Tricky Oh, man. You've just woken up to find yourself in a maze of twisty passages, all alike. Don't worry, though... This dungeon was designed by Eyezmaze, and that means survival depends more on your skill at combining items, rather than slashing orcs. Still, only the toppest-notch puzzle solvers have even a chance of escaping the Grow Maze. Use the [WASD] or [arrow] keys to move forward, and turn left, right or around, as you explore the dungeon. Click the items and machinery you see to pick them up, or manipulate them to affect the doors and layout of the maze. Collect hearts to purchase useful items at Tontie's store. Certain puzzles will require specific items in your inventory. These will then be used in classic Grow puzzles, where items must be clicked in the proper sequence to max out their levels in the usual way. Steer your way to the upper right corner of the map, and sweet freedom is yours!

Play all the Grow games:

The kind of three-dimensional navigation here is unfamiliar territory for the Grow series, and even with the helpful map players may have difficulty orienting themselves. However, as always, success will come in figuring out the proper order to perform your actions, and experimentation is very much rewarded. Combine that with Eyezmaze's trademark colorful characters and quirky animations, and Grow Maze becomes a wonderful place to get lost in, indeed.

General Info
Use the map in the lower right to help you navigate the maze. Hovering over a square with the mouse will show you what's in that square to help you orient yourself with what is where in the maze.

Grow Puzzle #1

Go forward
Turn right
Go forward 2 steps
Turn left
Go forward
Turn left
Go forward and open the first treasure box. You'll receive the ribbon.
About face
Go forward
Turn right, you will see a large sphere, go to it
While facing the sphere, turn right and press the button
Turn right
Go forward 2 steps and open the 2nd treasure box. You'll receive the board.
About face, and return to where you started.
Go up to the hole in the floor with 4 pegs sticking up, and solve the first Grow puzzle. Screenshot. Solution:

Grow Puzzle #2

Cross the bridge and collect the first heart.
Turn right, you will see a long corridor with a hungry green critter sitting on a plank.
Go forward to the end of the corridor
Turn right
Go forward 2 steps
Turn right
Go forward
Turn left, you will see another hungry critter, only this one is pink.
Go forward
Turn right, you will see 3 switches: red, yellow and blue. Note what doors open and close on the map when you switch them on and off.
Flip the blue switch to the down position
Make your way back out of this room and down the corridor to the right to the end where the blue door is now open.
Enter the room and open the 3rd treasure box. You'll receive the stick.
Go forward and press the large floor switch to fill in part of the maze with texture.
About face and go through the red door in front of you to collect the 2nd heart.
About face and exit that room.
Turn left
Go forward
Turn right
Go forward 2 steps in front of the red magician's symbol on the wall
Turn left
Go forward 2 steps
Turn left, you will be in front of the shop. Enter (go forward).
Buy the yellow, green and orange seeds
Back out of the shop and turn right
Go forward 2 steps and you'll be back to the hungry green critter. Turn right to face the same direction it's facing.
Press the button and the door will open
Go forward
You will see another treasure box, go to it and open it. You'll receive the pail.

Grow Puzzle #3

You just made a mousetrap, it's time to catch the mouse.
Go forward to get pushed back away from the mousetrap and turn right
Go forward and click on the patch of dirt to plant the seeds
Now go back to the room with the switches and flip the red switch to the down position. The map should look like this: Screenshot. Note that the mouse can't get to the seeds without passing through the mousetrap first.
Exit the switch room
Go back to the hungry green critter and enter the door opposite it again.
Turn right
Go forward
Turn left
Go forward to see what the mousetrap caught. Take the key from the mouse. Screenshot.
Return to the patch of dirt and click on it to remove the eaten plant.
Plant the seeds again.
Go back to the switch room and flip both the red and blue switches back to the up position.
Return to the planted seeds and get the turnip.
Feed the turnip to both hungry critters:
1. After feeding the green critter, click on the board it was sitting on and place it in the doorway to block the door from closing. This will save you the trouble of hitting that button every time you want to enter or leave that area. Screenshot.
2. After feeding the pink critter, click on the board it was sitting on and place it in the doorway to block the yellow door from closing. Screenshot.
Flip the yellow switch to the down position. This will open a door to another treasure.
Exit the switch room.
Go forward through the blue door
Take the whiskey bottle
About face and exit that room
Turn right
Go forward 3 steps
Turn left
Enter the room and open the 4th treasure box. You'll receive the cloth.
Turn right, go forward and press the large floor switch to fill in another part of the maze with texture. Screenshot.
Exit that room

Return to the large sphere, which is now covered in chocolate.
This time turn left and press the button, a hole will open in the top.
Click on the hole at the top to pour the whiskey in. You'll receive the chocolate cake. Screenshot.
Feed the chocolate cake to both hungry critters.
Now go back into the room where you got the whiskey from and exit again. The critters will now have both eaten all the cake and fallen asleep. Screenshot.
Click on each critter to send them rolling away.
Follow them into the same room where they both rolled into. Screenshot.
Click on them to receive the 4th heart. Screenshot.
Go back to the shop.
Buy the yellow Grow spell book for 20.
Go to the locked cell and use the key to open it.
Enter the cell, then click on the yellow Grow spell book when prompted to do so. Your objective is to turn the man into a wizard as shown in the book. Screenshot.

Grow Puzzle #4

You just made a little wizard. Follow him out of the room and down the corridor to the red glowing artifact on the wall (screenshot), which he will perform some magic on in a sweet little animation sequence. You can now get through to the last quadrant of the maze!
Turn left and go forward through the hole in the wall
Turn left
When the eye closes, move forward 2 steps quickly! Screenshot.
If you didn't move quick enough, you'll be sent back outside. Repeat until you're directly in front of the frozen heart on the floor.
Click the icicles. New ones will form, and one will be directly over top of the heart. Screenshot.
Click the icicle directly over the heart to break the ice and receive the 5th heart.
Get past the eye again and go to the end of the corridor.
Turn left
Move forward

Move forward 2 steps
Turn right
Move forward
Turn right, you'll see another eye with a frozen heart on the floor beneath it, but you'll have to wait to get this one.
When the eye closes do the following steps AS QUICK AS YOU CAN:
1. Move forward 2 steps
2. Turn left
3. Move forward
4. Turn left
5. Move forward
If you were successful you will see a small green switch on the floor in front of you. Screenshot.
If you weren't successful, return to the same spot and repeat the steps above until you get it.
Click the green switch, this will turn off all the eyes.
Move forward and click on the red button, this will send the block of ice to the hole in the floor near the patch of dirt where you planted the seeds. We'll return there in a minute.
About face
Move forward 2 steps
Click the icicles again like you did before to break the frozen heart, and receive the 6th heart. Screenshot.

Return to the shop and buy the fire.
Return to the hole in the floor where the block of ice was sent to. Screenshot.
Click the block of ice to melt it with the fire. You've created a hot tub!
Go forward to the patch of dirt, then about face and return to the hot tub to see the mouse lounging in it. Screenshot.
Click on the sack behind the mouse to get the shamrock.

Return to the entrance door to this part of the maze and turn right to now see a tree standing there. Screenshot.
Move forward up to the tree then turn right (or left) twice to get around to the back. Screenshot.
Click on the cupboard door of the tree to open it. You'll receive the 2nd Grow spell book. Screenshot.
Now return to the cell with the little man.
Enter the cell, then click on the blue Grow spell book when prompted to do so. Your objective is to turn the man into a wizard as shown in the book. Screenshot.

Grow Puzzle #5

You just made a little gladiator. Follow him out of the room and down the corridor, through the hole in the wall to just opposite the black red-eyed monster, which he will battle against in another sweet little animation sequence. Screenshot.
When the animation is done, return to the spot where the monster was initially, with the wall of ice to the right. Screenshot.
Turn right
Go forward and press the red button on the ceiling. The chocolate sphere will be transported to this spot.

Grow Puzzle #6

The sphere turns into a red hot glowing fireball.
Turn right and press the button to have it punch through the ice wall exposing the ice witch. Screenshot.
The ice witch will blow you backwards if you don't act quick enough, so do the next steps AS QUICK AS YOU CAN:
1. Move forward
2. Click the 3 icicles on the left side of the ceiling over top of the frozen Grow spell book.
If you were successful you will receive the 3rd Grow spell book.
If you weren't successful, repeat the steps above until you get it.
Now return to the cell with the little man.
Enter the cell, then click on the red Grow spell book when prompted to do so. Your objective this time is to turn the man into a wizard as shown in the book. Screenshot.

It doesn't quite work as you'd expect, but that's ok. Now return to the spot with the ice witch and watch the final animation sequence.

Just finished playing this one! Very cute, though I didn't think it was as hard as some of his others. I felt stuck a few times, but always managed to find a way forward eventually.

Rhed, in order to get past the...

ice eyes, you need to stand a room away from them until their eye closes for a moment, and then run past. Use this method to quickly travel down the hallways until you see a green... Something on the ground. Press it and the eyes will close permanently.

When you put the bar down in front of the green guy's rolling path... he rolls right over it. There's no penalty for wrong moves.

Set up the colored doors so the mouse can't reach the plant without passing the mousetrap.

You need to make sure the seeds have been freshly planted. If it looks like the mouse ate them, then clean them up and re-plant them, then set the doors as in this screenshot.

After finishing the game, I can't seem to be able to

Walk around the maze to see what changed. I get stuck at the "congratulations" screen without being able to move or click anything.

Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

Carmela, at the "Goal" screen, just use the arrow keys or WASD to move around the maze as usual. If the keys aren't working for you, make sure the game has keyboard focus by clicking on the game screen.

Have you fed them both the cake? I couldn't find a trigger that puts them to sleep, they just seem to do so after you move about and through the maze for a bit. Try going through the different colored doors in the maze. Also try visiting each one of them again, and then come back.

I didn't like this as much as the other grow games. It lacks the same sense of escalation as everything cascades together.
Still, pretty fun, some good puzzles.

Great game as always - I found this version to be *so* much easier to do than normal GROW games where I'm usually using the walkthrough at every step. This time was challenging but not impossible. Loved the sense of humour in it too.

Disappointed that I couldn't move around at the end. All the arrow keys were greyed out, nothing was clickable, and the hearts just continued to spin.

For anyone else having problems moving after finishing, try unmuting the game. It seems to wait until after playing the victory music before continuing, and this never happens when it is muted.

Best grow anything I have played to date. \o/
Usually I grow frustrated with the other grow games because the amount of possible combinations there exist.

Does anyone know if there's like a certain low number of steps that gets you a better congratulations or anything?

What's the lowest anyone's gotten? I've finished it in 252 steps.

Absolutely adorable. I was surprised that after beating the game, I could still wander around to see what had changed.
And managed to beat the mini Grows without the walkthrough and in short attempts.

I somehow managed to get behind the shop by quickly pressing one of the turn keys while buying the last spell book and found a screen behind the shop. The back of the shop has a pink hammer in a bucket. Was this not supposed to be a part of the game?

The best part is you can explore the maze again after you finish!

This is it. This is the greatest thing Eyezmaze, no, mankind has ever produced.

My exact thoughts myself as I got to the end. The sum of human endeavour has been worthwhile.

My favourite bit:

After you finish, if you go back to the room with the two little creatures, they've had a even littler one!

And at the end, the big monster gets to relax in the hot springs with a towel on its head. Even monsters have to have their precious downtime.

i love this guy's work, i really do. i have forced friends of mine who have no interest in videogames to sit down & play his.

but this game has, oh heavens, the very worst controls i have ever seen. i mean, that i have ever seen. ever. for real.

maybe it's a mac problem? cos other people seem to be able to run through this game w/o issue. maybe i cant get used to the weird orientation? i dont think anyone could get used to arrows that never do the same thing twice & only run in a circle. regardless of whichever issue it might be, the controls are so bad on my mac that this is the first of his games that i just cannot play. depressing.

Oh heavens it's not that bad. It's not bad at all. And I'm also using a Mac.

Just remember this: you can't backup (or strafe to the left or right). There's only forward movement. Down arrow does not move you back one space, it just reverses your direction. And like the down arrow, right and left arrows merely change your direction. Once you understand and get used to that, it's a breeze.

When I first started playing I'll admit that it was a little awkward at first. But once I realized there is no backing up in this game, only forward movement, I didn't have a problem zooming around the maze as needed.

had i known this in advance:

i probably wouldve been able to figure it out. trying to play it w/o knowing that just made me exceptionally frustrated. now, i am a little slow right now--i just had very complicated major dental surgery under a local, if you will--so that probably added to my confusion. even so, i would bet you i'm not the only one who absolutely loves eyezmaze games & was saddened early on that they couldnt play this one.

ps. the bit about only forward movement might be in the review &, for reasons cited above, i missed it. that is just as possible as anything else. usually i wouldve paid better attention but sick as i have been i dont even realize when i'm not paying good attention.

i will try it again.

Replaying this for the third or fourth time, and I've just realised

the green alien in the completed maze is the "switch" that turned the eyes off!

If you suffer from old fingers and dyslexia ... don't give up on the weird eyes and ice cycles. It took me a while but I finally made it.

Then after you finish ... go back through the maze. There are some absolutely adorable changes.

What a sweet game.

One of my favorites. One of the few games that evokes a feeling of warmth and nostalgia for me, even though I only first played it 6-8 months back.
