hmmm....I'm close to finishing....the last Item I got was the shoehorn, and I still need to open up the personnal organizer...can I get some help as to what to do now?
i just got out....sparky, to open the organizer, you need to
use the date on the letter as the passcode. convert the date to a six digit number and enter it. hope this helps...

This one was easier. For me anyway. I got out in 6:34, where the car took me upwards of 11 minutes.
6 min 28 to escape the car and 5 min 50 sec to escape the closet.
I escaped from the Closet, but it seems that Tom Cruise is still there :D

Got it in 10:40, it must be the first game I've completed without hints in ages. I must stop being lazy and looking here xD
Most difficult part was
working out in which format the date should be entered.
Found a bug:
if you combine the second key with the wire cutters it turns into another hanger, with which you cannot open the second locked box. I had to restart.

I think the shoehorn doesn't have a use. It's just there to throw you for a loop.

Still no idea how to open the stinking attic door.
Probably shoehorn is the reason why we got into the closet in the first place.
So we look for it, find it, and leave the closet with it. Makes sense.

First time, I put the hands to 3:35 and nothing happened. Second time, the wire cutters wouldn't work on the hanger, and now nothing will happen with the pocket watch again. Am I doing something wrong?
I got out in 6:03. This one was easy- I didn't have to get any help at all.

For some reason, whenever I set the pocket watch to
3:35
nothing happens, no key appears or anything like that. I've tried setting the watch multiple times to no avail, and have also tried reloading the game and loading it from a different site. The key just doesn't show up anywhere.
For the pocketwatch, remember...
...like on an normal clockface, when the minute hand moves, the hour hand moves as well

However, I got out of the closet in 6:37. Pretty good, I thought.
However, for some reason the code for the cadet didn't work the first time. I happened to try it a second time, and it worked then... wierd.

The kicker is that I actually thought about that, but ruled it out without even trying it because that's not what the clue looks like! Grrr...

This was a confusing game. I think I got somewhere around 15 minutes, but I needed help for the code on the organizer, everything else I did on my own.
I replayed it once just to see how fast I could beat it, and I got 1:03!!

The car one took me forever, but this one I got in 8:12 with no help...
I'm usually really bad at these, but this one didn't have any of those stupid click-the-pixel "puzzles". Just actual puzzles to figure out using what you have.
Still, maybe a bit easy?
I ended up figuring it out, and got out in about less than 3 minutes. ^_^
yes took me 22:39 but i could have gotton it in 5 mins tops i kept using the date wrong i didn't use the month first
How do I open the pocket watch? When I try to open it with the wire snips, it says that the items don't combine:(
i did it in 00:01:30 the first try... its actually really easy you just need to remember the firt one and then think of places they would hide the other tings. and i never once used the shoe horn, what the heck was that for ? any ideas

put the hour hand between the 3 and 4 an dthe minute hand on 7 (minute hand is the long one, hour is the short)
i have a feeling that shoehorn was a red herring.
anyway, the only part i really got tripped up on was figuring out what to enter into the organizer. i knew what i was supposed to be entering, i just didnt put it in the right format :)
where do i get the tiny key?! i opened the watch and set the time but there is no key!
Hehe, did it in 6:55 the first go, no spoilers. Then did a speed run - 1:11, about to try again to get it faster if possible. Good game, one of the few point+click I can complete.

ok to beat it....
(only use if u really are stuck)
first you click to the left twice. get the coat hanger. click down. click the toolbox and get the pliers. click tray and get crowbar. click out. get old photo in corner. click back up. click on right side of coat and get watch. if you look at the photo, you can see that the clock says 3:35. now click on the watch. it says its stuck closed. to get it opened, combine wire snips w/ coat hanger. now click on the new wire and click it to the bottom of the watch. next, click on the knob on the watch. set time to 3:35. if nothing happens, make sure the minute hand is directly on the 7. still nothing? move the hour hand between the 3 and 4 a little, until you see a key come out the side. now click to the ceiling. use blue crowbar on board and use the key on the door.once in attic, click the lever. go back down.now click on top of the shelf. click on jacket pocket and get the personal organizer.click down and get the shoehorn. now to open the organizer, tupe in 111787 ( you get this from the date on the letter 11 [november] 11, 87 [1987]). now click on the brown box and open with the silver key. get the ring. now click on the ruby 5 times untill it pops out. now click out then up. click to the right twice untill you get to the closet door. click on the knob. now combine the wire and the ruby. now click it to the pentagon shaped hole above the door. U WIN!!!!!

yay! 20 minutes! i did it without any help or anything! it would have only taked 15, i figured out the cadet code right away, but i must have entered it wrong cause that really threw me off until i tried it again.
yeah!!!! i got it in 7:16 second try! no help! just got stuck on the ruby thin and i messed up on the organiser but i got it!

Walkthrough for escape the closet:
-From the starting screen, turn twice until you are facing the back of the closet
-Take the coat hanger off the rack
-Click on the brown coat to open it, and take the pocket watch
-Click near the bottom of the screen to examine the closet floor
-Click on the toolbox
-Click on the latch to open it
-Take the tinsnips
-Click on the gray area of the toolbox to reveal the bottom
-Take the mini-crowbar
-Examine the pocket watch
-Use the tin snips with the coat hanger to create the wire rod
-Use the wire rod on the small hole at the bottom of the pocket watch to open it
-Pull (click) the switch on the right so you can move the watch hands
-Set the time to 3:35 (from the clock in the back of the old photograph)
-Take the tiny key and return to the closet
-Click the top of the screen to look at the ceiling
-Use the mini-crowbar to remove all the boards and use the tiny key on the keyhole
-In the attic room, pull the level to change the closet.
-Click the hole in the floor to go to the new closet
-Open the pocket of the business suit and take the personal organizer
-Examine the personal organizer and enter 111787 as the password (the date in the letter)
-Take the small key from inside
-Return to the closet, click the bottom of the screen to look at the floor
-Examine the wooden box, use the small key to open it
-Take the ruby ring
-Examine the ring. Click the ruby five times to take it out of the band
-Combine the ruby and wire rod to create the ruby key

hey i was sleepy the secret to winning is to
move the 3 on the watch not right on top of it but keep moving it slowly beetween the 3 and the 4 (the small hand not the big)
that game was really hard because i didnt know that we needed to pull the lever to change the rooms. Gosh that was stressful until i finished that point, because it took me atleast 5 retrys for a new start. Then FINALLY i got it in 5:48. Not to bad.

Apparently this is a US-made game which uses the US date format... I'm from England and it was the last thing I thought of that 111787 meant Nov 17, 1987. I didn't realise until 10 seconds after I read the spoiler.

Entertainig and fairly easy - easier than the other ones, anyway, particularly the phone booth one! The "time traveling" (I'm guessing that's what happened) element was fun and unexpected. What the heck was the shoehorn for, anyway? An unfinished thought, perhaps?

The inventory navigation is not forgiving...
If the ruby and the wire are not on the same screen of the inventory, it takes a delicate hand to scroll over to combine them. Took me several tries.
Think of how the Americans write the date.
The password is
111787 and once you get the ring click on it a couple of times and then combine it with the wire rod. By the way the shoehorn is useless.

Is in the watch. Use the pliers to cut the wire hanger, then use the resulting item to open the watch. Set the watch to 3:35 and a drawer will pop out with the key.

The code DOES have something to do with the letter the grandfather left, JIGuest. On the letter it says November 17 1987. To get the code
you need to think about the date in number terms:
November = 11
17 = 17
1987 = 87
The code is 111787 ( 11/17/87 )
