EPICPIKAGUY (Ethan Clark)' puzzle game N Step Steve: part 1 doesn't want much from you. Just counting up to ten. You get much more from it - deep satisfaction that you rescued kittens in troubles and also satisfaction with well done job. Rescuing is not that easy, you need to solve many puzzles to get through and some of them require think-out-of-the-box approach...but try it, please, you are the only hope for them!
In the year 20XX, after freelance explorer Steve succesfully rescued Cpt. Laika's crew (the link to the previous game you find below), and they headed back to Kitten Federation's Headquaters, their ship run out of fuel and crashed into a nearby planet. So, here we go again. Steve must do it one more time!
The main obstacle in Steve's moving around is the limited number of steps. He moves from checkpoint to checkpoint and number of points on each flag signifies how many steps he can make - you can see the number at the upper left corner of the gamescreen. If he exceeds it, he returns to the last checkpoint but it's possible to completely restart a level, too. You can return him to any checkpoint how many times you want and 'charge' the steps again - and this is that think-out-of-the-box approach since several times you need to return to a checkpoint to get through. There are also boxes boulders to push, slippery ice parts, arrows etc. Stars you find in few levels are precious and the effort to reach it is well worth it.
The game is controlled by Cursor keys and has autosave.
Here is the prequel: 5 Step Steve.
have been playing 5 step steve now for 2 days - not only long, but great steps up in difficulty. Best game of its type I have come across for a long time. Not nearly finished yet.
