Computer games and education Does it work?

Often computer games are perceived as something non-educational, especially by fathers. In their opinion, kids can better spend less time at the computer. But this gap in the perception of technology should not affect the desire of children to play in the game because it's a separate world that has become our routine.

Education is a very unbending sphere, challenging to accept innovations and reluctant. The educational environment is not open to them, but it is also impossible to live in the technological world. In an hour when you can pay someone to write your essays, it is three times strange to dismantle computer games, which have so many advantages!

The Nintendo Switch console (console) will be used for teaching in schools in Great Britain. So children will be taught different skills which they will need in life. Video games help build neural connections in areas of the brain, which are responsible for the orientation in space, memory formation, strategic planning, and developing other motor skills. This was found by scientists at the Institute for Human Development in Berlin.

The experiment will involve more than 30 thousand children and over 7 thousand teachers.

The idea of using Nintendo Switch consoles in the classroom was proposed by Digital Schoolhouse, a non-profit organization engaged in the popularization of computer literacy and cybersports. The authorities of the country supported this initiative.

Video games cope with stress better than meditation supplements. The study involved 45 participants. They were first tested in mathematics and then played in a video game or used meditation supplements. Participants who played games felt more energetic than those who meditated.

In the other part of the study, 20 participants played video games after work for nine days. They also reported feeling more relaxed than those who used the supplement with meditation.

The study's authors noted that video games help you relax, get out of trouble, renew your self-control, and learn new skills.

Is it possible to prevent children from using computers and other devices?

Many parents are concerned that regular interaction with gadgets harms their eyesight and disposition and distracts them from what is essential: lessons, extracurricular activities, live chatting with friends, etc. So from time to time, parents take extreme measures: take away smartphones, forbid playing games, punish, and disconnect the Internet. But unfortunately, this approach to the problem can only make things worse. After all, the child, if she, for example, challenging to perform household chores, all the same, will be excited. And then, having come to school or a friend's guest, will still find a way to play and "hang out" on the Internet, both on a computer and a smartphone.

In addition, not giving children smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices can disrupt the process of their socialization. Peers who have such equipment can behave rudely to those who do not have it. As a result, this leads to developing complexes in the child and hiding in themselves.

How do children who spend a lot of time on the computer ensure their health?

This issue became particularly relevant in the coronavirus world when the lessons and extracurricular activities moved into the online space. Besides an adequately equipped workplace, it is necessary to ensure that the child gets up, walks, and stretches every half year (or at least every year).

But what about children who find it challenging to motivate to exercise? In this case, you should try to excite the child and show some awkward moves that remind him of his favorite characters in movies or cartoons. Perhaps, after that, he will begin to rotate himself. After all, his favorite characters do, so he is not forced to get away from them :).

It is also important that children spend more time in the fresh air. In the street, they play a lot of games, play different active games. This positively affects the posture of those who, at this time, can rest from the influence of the computer and other gadgets.

By the way, children who spend a lot of time chatting in the network do not become less communicative. After discussing a topic virtually, they can continue to discuss it just as energetically in a face-to-face meeting.

Safe content = a healthy psyche of the child!

Today's day, unsafe content can run into absolutely any site. For this purpose, there is parental control - a program that limits the negative impact on the child. Thanks to her, you can leave only those sites you think are safe for your children to access.

Of course, children's interaction with the computer can help to bridge he gap. But what to do if the child still wants to play computer games and can not do anything to switch their attention to other activities? In this situation, it is essential to show the child that through the game can not only grow but also develop.
