Lori.hWant a unique tower defense? How about one with no towers, no enemies, and nothing to defend? The only thing on the line in Dynergy Games' Cargo Shipment San Franciso is your reputation as a shipping company. Well that's not exactly true. But instead of enemies trotting along a route you have shipping trucks and the towers are warehouses filled with employees ready to load. To be the fastest shipping company out there, your trucks don't stop (unless there is a tasty fast food joint) and your workers have to go to them as they transverse from point A to point B. Place your warehouses in optimal spots for your employees to run out and fill the truck with as much as they carry before trucks pass by going on their predestined routes.

Cargo Shipment San Francisco is not only unique in premise, but in levels as well. While most tower defenses give you different maps with occasional new buildings, here you also have new rules. One level may have you keep an eye on fuel, while on another you only can use basic warehouses and fastfood shops. Stars are given on each level which can be spent on upgrades, and you also can purchase items to slow down the trucks and buffs for your warehouses. Just keep an eye on your money because you must spend it to unlock new areas of San Francisco. This game has its own 'bumps in the road', such as how you occasionally need to replay levels just to build up money to move on when your balance has depleted, or how restarting levels does not give you back the items you used on it. Another problem is the speed bump item does not actually show up on your map once you've placed it and can fool you into using additional ones, so trust your click! These are just minor issues, however, and don't take away too much from the refreshing game that is Cargo Shipment San Francisco. The large map will take you awhile to play and keep the strategic part of your brain busy for a long time.

I have the same problem. Both Chrome and Firefox on Windows 8.

Blank cyan for me too. Chrome, Ubuntu. With Firefox it doesn't even load.

I like the concept, especially as a tower defense non-violent game that I could introduce to the kids or whatever.

There are a few big issues though:

1) The boosts that you can buy are basically pointless. They cost many times what the maximum payout for the level is and are ONE SHOT ITEMS!
So I can pay 50,000 for an item that only works once, on 1 map that only pays out 25k if you do it perfectly and costs 10k to play. That makes sense...

I guess if you consider them as 'cheats' to bypass a really hard level?

2) Fuel really ruins the game. You get income but it is rather bursty which is a bit unusual for a tower defense game. You dont get your cash when you 'kill' a creep, but theres a delay until it actually reaches the end.
Therefore IT IS HARD to predict your money management.

And now you have to watch a stupid fuel bar that runs out really really fast and a delay in payment = death.

Furthermore you wind up getting Fuel-Locked where you basically pay all your income buying fuel and have no money to spend on more 'Towers' and thus you lose.

Both of these are very frustrating mechanics.

Placing a "tower" on a corner isn't as useful as it is in most tower defense games, because your runner might head in a direction that is not toward a truck. If the runner misses the truck (despite a valiant effort toward running after one), then the runner has to head all the way back to the base and then reload, even though s/he has arms full of goods. This is quite frustrating.

Also frustrating is the speedy white van that appears early in most levels (often as the same time as a big truck) and blows past your towers to arrive unfulfilled at the end. Anything less than 100% will not earn that third star, so often I can see right at the start that I'm going to lose. Still, you have to stick it out because you pay serious $$$ to start a level, and quitting early means you'll end up way behind.

Let's see, what else is annoying - the "make towers cheaper" upgrade doesn't seem to make towers cheaper. Traffic cones cost almost as much as a warehouse. You can build a building in less time than it takes someone to walk down the street with a load of goods. You have to click to collect money from warehouses.

Oh yeah, and the whole fuel thing.
