Wecome to PC Tuesday - this week presents action-adventure with pranks On Being Undermined by andrfw!
Gobbor, a goblin, lives with his grandmother nearby mines. That day he decides to go on a quest to the mines but the quest gets out of control right at the beginning. Nothing goes as expected. Gobbor doesn't manage to climb down a shaft as others, he somehow falls down to the bottom. Fortunately he isn't hurt so the adventure can start...will he find a treasure? That fall was the first prank only...
Have a good time with another puzzler!
The mine have set many traps for its visitors in order to confuse them and they are effective, indeed. Invisible platforms, secret passages and running in circles. Keys without doors and doors without keys. Keys lying nearby locked doors, well visible but not accessible, or not fitting the locks. Small shops selling the items you need but don't have anything to pay with. And friends who aren't helpful much.
Gobbor has a lot of running and jumping ahead, and also falling; luckily, he cannot die. Some pits he falls into seem bottomless but don't worry about him he lands like cats do, ready to run further and find another key. The most important door, Looming Gate, doesn't require a key though - there are three dark round holes above the door, missing three balls of light.
On Being Undermined is very well executed action adventure with platforms. Jumping isn't demanding at all and the game is playable for players who aren't good at it, too. Confusing parts of the game aren't overdone to the point of being a nuisance or boring. The game is controlled by Cursor keys (moving around), Z key (to jump) and X key (to interact). No autosave.
