Pixelulsar's retro puzzle platformer Ribbitation might not have even heard of bells and whistles, but it doesn't really need them to provide a tidy little experience either. Using [WASD] or the [arrow] keys to move, you play a frog that can't jump, which makes reaching the flag at the end of each level full of girders and ladders a little more complicated. You (and objects you push) can also only fall straight down, so you need to figure out how to climb, fall, and shove crates to get where you want to go. Complicated? Not really, though it does introduce a few new obstacles as you go, such as locks and keys, and hazardous spikes, but Ribbitation doesn't need to pad itself with a lot of extra content to make an enjoyable little puzzle. And we do mean "little", since the game is only a dozen levels long, but while it lasts, Ribbitation is a solid retro title that's great for kicking your brain into gear.

Over? Moar!
I was completely confused by the last level until I saw that there was dark grey text on black. Someone should look into that.
This was very pleasant -- I am one of those people with relatively crappy hand/eye coordination, and usually stop enjoying platform-type games when they get to the levels where high-twitch precision timing is required. This one doesn't have any of those, it's strictly ingenuity.
I thought I was having a case of the duh until I realized that
you can climb up a ladder partway and then fall off
and, for the last level, that
color locks must be removed in a particular order
Hope that helps you stave off the duhs a little longer. :D
On last level don't forget that..
the second box from left can fall down the ladder as there's no floor line through the ladder.
I liked this. Nicely done and very retro. The two things that bothered me was the
being frozen when a box is dropping (I know that is needed for the traps to work but I think maybe the frog needs to look up in fright with bulged-out eyes so as to explain why he is not moving),
and that grey text on black has got to go! It is not color-blind friendly. It is not visually impaired friendly. It is not player friendly in any way!
order of colors on level 12 PLEASE!
Level 12 key order:
Green, yellow, purple, red
Vague hint on methods:
You'll have to halfway solve most keys *out* of order to get the keys in *proper* order. A lot of duplicate effort is involved.
Pretty cool game. It's just a long as it should too.
