Ahhhh the life of a bachelor, you have your own apartment, you decide what to eat and when, and nothing stands in your way. But then, you get a text from your mom. She's in town and wants to visit. There's nothing wrong with that, you love your mom, but your place is a mess and you want to leave a Good Impression! It's time to clean up and you only have 3 minutes to do this!
The place is littered with junk, empty pizzaboxes, dirty clothes, dirty dishes and what are those stains on the floor? Oh dear, this looks tougher than you first thought. You walk around with the arrow keys and pick/drop items with X. There's several spots in which you can hide the items, but you soon figure out that there are more items than spots in which to hide them in. Those dirty plates for instance, is there a dishwasher? Oh man, you have to clean them by hand. And those stains on the floor require for you to have a rag.. hmm well I guess this shirt will do, you can drop it in the washing machine afterwards.
Not only do you have only 3 minutes to clean your apartment, but you have to sort every item in the correct spot as well. You don't have to, but your mother will certainly go and take a look, and tell you exactly where you've put the wrong things in the end. She'll even give you a score! Good Impression was made in 72 hours for the Ludum Dare 37. Now be a good lad, and clean your room.
Fun!
If you get stuck washing a dish or cleaning the floor
you have to rapidly click X to complete the task.
I tried twice. I got 9/29 items the first time and 19/29 the second time.
Raging Lotus Takeout DOES TOO go in the Fridge!
And the laundry basket seems like a pretty good place to put a half-empty pizza box, at least temporarily.
Just as an FYI since this was really knocking me: there is a trash can you can use out in the hall. If you're having trouble getting out of the room, try going below where you think the door is.
A word of caution: it is incredibly easily to accidentally put something /behind/ the trash can or washing machine and not realize it.
Here's some hints for where you'd need to put some of the harder items for a perfect score:
Slices of pizza
Fridge. Yup, the fridge has nothing in it besides 3 lone slices of pizza. The slice in the pizza box doesn't count for some reason.
Soda cans
Trash. It'll let you put them in the fridge but you'll want the space.
The half-empty pizza box
Trash. It'll let you put them in the fridge but you'll want the space.
The takeout box
Goes in the trash, not the fridge
Clean clothes
Put them in the wardrobe, not the closet. You can also use them to clean messes and they'll still count as clean!
The purple book
In the nightstand
For a perfect run, nothing can go in
the closet or the bed
Oh! and there's one item that I was missing:
There's a pair of pants behind the computer desk
