Only a so-so escape game because it is very easy. Escaped in less than five minutes.

Either I'm getting better at these or this one is rather simple! I was stuck for awhile on

how to flush the toilet

until I realized

the head of the plunger can act as the rubber valve

.

The_Corruptor May 29, 2009 2:16 PM

the hardest two parts was realizing that

you had to stopper the sink before putting the baking soda in it

and

what to do with the tub at the end

I like the difficult ones, and I like the easy ones like this, too.

Reply

Woot! First time I've got one of these without giving in and reading the walkthrough. Clever, but, if I can get it, not TOO clever...

Reply

One cool little realistic thing I noticed was that if you wait for a little bit after

pouring the hot water in the sink, the water will turn cold

I was able to figure it out quickly but was rather annoyed to find out that the floss had no purpose. Why go through the trouble of having it as an item in the game if it has no use. Is there some secret floss ending?

Reply

Hey i know this is not a comment for this game, but i just wanted to let the administrator of this website know that Matt Sandorf is no longer working and was wondering if there was an alternate link i could use. Thanks. and again sorry for not posting a question about the game in question but needed help on this issue and no one posts in that board anymore so i thought maybe someone could help here. thanks again.

[Edit: You may use our contact address to contact us directly, a link to which is found in the footer of every page. As for Matt Sandorf, the link on that page leads to a site that appears to be working/loading just fine. You might want to check the extensions you're using in your browser. -Jay]

13:45 on first try. I only needed help on the

Hairdryer and the battery... which was kinda easy... I just forgot about the hairdryer because It wasn't used 'till then... he code was a nice touch, though

Nice addition to the series.

You mean to tell me you didn't figure out the secret floss ending? Then you haven't completed the game, my friend!

J/K. : )

Reply

You never use the floss, the plunger head would not work as a valve because it it is too large and therefore water would leak through, no hairdryers are battery operated, a key if flushed it could not fit through the crevices that the water does when you flush a toilet, you could drop the blowdryer in the toiler or sink following the game's logic, which is incorrect because you don't plug the dryer in, therefore no link to the rest of the room.

The preceeding was everything wrong with the game.

Just because you don't have a use for something doesn't mean it's something "wrong" with the game.

Look up "red herring".

Reply

In response to Tahsis: The hair dryer isn't battery operated, you'll notice that when you use it on the battery terminal that you are very close to the only power outlet in the room. This power outlet lets the dryer reach to the bathtub, but not the sink or toilet.

As for the toilet and the key I'm sure you're right. But keep in mind these games still have an element of fantasy to them, and I wasn't about to risk testing on my own toilet.

Hah, Jay, I remember the days when you were fed up with room escape games and now you are defending red herrings. Well, I'm glad you decided to keep escape games as part of JIG... and perhaps you like them more now than so long ago?

I feel like I should go and wash my hands after playing that. :)

This was good the numbers was probs the most confusing part. That and the location of

the wrench

Reply
darcixcore May 29, 2009 8:20 PM

The Afroninja escape series is one of my favorites! I was worried there wasn't going to be any more. I did pretty good, 14:30, no spoilers.

Reply

I was annoyed at the useless floss, too. But more than that I was annoyed at the useless shard of glass from the mirror. Especially since the note in the pill bottle made it sound like you could use the glass shard to combine two of the other objects. None of which, it turns out, were combineable! Very, very odd.

A somewhat 'meh' escape game overall.

The game freezes up after I

flush the toilet. Am I supposed to wait over five minutes before I can play again?

Hey guys, did it in 1:11! Maybe my computer has a bug but

the code wasn't needed! Just got the plunger. Used it to get the hair dryer. Got the wrench. Used on the key pad until a message said the bathtub water was on. Dropped hair dryer in. Out I went.

Way too much fun to finally beat an escape game at it's own game.

How do I

plug up the sink?

Reply
Black Drazon May 30, 2009 12:53 AM

I had trouble finding

the wrench

though I managed that, but I needed the walkthrough to work out where to use

the mirror

.

Reply

Leslie:

If you put the mirror shard on the wall next to the numbers, you will see the others reflected to form the correct sequence.

Reply

Dylan:

How do you plug up sinks in real life?

The normal way, not by clogging it.

There's a plug in between the hot and cold taps

So yeah, great game with few logic-leaps. A few weird solutions, but still logical. Short and sweet, just like AfroNinja's other escape games. Another fun edition to the series!

Reply

Am I the only one who had trouble with the number code? I had to resort to the walkthrough to see that:

The E and the 3 joined up to make an 8. Since E was a button that one could push, I kept plugging in "45E301" and wondering what I was doing wrong.

Someday, someone (probably in Japan) will turn this whole "escape the room" concept into a TV game.

^^ Good find, your method works!

Reply

first attempt was under 3 mins! I guess we think in similar ways :P
the hardest bit for me was finding the wrench and hairdyer. sensible plae to hide something I guess, but a bit obscure, given the simplicity and resourcefulness of the rest of the game. Still, a nice way to pass 10 mins!

People are having a hard time "figuring out" the code...there is no figuring needed. All you have to do is..

hit the mirror with the handle to the plunger

After you scrape the wall with the razor blade to get the first 2 1/2 numbers put the mirror fragment in the wall...you see a reflection of the numbers on the wall above the toilet and the code is visible.

houseworkisevil May 30, 2009 2:28 PM

I liked this one! Was a little confounded by the code, but just went back and forth and looked at the pieces over and over again until the light went on. These games are sooooo much better when you can figure them out yourself. I remember Afro-Ninja's other escape games, and hit the tab key for old time's sake, just to get the angry message for a giggle. Try it!

Magdalen May 30, 2009 2:59 PM

Is the difficulty with

scraping the wall with the razor

a glitch? Or am I not attempting this in the correct way/place?

Reply

8:48 on my first attempt. Man that was fun.

Would've been quicker if I hadn't wasted any time

trying to figure out what to do with the dental floss

after shorting out the electricity and being able to actually escape

, though. Oh well, mea culpa.

lizabif May 31, 2009 12:13 AM

Wow. This is so annoying. It won't let me move the second tile on the ceiling to get the wrench. I'm so mad!

Reply
kellyhalia May 31, 2009 5:30 AM

Wow, maybe I'm the only one who liked the red herring. I like the fact that I could

take everything in the cabinet

just like I could if it were real life.

Maybe it's because I never do too well in room escapes without walkthroughs, so my favorite part is going around and picking up all the items I can find! :-D

It was ok. I mean, if getting out in 3 minutes and 2 seconds means it was hard then, we did really, really bad, but if that's a fast time, then yay!

For people who are confused about the code:

the slip of paper says "mirror on the wall"

hit the cracked mirror with the plunger stick, take the shard and put it on the wall, it will show the other number reflected

The code was useless...
You don't even need to put in the right code... if you type a couple random numbers, while clicking around a hit a spot that said, "It will not budge by hand" and just used the wrench at that spot to get the water to the tub working and never even bothered with the code.

Who cares about the game - the video prequel is excellent!

To be honest, that was kind of boring. It's really short and easy compared to the others. I hope when and if they make another one, it's better.

Reply

I see two other people have left comments about having problems with

using the razor to scrape the wall

King of Town forgot about how to use

the mirror.

Use the

wrench

to break the

mirror fragment

off of the cabinet.

Reply
Anonymous June 13, 2009 10:40 PM

I beat it in 51 seconds, no lie!

Reply

There was an easier way to learn the code for the keypad.

I interpreted the note as literally needing the mirror somehow..rather than just a mind trick, so I used the wrench on the mirror, and used the piece that broke off up against the number above the battery. The numbers then join up with each other in the reflection and give you the solution.

I escaped in 2:32 seconds! It was fun & easy once you learned how to do it! You dont even everything from the cabnet. and once you memorise the code....

it goes buy like a breeze! I haven't played the other 3, but i promise i will! Wow, so fun!

It is pretty easy to find the code. (not combinine E and 3)

Just hit the mirror with the ending of the plunger. Take the piece of mirror. Go to the number area and place the broken mirror on the wall. This way u can read the entire code without a problem

Koleire June 26, 2009 7:46 AM

How to read the code without going back and fort between screens...

hit the mirror with the ending of the plunger. take the piece of broken mirror

go to the numbers area and place the piece of broken mirror on the wall

voila u can read the code

Hey Jessica - How did you use the razor on the wall? I've been stuck on that for a while.

i didn't take unnecessary items like the floss and pill bottle. You don't even need to crack the mirror if you have beaten it before the code doesn't change.

Reply

Fun little game...I reckon I took about 40 mins; I kept accidentally clicking on the adverts scattered around the game, which, annoyingly, direct one away from the game instead of opening in a new window, forcing a restart. xP

im stuck on the wall part what do you do? (.

easy! escaped in under 5 minutes. Combining the in complete 8 was tricky though. You should be able to pick up the lock and use the floss.
