We have been thinking hard about JayisGames.com ever since we took over ownership. The truth is that JiG is an extremely large site, bloated with content and old technology that has gone through so many iterations/owners it's hard to keep track of it all. For example, we have been trying to fix the registration on the site for months and we still can't get it working. We also hate the banner ads and advertiser content as well, but we need them in order to pay for servers, recoop purchase cost, etc.
So we just want to be straight with everyone and propose an idea to you, our readers.
- Browser games
- Ported flash games
- Community features
- Free game keys to upcoming games
- Fun events
- A light-hearted approach to gaming
- No ads
- No trolling or bad vibes
This would be everything that JayisGames strives to be with all the right incentives.
We would structure this as a monthly membership site at $9/month. We would keep the main site still, but remove all the ads. JiG would be a brand new platform.
In order to make this work, we would need some serious interest from our readers to be on board for this idea. The first 100 members would be considered VIPs and have priority access to everything held within the membership site.
If you can take a moment and tell us what you think, we would greatly appreciate it.
I would go for this; I'm already donating about half that through Patreon. I don't know where else I will easily find games that I enjoy playing & have been grateful for many years for the existence of this site. I really hope this plan brings new life to JayisGames!
I agree with Operagypsy and I am also currently a donator. Have enjoyed this site for years and would love to see it continue.
Same here.
i will consider it!
I have been visiting JIG for many years, through most of it's iterations and really appreciate all you have done to maintain the site. I would not be able to sign up for a monthly membership
I’ve been enjoying JayIsGames probably since its inception (and have often wondered how & where Jay progressed to spread his many talents). Thank you for this long time of thorough enjoyment. But after 20-some years my tastes, and even interest in gaming has changed along with my finger flexibility and keyboard agility, and I’ve never been into online gaming. Your proposed future for JIG sounds well-rounded and terrific for the younger gamer, but the gaming world lost a large portion of my heart with the demise of flash. In all honesty, I’d be interested in only a very small portion of what you intend to offer and, so, would not become a member. But, JIG has a large, loyal audience and I know it will succeed in its new adventure!
It's not a bad idea at all. I would personally go for it.
