DoraMuseum of ThievesMuseum of Thieves is the newest spot-the-difference title from the aptly named Difference Games. Based upon the book of the same name by Lian Tanner, it takes place in a very strange museum where, it's said, only thieves can find their way through. In each scene, you'll have to find and click on six differences in order to proceed. Misclicks will penalize your score, while finding differences quickly gets you a bonus. If you're stuck, you can choose from two types of hints in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

After games like Robin Hood from the same developer, it's a little unfortunate that this otherwise lovely game doesn't really feel like it wants to involve you in the story. There is a narrative, sort of, although it's mostly just there as a means to encourage you to dip your toe into the waters of the novel, and in that respect it succeeds very well. Of course, nobody can deny it looks absolutely gorgeous, and if you enjoy difference games you can hardly go wrong with a whopping thirty-two screens of beautiful artwork.

Fans of the genre won't be disappointed by the extremely high quality work on display here, with differences that blend in well with the art. They're subtle, but not difficult enough that you'll find yourself straining for a pixel half a shade darker than the others. Just the thing to cap off your evening before bed, Museum of Thieves is big, beautiful, and definitely worth a look. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I have a book to look into... since when do you have to be a kid to enjoy fiction of any kind?

Quite lovely, I must have been in the mood for something like this.

Nothing seemed unfair, first time through 3,649.

Very nice...quite liked it.
Score...3359...probably not terrific, but I enjoyed the experience.

Forgive the lengthy post, but this game got me revved up to share my opinion :)
The scenes in Museum of Thieves are absolutely gorgeous with so much eye candy, I think I got a cavity

and the atmospheric changes from "light" to "dark" are a nice touch.

It also avoids the common flaw of its genre by making the differences large enough to spot without forcing me to headache-inducing squints. More often than not, I was able to finish a room without the need of hints and usually with a time bonus.
I'd say the only downside is the weak attempt to involve the player in the plot, because the game assumes you're already familiar with the book. As my first introduction to the story, the symbolic imagery felt to me like hearing only half of an interesting conversation. This also turned characters' comments into more of a confusing distraction rather than adding immersion into the eerily beautiful fantasy world so carefully drawn by their talented artist.

I was a little surprised to see the game was rated "G". Parents should note that small children might find the macabre pictures a little frightening.

I really liked the game.
I always hate "spot the difference" games where the last one or two is IMPOSSIBLE to find, but this was just easy enough that didn't happen.
And I liked looking at the pictures.

I like the game, the shifting really awesome. It makes me want to buy the book but I found it too expensive for me :/ .

My fav room is the one with birds and the jail-like. Else the shifts feels like just adding red eyes and skeletons. I wish there are poltergeists or something out from the pictures!

score 3558!

Not bad! Looks good, loads fast, fairly (but not too) easy to spot the differences. But how about some more story? and maybe a little variation in difficulty?

Nicely done. The differences were all fair and not all obvious. The second half of the game was more difficult than the first giving a nice sense of progression. And it was well-programmed: no lagging cursors or bad clicks.
