The masters of the jigsaw at Plexus certainly weren't bundled up for winter when programming their latest mind-bending picture puzzle: FlutterBy. This time the subject is bugs and blossoms, drawn in a softer, more childlike style than we usually see from the developer. But don't let the big noses and sproingy antennae fool you: This is a puzzle that will take all your visual acuity to resolve into the final big picture.

Yay, back to the old formula. You lost me there with that last pirates puzzle (the one with all the gaps) but this one was back to what I'm used to and love. Thanks, I love these puzzles.

Anyone know why my arrow keys are not working with this game??

Are there instructions that I'm missing? Are the pieces supposed to rotate? (I'm on a Mac if that matters)...

This one actually took me a few hours to complete!

This was about the right difficulty level for me. Did anyone else find they attached the

flowers that made up the antennae for the butterfly outline

last?

Reply

Jo, I'm on a Mac too, and my left and right arrow keys rotate whichever piece I last clicked.

Possibly Tricky could note those controls in the review, since the game doesn't ever mention them?

Reply

Oh, and A and D also work for me, and both sets also work while dragging a piece.

Reply

Ezra, actually there's a tutorial at the very beginning of the game, and it mentions the arrow controls.

Reply

Oh, so there is. I hadn't noticed -- I was pulled away from the game, and by the time I came back the tutorial had timed out.

Always happy to see a Plexus Puzzle, and this was one of my favorites so far. Just the right level of trickiness for a relaxing break.

@Kactus:

Yep, same here. The butterfly shape was a cute surprise at the end.

Looking forward to the next one! (Actually, I kind of wish I knew how these were done. I'd love to make my own.)

Still working on it...

Wish we had more space to move the pieces around. I know you can move it off the screen, but really...

I actually thought this one was a little more boring than previous ones because it felt like a lot of the same thing ever and over. Find antennae shaped gap. Try every antennae ever to fit the gap. Rinse and repeat. I liked more variety of the shapes within the puzzle is what I'm saying, not just tons of antennas.
