heck *is* that colour?

I don't think it's fair to be using colors as a test for creativity either, but I'm definitely right brained. I got two scores - 5-10, and 12-14. I'm very good at math, but I find it easier to mix colors.

The rapid switching required from one side to the other is the main difficulty of this game--if one really wants to measure response time more accurately, then two things should change: (1) switch the presentation so that the math is on the RIGHT and the colors are on the LEFT. This is because the left hemisphere controls the right optical and motor functions, and vice versa. (2) allow keyboard responses, so for instance, "s d f" for the color choices, versus "j k l" for the math choices. Otherwise, the game doesn't measure hemisphere activity at all (even if we suppose that color perception and mixing is a right-brained activity, which it is not).

Owwwww...my head has turned to mush. That hurts....

The colour test seems to be more analytical, I am very confused with the colour mixing, which cause me to be a very left-brain person. I taken the quiz, i got the middle brain. But i am a lefty. so??
