Orbita Walkthrough
There are two parts to your quest: batteries and a secret code. Below are the steps for acquiring the batteries. The code info is here after the battery-puzzles.

  1. Move right to the main (planet) screen. When you can't move right any more, push "up" (PUP).

  2. Move to the large hanging rectangle just to the right of the hole. PUP. The square will fall down by you. PUSH UP AGAIN TO GRAB IT.

  3. Then just push it into the hole. Walk over the hole, back to the planet screen. Go right. PUP at the next blockade (the squash-box).

  4. Move to the right until you get to the box. Nudge it while it's halfway up, so you're resting against it and you can't move (but it's still working). If you keep pushing forward, you will automatically move across the base in plenty of time when it's down on the ground. This works whether you're alone or if you have items. Exit to the right.

  5. Move to the space mushrooms. PUP. You won't enter automatically.

  6. Move to the disk. PUP to get it. Exit to the right.

  7. Move to the next block: spike trap. No real trick to this one, just timing. I stopped between each spike with room to spare. Exit to the right.

  8. Move to the next block: the ball tower. PUP. Play the destroy-the-balls game. Again, no real trick: just keep moving the walls until all the balls are caught.

  9. A battery will appear to your right. Move to it, PUP, and you have it. Move left and go through the same traps as before.

  10. Go to your ship. PUP. The battery will go into its slot.

  11. NOW YOU HAVE A CHOICE:

    • APPLE-BATTERY

      1. Go to the planet screen. PUP at the trees. Get the apple lying on the ground (PUP).

      2. Move right again, going through all the same traps (squash-box and spikes). PUP at the little building. This is the one that is after the tall tower and before the wall with a wedge taken out. You'll know it: it's the only one with a computer and a little man in it.

      3. Move to the man. PUP. Take the jackhammer. Exit the room, and move left. Go through the usual traps. PUP at the skull-and-crossbones.

      4. Move far left to the edge of the grey matter. Press down ONCE. Then step right and press down ONCE again. Continue until you have a tunnel to the TNT. If you hit a mine, you die. You don't have to restart the game, just hit "try again". If you dig too deep, you're stuck. So just make a slope.

      5. PUP when you get to the TNT. Move left up your tunnel, exit screen to plant map, then move right to the wall with the wedge out of it.

      6. Go to the wall and PUP. TNT goes into the wedge, and the wall blows up. Exit right to planet map.

      7. Go all the way to the right, PUP at the thorn-trap (just before the ship). Just walk in and PUP at the battery. Go back to the left and back to the ship. PUP to place battery.

    • or

    • THORN-BATTERY

      1. Move right from the ship. PUP at first stop, where you dropped the box down to plug the hole. There is a crate on the left side of the screen. Go to it and PUP. Now you can push it.

      2. Push right to the squash-box. Move the crate until part of it rests on the base. The crate gets squashed and a battery appears. Go through the squasher and quickly tap PUP to get it. Take it back to the ship.

      3. Now you have the Killer Space Octopus duel, and you're done.

PUP to fire. It hops up before it vanishes, so avoid touching it OR the missles it fires. See these boards for some good strategies.

The code

If you haven't already got the code, you'll need to:

  1. At any time during your travels, PUP to enter the Space Mushroom scene (just before spike-trap)

  2. Pick up the computer disk that's lying on the ground. Move off to the right.

  3. Go to the building with the computer and the little man in it. This is the one just before the stone-wall-missing-a-wedge spot. Move to the computer and push UP. A code will appear.

  4. The code is:

  5. 4123

  6. Finally,

  7. after you have all 3 batteries in, the game will ask you to enter the code. Punch in the numbers and you're off.

(MY first walkthrough. Hope it's OK)

The game wont load. It seems armorgames is down.

lol, seconds after i posted it worked.

The game doesn't respond to my arrow keys at all...?

I can't move my little guy. Is armorgames down?

This is absolutely maddening. For reasons unknown, the game will begin, I receive instructions, yet the controls don't work.

o_O

Works fine for me (but then again, I'm on a Mac).

Try it now. I switched the links.

Reply

Works fine now, Jay. It's the same thing that happened with Dark Cut 2. Your code mustn't like Windows.

Reply

That was awful. Its more reflex oriented that puzzle-solving-skills oriented, and each time you die, you have to start from the beginning

Reply

I swore that there was some kind of save mechanism as I restarted a couple times with the apple already in my inventory. Its a shame that there are so many death traps between you and the first battery.

Reply

Thanks Lizard! I think because of your comment I figured out the problem(!) :)

Reply

It doesn't start you over at the beginning when you die, you just go back to the spaceship. I had one battery in place when I died, and it was still there when I came back.

Nice quick game.

Reply

I collected 2 batteries in less than 10 minutes and then spent half an hour trying to find the third one.

I got the one from the ballgame building and the one from under the thorns.

Where the heck is the third one? You can tell me straight ahead, I gave it up. Rather boring to run around that small planet for half an hour and be able to do nothing that helps.

Reply

Does anyone know how to get the battery that's in the spikes? I have no idea how to...

Reply

biolarzen --
smash the box that is under the square trees in the smasher thing (hit up to acquire it and then move it across the screens) if you pushed it into the whole, you have to start over but hit up to acquire the huge square fruit thing and push that into the whole

Reply

lena:

You have to go all the way around the world to get that battery. When you get there, just walk straight through the spikes.

Reply

If you thought revisiting the same death traps over and over was annoying, just wait til you have all three batteries...

Spoiler contains my strategy to finish the game.

After getting the batteries, you fly off and are instantly in control of your ship hovering around the planet. An octo-monster burst out at you and starts blasting. Push the up arrow key to shoot back. The game suddenly has become a shooter with a difficulty level most wouldn't expect. You'd better have a fast trigger finger or it'll be a long fight.

Good Luck!

Reply

I'm up to this weird brick wall thing with a ship in it, I know where the battery is but I don't know how to get past this wall/weird looking chimney thing with a square missing out of i :(.

Reply

The "chirpy" sound when you interact with objects came from Super Mario World - it's the sound that's made when a yoshi egg hatches.

Reply

To get the last battery...

You have to crush the box in the machine. Put the square you get from the tree in the hole before trying to move the box

After you get all the batteries...

Fly around in a circle firing continuously. The octopus will die in no time

Reply

Not awful, but I found it to be laggy beyond belief! Ye gads that game runs slow!

Reply

The Corruptor, I blame the Habbo ad. As soon as the animation stopped, it worked fine. As soon as it started again, I became slow beyond belief. I'll check this out when the ad doesn't make me lag so much... Seems fun though.

Reply

My endgame strategy:

Hold down an arrow key to continually orbit around the planet, shooting at the monster every time you pass it. Stop moving only to avoid being hit by shots or the monster when he starts to move.

Reply

Speaking of maddening, after I died trying to get the third battery, it won't let me

push either the crate or the box from the tree. It falls when I push up, but it doesn't detect either one if I push up again. It worked through the entire game until I need it to, of course.

Fun little game though.

Reply

I have the same problem as Sam, I cant get past the chimney thing after i get the jackhammer! :(

Pretty neat, quick little game. I had the same problem as Nathan though, after I make the square from the tree fall, it won't let me push either the box or the square to get the last battery, so I gave up.

Reply

Well, I know what I have to do, but I keep dieing on the spikes... the lack of indicator of where they come up means I keep misjudging distances and getting hit. I can get by a few times, but the back and forth that is necessary results in me dieing a lot...

To get the battery in the spikes, swap your apple with the creature in the same room as the computer. The creature will give you a drill.

Where the apple tree used to be becomes a drillable field - drill across and down to get the TNT, then walk out of the hole. Use the TNT on the brick chimney thing.

Reply

Okay, to compound everything previously said,

Batteries:
1. Though most of you have seemed to have gotten this one last I got it first, so here it is. When you get to the first unpassible screen on the right

knock down the block from the tree, tap up to do so, tap up again to grab it, push it into the hole, grab the crate, push it into the crusher on the next screen, wait until it gets crushed

2. This is probably the easiest

Go into the castle-like structure - press the button to change the layout of the walls - do so until all the balls are in the box

3. And finally, go to the left past your ship,

Ignoring the spike pit battery on the left, go to the mushrooms. The dot is collectable, collect it. Go to the other mushrooms, collect the computer chip. These are both used in the house next to the place you got the second battery, the chip to the computer, the "apple" to the hungry man. You now have a jackhammer - use it in the region with the skull and crossbones to get the TNT. Go to the right to smash the wall. continue to the right straight into the spike pit - there's a battery there. Bring it to the ship and BLAST OFF! It asks for a code; this is the set of numbers that was on the computer chip - I don't know if it's always different, but it was 4123 for me.

Now shoot long and fast until the thing is dead.

Reply

My tactics for shooting the boss was to circle continuously in the same direction and bomb him on my way by. If you're quick you can fit in 4 shots, though 2 or 3 shots is more average. The ending took me by surprise, because when my ship launched this thing jumped out and shot me. Luckily, it let me restart from the beginning of that stage instead of completely from scratch. Something I noticed that restarts take you to the point just after you return a battery to the ship. Fortunately also, some puzzles got reset if it became an nonwinable condition. A neat game but I hated those spikes so much.

For some reason, the green sky doesn't work for me; it's white on white, meaning I can't read anything and thus I can't do anything.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hmm. A lot of extra space, especially between sections. Jay, would you mind tidying that up a bit please? Or is there some way I can re-enter or edit it myself? It looked all right on the preview, but I obviously missed something.

Reply

Jay, I'm an idiot. I completely forgot about the rocket code:

Finally,

Reply

Merricat, I just finished fixing up the first part of your walkthrough. Where should the rocket code be inserted/added?

Reply

Thank you, Jay. I need to get an HTML editor so I can do a cleaner job.

I'll leave the final placement up to your good judgment, but I suggest something like this:

"There are two parts to your quest: batteries and a secret code. Below are the steps for acquiring the batteries. The code info is here after the battery-puzzles."

Then, just before the part about the octopus-duel:

"The code:

If you haven't already got the code, you'll need to:"

(insert code walkthrough here)

Thank you again.

Reply

I hope that's ok. :)

Thanks for your efforts!

i killed the octopus by having the right arrow pushed instantly (unlikely you will run into the octopus jumping) and pushing the up arrow two-three times always when i was over the octopus. it was piece of cake.
besides i really liked the game its easy and nice, and the graphics is very pleasant.

The game is cute and all, but the controls are MADDENING. I press forward and the little guy runs and runs and runs until he gets smashed up by the box thing, even if I press backward to stop him. Am I the only one that this is happening to?

Reply

You can walk right through the spikes!

Reply

I just started this game, and I am already absolutely in love with it! I just can't get over the little robot's skipping. He just skips along through spikes, crushers, etc. So. Adorable! Unfortunately, I keep getting crushed in the crusher when I try and get the key. :P
