Dofi, the creator of the World of Sand webtoys as well as many other physics-based games, has just released a demo version of a new title for us to play with: Cat with Bow Golf. The name may sound strange, but that's only because the game is strange. You control a cat with a bow and arrows attached to a rope. Pull back with the mouse, fire the arrows and fling the cat across the screen to try and hit the target on the other side. Just like golf, you want to make it in as few attempts as possible.
There are only three holes to play, so the experience is admittedly short. The physics are smooth and the game has the same quirky sense of fun as all the Dofi games. And I have to admit, making a cat fly through the air by firing arrows has its own little charm.
Remember: this is a demo version of the game, and Dofi admits there are a few bugs that need to be ironed out. We'll update you when the full version is released.

Funny, fun game. Got -3 on my first try. Would be nice to see more of the hole when you are shooting ... and there is something strangely satisfying about making a cat fly through the air attached to an arrow.
Is it possible to get a -6? I keep getting -5!
Very nice, love this one. Short but fun, can't wait for the full version to be done.
(P.S. For a trial version, I didn't personally notice any bugs apart from the title page zooming in on restart. Everything else ran very smoothly)
Even though this is a trial (demo, maybe, since trials usually imply that you need to pay for the full version, and DofiBlog doesn't charge for games?), the concept is hilarious, and I think it will be great after the bugs are ironed out and a full version is released.
(I really hope that the final version has some sort of cat sound effect, as I found myself making a "thrown cat" noise with every fire of my Cat-Bow, and that confused my roommate.)
Oh man, I could totally dig this game in a full version, with like power ups and stuff. However, seeing Dofi's track record, it's likely that the game play will continue to be an incredibly simple concept wrapped in large level complexity. I bet the full version of this will be awesome.

Woohoo, that was fun. :D Thanks for posting this! I'm always looking forward to seeing what's going to come from Dofi next. My best score with the trial version so far is -4. I look forward to the full version; I expect it'll be much fun.
great fun little game
two things:
1, when you overshoot and fall off, I think you should just go back to the beginning of the level, like minigolf, and if you take over ten shots, you just go to the next level.
2. sometimes an arrow would shoot when i didnt release yet

Once I shot the arrow on the third hole and got onto the brown ground and all of the sudden my cat shot all the way to the right way past the edge! He looked like a very long hot dog! luckily I didn't detach my arrow when it happened. :)
Some wierd things.
1. If you fall off the edge, wait a while and look at the cat's arm that was holding the rope.
2. This can be done at any time. you don't have to wait for your arrow to hit the ground to fire another one. If you're about to fall off the edge but it didn't do aything yet, shoot another arrow at the ground. This can also be done to go way up in the sky. Very fun

I used that midair-shoot trick to get -5 easily, after the first few tries. Overall it's a fun game, especially for a trial (beta?) version. Can't wait for the full release.
You can also use the midair trick to travel under the land like Spider-man.

I had a -19! Yeah I rarely ever allowed the cat to touch the ground unless it was necessary. Also knowing alittle physics helps!

My best is -53. I keep getting between -47 and -51. Way fun game though.
My best is -61. We figured the best you can possibly get on this game is -63. I would like to know if someone knows of any other tricks that you may get better than a -63?
best is -60. just cant get any less than that.
Yeah I was stuck on -60 for a while but I got finally got to -61. I actually found a way that the best score I think possible is -64. On hole #9 it is possible to get a whole in one, I have only done it a couple of times. Also on #11 if you get the cat to walk to the end and angle it right then you can get a hole in one on that one too. I just can't get it perfect all the way through all 18....Anyways it is a great way to pass time at work.

Hey, this thing got a nice update!
There are tears in my eyes as I type this. I've only just done the first hole and was delighted with what I encountered. This has got to be the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I'm going to be playing this for a long time. I mean it's a cat..... with a bow....... wow.
