Discovery
In the beginning, there was the void, and unless you put your puzzling skills to work in this little experimental game, that's all there will ever be. Use a series of powers, unlocked as you play and experiment, to shape the world around you and turn it from an empty void into a space teeming with life and drama.

cool game but i can't pass when it say "the animal they had no home"
Stumbled over M. Possibly because I have a German keyboard. I know in the English layout the M is somewhere else, but I'm not inclined to find out. Don't get the point of this game.
Seems like you need enough land to build a home.
@zxcvbn23ful
The animals need houses..
press J
Stuck at:
all was right again. Maybe more of the world could be settled?
OK so I've learned how to bring death, but so... Does something happen next? Or do I just run around killing?
If you get stuck, remember that
Every command is in alphabetical order
yes, killing is the correct next step ;-)
Ok I give up what do I do when the priests start killing squirrels?
T does nothing...
I'm stuck in the same spot Infant Tyrone is. I've learned the Death command, but no other instructions are popping up, even though I've filled the entire game area with as many, plants, water, and squirrels as I can. Hitting the other letter keys does absolutely nothing. Do I have to go on a killing spree or something to get the next command?
@Infant and Jade
Did you try destroying part of the word after learning it?
@xdrngy
I think it was S after learning about priests
Stuck at "The world was still in chaos, Incarnation could wait."
never mind~
Well that was interesting. Got all the commands, but not quite all the achievements. Not sure I want to try for the rest, though.
All right, made it up to the "M" command. I've been spamming that left and right, but haven't gotten any new commands past "They had to be taught a final lesson," and the people apparently can't all be killed off at once. "N" doesn't work for me yet. Now what?
Jade,
Killing everyone is the next step, but turning everything back to void also works.
Try destroying the entire world with D.
Nuke the site from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.
From what I can tell
There are three endings.
1.
Priests win against science. This ends up with them gaining god powers and destroying the world. You can fight with creating, or just give up and wipe everything. I'm guessing this is from using lightning, U?, on the cities.
2.
Scientists win against religion. I think this would end up with them gaining WMDs and destroying the world. You could probably fight with creating, or just give up and wipe everything. I'm guessing this is from using hurricanes, V?, on the temples. Haven't gotten this one yet, though.
3.
Coexistance. Use the morality on them when they start fighting. This one's boring.
There might be more, but those are the ones I can guess at. Maybe one where they fight for all eternity?
Will Anyone or someone help out answer how to find these achievements for this game Discovery, below. . .:
...The Holy Land...
...Rainbow Coalition...
...A Winter Wonderland...
...Random...
...Why Would Anyone Do That....
thanks for giving your time to help me out.
spoiler alerts for the achievements I already found, below. . .:
No hints. All solutions spelled out as best as I am able to explain them to this audience. Achievements numbered by left-most column read top-down then following to the next column of achievements.
Not to come off sounding rude…if any of these solutions are confusing then I do not know how to keep them down to its simplest form for you.
1st Achievement. Let There Be Light
Entered the World. By pressing the command key. . . "Enter"
2nd Achievement. Destroyer of Worlds
Destroy(D) used. I think if I am not mistaken by pressing the command key D
3rd Achievement. Official Recognition
A Cross is built. I think when one of your humans start building the Cross things
4th Achievement. Two Party System
Scientists exist as rivals to Priests.
6th Achievement. Survival of the Fittest
Scientists are the only ones left
8th Achievement. Getting Ahead of Oneself
This game gives you this when you, "Clear the World before getting Z." This Achievement is found by clearing your World before getting the command key Z. Not to sound rude…if that is confusing then I do not know how to keep this solution in its simplest form for you.
10th Achievement. PETA Would be Proud.
I do not know how I found this Achievement but the clue or the solutions given by the game, itself (in-game), is
Manage all the animals without man for a minute.
I have beaten the game but
do you need to get all achievements to get to freeform mode?
To get the The Holy Land achievement
"Priests all kill each other."
I got this by eliminating the scientists and cities but leaving the priests and churches behind before getting the Y function.
RXF,
You don't need to get all the achievements to play freeform mode.
I just got Clairvoyance (H) and it mentioned fish. (I) does nothing.
"The seed dropped into the void with little effect."
(Q) does nothing.
I'm stuck in the same place as Skylerf. I've been
out in the ocean trying to observe the fish
for lack of a better plan. Apparently that's not the trick. Just how clairvoyant do these squirrels need to be? :D
A Winter Wonderland
fill the world with snow(g)
@dstrosy
use H on all animals (or just running)
OK, so apparently the answer to my question was "pretty dang clairvoyant. I've reached (P) but don't understand how it works. I have now
completely destroyed the world with fire. Do I start over from the void again and just avoid teaching them fire?
@Jiguest:
Ad missing achievements:
The Holy Land
Let the priests win, then pass reincarnation - they destroy each other, burning the world.
A Winter Wonderland
Blanket everything in snow - for me that meant criss-crossing the whole area while holding G until I got it
Holy Land:
After reaching Z, create a new world right up to the Priest (R), create a bunch of them (Don't use Freedom (W) or Morality (L) at any time though), Incarnate (X) to set an example of godhood, then Ascend (Y) They'll eventually kill each other and destroy the world.
Random:
After resetting the world with Z, create Snow (G) on the void.
so I'm stuck at the part when more of the world should be settled. m isn't doing anything... help?
Rainbow Coalition
After using Lightning and Tornadoes on the Priests and Scientists, use L for Morality on the entire world. Use Freedom, Incarnate and say hello to everyone, then ascend, and instead of destroying the world, press escape and it'll say Withdraw instead of the other thing.
Tadaaa. One happy peaceful land.
@Rachel:
Use D first.
Like xdrngy, I'm stuck when the priests start killing squirrels. Any advice?
im stuck on flowers. how do i make them?
Can someone please help me
i can kill but dont know what to do next
Anyone know how to get 'why would anyone do that?'
I think someone should make a walkthrough. It seems at every letter, I need to come to these comments to see if someone's said anything about it.
I got to
"Escape" Self-Destruct
and can't seem to make it do anything at all now.
Tried to rush through the game the second time through.
Used C before the text gave it to me. I created a few squirrels and then the text appeared. C stopped working but A and B work. D does not, however. I got stuck.
Okay, it's not a walkthrough unless I can explain what exactly to do. But, I beat it, and here's how:
ENTER
Press enter to start.
ENTER again
Press enter to discover, filling the void with ground.
ARROW KEYS
Use the arrow keys to move.
A
Make dirt, which can be rained upon to make grass.
B
Rain. If you rain in the void, you make oceans. If you rain on ground, you make sand.
C
Squirrels. They're pretty dumb right now.
D
Destruction. Destroy everything you've made to earn an achievement.
E
Trees, birds come from these.
F
Makes evergreen trees, which squirrels are allergic to.
G
Makes snow. If you snow on the void (according to Dreacos), you get an achievement.
H
Clairvoyance (did I spell that right?) Squirrels become more able to avoid danger.
I
Rivers. Pretty much just cosmetic.
J
Creates houses, men come out of these.
K
Stones. Men make altars out of these.
L
Morality. Makes men stop harming each other, I guess
M
Kill. Press D anywhere and It'll basically tell you to kill them all with M.
N
Flowers. After you kill them, it tells you to make flowers.
O
Fire. When you press O, the men will start burning your world to the ground.
P
Stars. I just went around holding P until it gave me Q.
Q
Church. No one seems to care for these, if only there was someone to convince them...
R
Priests, when you are on top of a church, press R to make priests come out. Priests get people to go to church.
S
Cities. But who will populate them...?
T
Scientists. Like churches and priests, go over a city and press T to release scientists.
U
Lightning. I guess you're supposed to scare the priests by striking their churches...
V
...But that's not enough. You need to level the churches with HURRICANES.
W
Freedom. I don't know what's different here, but it unlocks...
X
Incarnation. Enter the world as man.
Y
Ascend. Kills the man, keeps the God.
Z
Erases everything for a fresh start.
ESCAPE
Don't press ESCAPE until you are satisfied with the world, because after this, you won't have that chance again. Suicide.
So, there it is. How I beat it. If someone wants to make a real walkthrough, someone who can actually explain in detail what to do, you can copy this.
If you do, please include the achievements, I couldn't figure most of them out.
OK, then how do I get freeform mode?
@RXF:
I think you get freeform mode after using escape. If you hit control (to open the menu) and click the box next to that option, then restart the game, you'll get every power.
At least, I'm pretty sure that's how it is.
I'll check, to make sure.
I'll be making a better version of that walkthrough. Hopefully, I'll figure out exactly what does what now.
@ Dreacos -
Concerning the Random achievement - how exactly did you do it? I followed your advice precisely and nothing. Tried many variations and as well nothing.
Why would anyone do that? is all I have left...
--@gASK
I didn't have to anything with a void to get random. I'm not sure what triggered it, but I
basically went crazy with making stuff until I couldn't tell what was going on at all. I think it might just be luck :(
Alright, I got every achievement except that last one. If someone finds out, please post. Even if it's just the description.
The best version of my old walkthroughs, also the last.
ENTER
Press enter to start.
ENTER again
Press enter to discover, filling the void with ground.
ARROW KEYS
Use the arrow keys to move.
A
Make dirt, which can be rained upon to make grass
B
G
Makes snow.
H
Clairvoyance (did I spell that right?). Squirrels become more able to avoid danger.
I
Rivers. Pretty much just cosmetic.
J
Creates houses, men come out of these.
K
Stones. Men make altars out of these.
L
Morality. Makes men stop harming each other.
M
Kill. Press D anywhere and It'll tell you to kill all the men with M. This is easiest if you started out with few houses on an island, because it involves much less moving around.
N
Flowers. After you kill them, you make flowers to calm them down.
O
Fire. When you press O, the men will learn to use fire as a weapon against the animals, but it starts to burn the entire world..
P
Stars. Every man must be affected by these stars, so again, it's easiest if you have few houses.
Q
Church. No one seems to care for these, if only there was someone to convince them...
R
Priests. When you are on top of a church, press R to make priests come out. Priests get people to go to church.
S
Cities. But who will populate them...?
T
Scientists. Like churches and priests, go over a city and press T to release scientists.
U
Lightning. The priests start killing squirrels and scientists, so you must scare them into submission by striking their churches with lightning...
V
...But that's not enough. You need to level the churches with HURRICANES.
W
Freedom. It grants everyone free will. They become happier, stop killing each other, and most importantly, it unlocks...
X
Incarnation. Enter the world as man, and say 'hello' to all the people.
Y
Ascend. Kills the man, keeps the God.
Z
Erases everything for a fresh start.
ESCAPE
Don't press ESCAPE until you are satisfied with the world, because after this, you won't have that chance again. Suicide. Or...
ESCAPE
You get rainbow Coalition: After using Lightning and Tornadoes on the Priests and Scientists, use L for Morality on the entire world. Use Freedom, Incarnate and say hello to everyone, then ascend, and instead of destroying the world, press escape and it'll say Withdraw instead of the other thing. Tadaaa. One happy peaceful land. ~Zuu
Of course, by now you've unlocked Freeform Mode, so when you get tired of the world you left, just check that box and restart the game.
It's a few small tweaks, but it's finally able to describe what to do. I'm hoping someone makes an achievement walkthrough now...
Has anyone pressed D and space at the same time? looks like those barcodes or a broken tv
I've achieved everything except "why would anyone do that?" Anybody achieved that? I think that the 'rainbow coalition' red-white people are weird-looking, and the saddest ending is the one where the priests destroy the world.
@JIGuest:
I tried that the other night, thinking it might be the solution to this trophy. It's not...
fun trick - fish can survive in the void
I've got a bunch of fish swimming around a black background :)
God just committed suicide because the priests killed the squirrels and tried to ascend into Godhood.
There's a sentence I thought I'd never see.
Why would anyone do that?
Play the entire game without using the arrow keys.
