The launch of the Mana banking app and checking account means that gamers have another way of making purchases.

Designed by gamers and creatives who have been involved with the gaming industry for decades, Mana is intended to offer gamers relevant rewards for playing games and for their daily purchases.

One of the key ways they seek to enhance gamers' everyday lives is through the Mana app. And one element of this is the ability to make in-app purchases.

How Do In-App Purchases Work?

The premise is simple: gamers are eligible for a variety of rewards, simply for going about their lives as normal. Account holders are automatically entitled to the following:

  • 3x Points for Gaming and Entertainment Subscriptions
  • 2X Points from Gaming Products in the Mana Shop
  • 1X Points for all Purchases using the Mana VISA® Debit Card
  • 100 Points a month for playing your favorite games

Users can earn even more points (plus additional perks) if they subscribe to a Pro membership, which costs $119.95 a year:
  • 5x Points for Gaming and Entertainment Subscriptions
  • 3X Points from Gaming Products in the Mana Shop
  • 1X Points for all Purchases using the Mana VISA Debit Card
  • 500 Points a month for playing your favorite games

The app then allows account holders to redeem the points they've earned against a variety of products, all without leaving the app. The in-app shop means that gamers can quickly and easily redeem points against anything that's available. This includes gaming gear, video games, and gaming gift cards.

Because the purchases can be done within the app, users are also able to use any points as part-payment towards a purchase, and then use money in their account to complete the transaction. It's a really simple, user-friendly idea. And a whole lot better for gamers used to bank accounts that offer travel miles, toasters, and other irrelevant rewards.

What Is Mana?

Mana is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by MVB Financial Corp, Member FDIC. It is a mobile banking app made for gamers that offers a VISA debit card and a checking account.

Users need to be over 18 and a US resident. Find it on the Play Store and iOS.
