Monkey GO Happy Madness

When you or I are unhappy, we have to do all the work ourselves. Find something to cheer us up, like going outside, playing a game, making ravioli... but if you're one of PencilKids' monkeys, someone just handles it all for you, and in point-and-click puzzle game Monkey GO Happy Madness, once again that someone is you! In each of the game's 27 levels, your monkey is sad, presumably because things start off with a very bizarre Twin Peaksian flavour and that's unsettling (but awesome!), and it's your job to figure out how to cheer them up by solving a small puzzle. Just click to interact with things, dragging any items from your inventory at the top of the screen to use them, and your cursor will change if it passes over an interactive area. Like most Monkey GO Happy games, Madness tends toward kid-friendly difficulty, so players who demand their puzzles to be stimulatingly challenging may find the pleasantly oddball collection of stages a little too simple. Still, their weirdness is part of the appeal, and while some of them are more pointlessly clicky than they are actual puzzles (eggs and punching bags, I'm looking at you), Monkey GO Happy Madness is bright, cheerful, happy fun for all ages.

Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

Just for Paul, here's a walkthrough.

1.

Put the bow-tie on the cat. Click the tie to, uh, inflate the cat's head until the monkey goes happy.

2.

Move the skateboard. Get the phone and call emergency services. Click the ambulance.

3.

Use the handles to rotate the picture pieces. Note that each handle turns the piece in the *opposite* corner.

4.

Click the dog's tail until sheep start coming out its mouth.

5.

Rotate each bushy-tailed tree rat's, ahem, sorry, squirrel's tail to match the hour shown by the number of leaves. (I.e. 1 o'clock, 8 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 5 o'clock.)

6.

Put the horn on the horse, then click the horse's tail.

7.

Use the arrows to move the robot down to the key in the bottom left corner, then up to the door on the top left, all without stepping on any bombs.

8.

Move the robot underneath where the punching bag can be seen, then click the robot's arm, timing it so it punches the bag as it comes down. Repeat four more times for the other punching bags (each of which comes down with a different frequency).

9.

Click the ladder twice; get the pacifier. Put the pacifier in the elephant's trunk. Click the elephant until it floats up.

10.

Click each animal until each is holding the snack it prefers. (The first animal is a bear, which likes honey; the second is an elephant, which likes peanuts; the third is an ape, which likes bananas; and the fourth is a horse, which likes sugar cubes.)

11.

Pick up the shovel and use it to dig in the spot on the left. Get the shell and give it to the crab.

12.

Open up the diorama completely. (Click the box, then click on each hinged top piece, then click the each tree, the house, and the mountains behind it.)

13.

Remove the tent pegs.

14.

Write out the letters H, E, L, P on the grid. When you get each letter, the corresponding light will turn on.

15.

Get the board and put it in front of the giraffe to bridge the gap. Click the giraffe so it goes to the tree, then click its head to dislodge the egg.

16.

This is the same as level 7, but the arrows move when you click them, so before you start, memorize which color points where: red = up, blue = right, yellow = down, gray = left. (Sorry, I don't have colorblind instructions for this level. The arrows move alternately one space clockwise, then one space counterclockwise.)

17.

Move the ninja to collect five eggs. The most effective way might be to move the ninja to one of the positions where eggs fall, then simply wait.

18.

Move the truck forward, then click the contraption's hose to fill the truck with coal. Repeat until all four cars are full.

19.

Click the wiener dog's head and tail until both are off the screen.

20.

Click the panel above the door until each of the colored stripes becomes a number. Set the corresponding buttons to the correct numbers. (Colorblind: yellow = 3, red= 2, blue = 7, white = 8; yellow = lower left, white = upper left, red = upper right, blue = lower right.)

21.

Get the lever and put it on the machine. Use the machine to play whack-a-whatever-that-thing-is.

22.

Put the monocle, medal, and top hat on the pig.

23.

Open up the diorama completely. (Hinged top right and left, castle wall, three turrets, three flags on top of the turrets.)

24.

Click the skunk so it makes a stink. Get a leaf from the tree and use it to fan the stink towards the skunk's nose.

25.

Convert BAD IDEA to numbers (2149451) and enter those numbers in the keypad (top left = 1).

26.

This is the same as levels 7 and 16, but this time the arrows keep rotating every time you click, instead of just moving back and forth like on level 16. Again, use the colors rather than their position: red = up, blue = right, yellow = down, gray = left. (Colorblind: L L U U D L R D U U R R; U D D L L R)

27.

On this level, you can't interact with anything directly; you have to get the little monkey to do it for you. So when I say "move the bulldozer forward to demolish the wall", what I mean is, put the monkey into the bulldozer. That was scene 1; click the monkey to move to the next scene.
Scene 2: Move the platform down using the lever on the top right. Move the car onto the platform. Move the platform up using the lever. Move the car forward.
Scene 3: Use the lever on the left to move the left platform all the way up. Move the car onto the platform. Move the platform down. Use the level on the top right to move the middle platform down. Move the car forward. Use the top right lever to move the middle platform to the middle, then use the bottom right lever to move the right platform to the middle. Move the car forward. Use the bottom right lever to move the right platform to the top. Move the car forward.

As often happens when these monkeys are aout, there's something fascinating about the pointlessnes and random bouts of evil. And in this set, actually some cases of helpfulness too!

Although nice game again, I do prefer the more quest like games of Happy Monkey. Very easy too this time... Within 5 minutes.

Stuck on level 5 because there's no clue I can see to solve it

@ Gabe, for level 5, two things you need to be aware of to solve this:

1) separate leaves above the squirrels (different number above each)
2) clicking on the squirrels' tails make them rotate, with 12 possible positions.

to solve, you need to:

treat each tail like the hour hand of a clock.

the leaf count above it tells you what hour the tail should be pointing to.

i.e.

1 8 3 5

they all start at 6 o'clock, so you have to click them the following number of times:
7 2 9 11

Except that the leaves aren't interactable for me

Gabe:

It's not the leaves that you interact with, it's the squirrel's tails. The leaves are just the clue. Think the old analog clocks, and match the tail positions to the number of leaves above the squirrels' heads.

I seem to perpetually have issues getting MGH games to load. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't, sometimes it takes reloading the page 2 or 3 times... but today this one won't load at all. Is this a Firefox issue or something else? I did manage to make it work on Chrome, albeit after a few false starts caused by my atrocious internet connection.

Much difficulty in getting this game to load, both here on JiG and on Pencil Kids, using Firefox and latest Flash player.

Hi Leopardmask and Chiktionary,

I know that back in mid July, Firefox blocked Flash Player by default in all versions of it's web browser because of bugs that hackers were exploiting. As far as I can tell that block is still in place.

A quote from an article on the BBC website said:

"Mozilla also gave advice about how to adjust Firefox's settings so Flash would only run with the permission of a browser's user rather than all the time. It said users should only activate Flash on sites they trust."

There was a link in the article to Mozilla's advice on how to adjust Flash Player's settings in Firefox, but I'm not allowed to post it here. You could try searching Mozilla's website to find it, or alternatively go to the BBC's website and search for "Mozilla blocks Flash by default" and you will find the article including the link.

I don't know if this could have anything to do with the problems that you've been having, but I hope it helps.

:)
