Boondog
Boondog is an action/puzzle platformer similar to classic titles such as Another World and the original Prince of Persia. The main character is quite the acrobat, able to jump, climb, and leap all over the place at will. The action is parceled out in simple moves, though, forcing you to perform your physical feats one step at a time, and only after careful thought and execution. Add to that a bit of Sokoban-style barrel pushing and you've got an excellent diversion that tests both mental and physical reflexes.

i feel silly im stuck on level 4.....
I'm stuck on level 4 too!
I was stuck on 4 for a long time. The trick is
After you go down off a ledge into a catgrab, hit x to jump to the next ledge. This way you can cover a gap of three spaces, when you can only jump two spaces if you start from a standing position
erm. Am I missing something on level seven?
This is another game that doesn't appear to fit the jayisgames.com template. The game window is too small for the game.

You have to run around the level twice... climb all the ledges on the left side using jump and grab, run across the top, down the bottom. Push the barrel one space to the left. Then you can use the switch to turn off the right-side laser, climb back up to the top, across, down the left, and use the now-moved barrel to climb to the exit.
My problem with this game in general is that there are lots of levels in which you have to run around the whole place twice to hit switches, lather, rinse, repeat. That and the use of "X" for both standing jump AND push is a major nuisance; I've often tried to 'X' to hop onto a barrel instead of up-arrow and would up pushing the barrel into a corner and having to restart. How hard would it have been to map push to a different key?
for level 7:
you must get to the right side of the room then push the barrel to the left. then grab onto the left side of the single block. from there you can jump onto the other ledge (pressing the button). from there you climb back up and go back to the left side. you now can jump on top of the barrel (using up, not X) and climb up to the teleporter
in level 7:
you need to get to the right of the room, which is not hard, push the barrel to the left, get back to the left, and then you can get on the barrel and get up to the end

It's a good game, some real frustration at level 15, but know im stumped at level 17.
Stuck on 16. Why won't the barrel move off the second moving belt?
The barrel on far left starts 2nd belt in 16
17, its all about stacking barrels to push
barrels. Plus, once you have stacked, you can
push the bottom ones.

I hate the level that introduces timed switches.
Thanks abyss, won the game with lot of trials and deaths, though the game ends with a "Game Completed, Thanks for playing" on a small square, a button to the main menu and some guitar music, not worth all that effort and missing story.
Yeah, finally beat it after a rage quit early this day. I hated the level with the huge amount of barrels... and the moving plataform in 19 seemed that you could start it at any cycle of laser changes and the game might become harder or impossible to beat.
Could someone make a walkthrough for 17?

You have to go around the level 3 times, Push the button on the bottom left the first time, middle button on second pass(jump as soon as you step on the conveyor belt at the bottom to get in there; this was the most annoying part of the entire game for me). Third time around press the button in the top left corner.
having trouble with level 13 - anyone?
I still don't understand 16. Is mine broken? I stand on the first button and the barrel goes down the long belt and drops. Then I go to the last button and stand on it. The belt, which the barrel is now on, moves but the barrel does not. It just sits there in the same place, while the belt is moving under it. What's wrong?
Interesting as a puzzle game once I'd got over the frustrations of assuming the controls were from another type of more immediate platforming game.
I think it's a balance between player expectation (assuming it's one sort of puzzle game) and the fact that it's actually more of a 'key-pressing' game (i.e. that it's less about the dynamic of the character on screen running and jumping, but more about pressing left left x c c space etc...
16, I would say it's an error on your end; if the barrel is on the conveyor, and the conveyor is moving, the barrel should move.
Games not loading for me anymore.
Level 19 is irritating. Rage quit.

Level 14
The button is a timer, so the trick to this level is getting to the top fast.
Start by climbing to the top. Drop three barrels off the ledge by pushing barrel right one space to be able to climb over, then climbing over and pushing left.
Push last barrel right one space.
Drop down, press button. Climb to top of stack of barrels, and from there to top.
Walk across to exit, climbing over last barrel.
Level 15
Climb up twice, and over barrel.
Step on button and push barrel left off edge.
If necessary, step on button again to turn on blue laser.
Push barrel right four spaces.
Return to button and turn off blue laser.
Go down, and stand on barrel. As soon as laser turns off, climb down and push barrel right. You can move it two or maybe three spaces before the laser comes on again. Climb back on barrel to wait out the laser.
Continue until you can reach right ledge from barrel.
Catgrab lowest ledge. As soon as laser disappears, X then Up to get into catgrab on next ledge. Hold that position until path to next ledge is clear. Repeat until you get to top.
Press button on top left.
Return to bottom by jumping and using catgrab position to avoid lasers.
The space on the bottom is too wide to cross without getting vaporized, so use the barrel again to safely cross.
Climb up and cross gap. Climb over barrel and push left until you can jump through gap. Exit.
Level 16
Stand the buttons in the following order, from left to right: 1, 5, 2, 4, 3. Stay on each button until the barrel falls off the conveyor belt.
DO NOT step on fourth button until after the barrel falls off the conveyor for button 2.
Level 17
Push right barrel on bottom level to right wall.
Push right barrel on top level off ledge. Climb down and push same barrel off ledge again.
Stand on same barrel, face left, Down to catgrab. Jump three gaps to top left button WITHOUT activating conveyor. If the conveyor activates, go back and push barrel back to wall and try again.
Jump up two levels, push top right barrel to right off ledge. Go down and push it off ledge.
Go back to top level and drop down center gap. Continue to center top button, and hold down until barrel is off conveyor.
Return to conveyor and push barrel off ledge.
Stand on stack of barrels and push barrel onto button.
Stand on barrel you just dropped, and cross three gaps. Push bottom left barrel to wall.
Push top left barrel off two ledges.
Stand on barrel you just pushed and jump to top left button.
Climb up, and push last barrel on top ledge to the left. Climb down and push same barrel off ledge again.
Walk across top platform to center gap. Go to top center button to activate conveyor. Return to conveyor and push barrel into gap.
Stand on stack of barrels and push barrel onto button.
Cross gap, and push barrel off ledge to right.
Climb down and push barrel into gap between buttons.
Climb up to the right of the right stack of barrels. Push bottom barrel off ledge.
Climb down and push barrel into gap to left of button.
Return to stack of barrels and push bottom barrel off ledge. Climb down and push barrel onto left button.
Repeat, pushing last barrel from that stack onto bottom right button.
Return to right, climb up to second level of platforms. Cross over to center button. From there drop to bottom level and exit.
Level 18
Push right barrel right. Push left barrel left. The blue laser will disappear. DO NOTHING and character will hang from ledge in catgrab.
Once barrel is in place, drop.
Jump OVER button -- if you hit the button you will need to restart.
Cross gap and climb up. Press top left button.
Climb down and wait for moving platform to extend. Jump to platform and from there safely drop to ground. Move quickly so you get down before the platform retracts.
Go to the right and climb up ledges to exit.
Level 19
This level is all about timing.
Get in catgrab position on center left platform. As soon as bottom red laser disappears, climb up, jump to next platform, and get in catgrab position again.
Once top laser disappears, climb up and jump to next ledge.
Press top left button.
Wait in catgrab position on ledge right above top red laser. The moving platform and lasers are not synced, so eventually there will be a point where the lasers will be off and you can drop onto the platform. Face right and go into catgrab again.
It may be possible to climb onto platform as it approaches the right and jump onto right platform. If not, you can stand on moving platform and go into catgrab on the opposite side. If you are hanging off the outside of the platform when it hits the stationary platform, you will fall down and will have to restart.
Once safely on right stationary platform, quickly jump up to ledge. Climb up and press top right button.
Again, hang in catgrab position on ledge just above red laser. As soon as laser disappears, jump onto platform and drop to exit.
Level 20
Enter teleporter.
Cross gap and enter top right teleporter in that chamber.
Press button and return through same teleporter.
Enter bottom left teleporter in chamber.
Enter bottom left teleporter in next chamber you find yourself in.
Step off teleporter to the left and enter bottom left teleporter.
Cross gap and stand on button.
Drop and enter left teleporter.
Enter top left teleporter in new chamber.
Climb up and enter top left teleporter. Push barrel off ledge.
Return through same teleporter. Drop down and enter bottom teleporter.
Drop down and enter bottom right teleporter.
Push barrel onto button.
Return through same teleporter. Enter top left teleporter. In next chamber, enter top left teleporter.
Jump up and enter top teleporter. Exit.
It's a good game, but it needs an "undo" option. Getting through almost the entire level only to press the wrong key and kill yourself makes the game ridiculously frustrating.
I just finished game and I think It's great. But I think so NOW. When I played it and had to repeat whole level, because I felt down and died just before reaching exit, I thought this game is #@**#!! (really frustrating). And I'm sure it's rather low rating is result of that.
Like Juxta I think UNDO button is really needed. I know that this could interfere with time measuring, so maybe make two modes?
Maybe it's just me, but I noticed that I can change game speed when I was in level 19, so a bit late (although it's propably usufull only in that level). I think this feature should be more exposed.
And, I would love to play more levels or see sequel soon!
