Blossom Spring Escape Walkthrough

General Information

  • There is only one way out of the room.

  • There are 21 pink flowers scattered throughout the room. Gathering them is a side quest, and you don't need to find all of them to escape.

  • This walkthrough will include directions for the colorblind where possible.

  • Good luck!

Exploration

  • You begin facing a long blue couch between two narrow shelves. There are two pink flowers in this view, one on the couch, one in the lower right corner of the room.

  • Click on the left set of shelves for a close up.

  • There's a door here, but it appears to be screwed shut.

  • There is also a pink flower in the yellow flowers above the door.

  • Back up.

  • There appears to be a hatch in the ceiling above the left shelf unit, but we can't click on it.

  • Click on the right set of shelves for a close up.

  • Here's another door, this one needs a 4 digit code of some sort.

  • There's a pink flower on the shelf above the flamingo.

  • Back up.

  • Turn right.

  • You are now facing a door and a low table.

  • There are three pink flowers in the scene, in the lower left corner, in the lower right corner, and in one of the windows above the door.

  • Click on the table for a close up.

  • There's a small drawer in the table, but it's stuck.

  • There's a plate of candies on the left, some candles in the middle, and an odd looking board with a grid on the right.

  • There's a small pink flower in the plate of candies.

  • Back up.

  • You can click on the door for a close up, but it's locked.

  • Turn right.

  • You are now facing another door. There is a narrow unit on the left with light fixtures on it and a mirror between the unit and the door.

  • There are four pink flowers in the scene: on the floor to the left of the unit, in some flowers on the lower shelf of the unit, right below the mirror, and in the lower right corner of the room.

  • Click on the lighting unit for a close up.

  • You can turn on each of the light fixtures individually using switches that are to the right of the fixtures. The top fixture is red light, the middle is yellow, and the bottom is blue.

  • You can also see the mirror in close up and there is a light switch below the mirror. Clicking on the switch makes the mirror glow.

  • There are two pink flowers here: one above the light fixtures and one below the mirror.

  • Back up.

  • Click on the drawer below the mirror.

  • Looks like this drawer is locked.

  • There is a pink flower on the floor below the drawer in the close up.

  • Back up.

  • You can click on the door for a close up, but it's locked as well.

  • Turn right.

  • You are now facing a chair with a large plant to the right.

  • There is a small bookshelf above the chair.

  • There are three pink flowers in this scene: two in the windows at the top of the wall, one on the chair.

  • Click on the bookshelf above the chair for a close up.

  • There's a putty knife on the shelf with the books, take it.

  • Look between the shorter and taller of the books, there is a piece of paper wedged there, take it.

  • If you examine the paper you will see a series of colors with their proper names. There is also the faint image of a flamingo on the paper.

  • There is one pink flower in this scene, on top of the laying down books.

  • Back up.

  • Click on the plant for a close up.

  • Wow, the poor thing looks very dry.

  • There is a pink flower in the gravel surrounding the plant. There is another pink flower on the plant itself, on a branch to the right.

  • Back up.

  • Turn right.

  • Time to solve some puzzles!

The Left Shelves Door

  • You should now be facing the couch again, with the narrow shelves on either side.

  • Click on the left unit for a close up.

  • The door is screwed shut and we don't have a screwdriver.

  • We do, however, have this handy putty knife, I bet it would work.

  • Use the putty knife on the screws.

  • The door opens, revealing a wooden figurine of a flower. Take the figurine.

  • Back up.

The Table Drawer

  • Turn right to face the table with the candles.

  • Since the putty knife was so handy, let's see if it works on the stuck drawer.

  • Pay dirt! Take the matches from the drawer.

The Right Shelves Door

  • You should still be in a close up of the table with the candles.

  • Well, we now have matches, let's use them on the candles.

  • Okay, that was interesting. The candles burned down.

  • Notice their relative heights?

  • That may be important later.

  • Back up and turn left to face the couch.

  • Click on the right shelving unit for a close up.

  • There's the door that needs a four digit code of some sort. Click on the code key for a close up.

  • It needs a color code!

    • The code for the lock is the height of the candles.

    • From the lowest candle to the highest, the colors are pink, blue, yellow, and green.

    • That's the code for the lock.

    • For the colorblind: Click (from the left) the first button twice, the second button three times, don't click the third button at all, and the fourth button once.

  • Once you've entered the code click the button below the code to open the door.

  • And we have a lot of colored eggs!

The Eggs

  • You should still be in the close up of the right shelves door with the colored eggs.

  • There are eight eggs here of various colors.

  • Where have we seen something with eight colors on it?

  • How about that note we found on the bookshelf?

    • If you look at the note from the bookshelf you will notice two things: (1) the colors in the note correspond to the colors in the eggs, and (2) the picture of a flamingo on the note.

    • There is also a flamingo on the shelf above the eggs.

    • If you look closely at the words describing the colors, the first letters of the words can be scrambled to form an eight letter word - Flamingo.

    • Therefore you should rearrange the eggs, going from left to right, to spell out flamingo.

    • Top shelf: Fuchsia, Lime, Aqua, Maroon.

    • Bottom Shelf: Indigo, Navy, Green, Orange.

    • Click on two eggs to swap their positions.

    • I'm not sure how to give directions for the colorblind for this one.

  • Once the eggs are in the correct order a hidden shelf will pop out with a key. Take the key.

  • Back up.

The Bathroom

  • Turn right to face the table with the candles.

  • We have a key, but it is entirely too early to be making our escape. Besides, there are two doors, and only one of them leads out.

  • Click on the door to the right of the table for a close up.

  • Use the key on the door and voila, a bathroom!

  • On the right is a cabinet and a closed shelf above it. Click on the shelf above the cabinet for a close up.

  • Click on the door to open it. Hey, it worked! Something that's not locked or stuck!

  • Look closely, there are two symbols here.

  • On the left is something that looks like the wooden flower figurine we already picked up.

  • On the right is something that looks like a deformed Christmas tree.

  • Back up.

  • Click on the shower for a close up.

  • If you click on the faucet you will see that you can turn the water on and off. Yay.

  • Taped to the wall is a picture of a flower and the word "blossom". Note that some of the letters are a different color than the others.

  • Back up.

  • Click on the cabinet in the right side of the room, the one that looks like it has a code lock.

  • Click on the lock for a close up. Yep, we need a four digit number.

  • Have we seen any clues for this?

    • Does the font for those numbers look familiar?

    • It looks a lot like the font used in the word "blossom" on the wall.

    • In fact, the numbers are green, just like the middle four letters of "blossom".

    • When you look at it closely, those four middle letters, OSSO also look like 0550.

    • The code is 0550.

  • Once you've entered the code click on the button below the code.

  • Yay, an open cabinet!

  • There is a glass on the left, take it.

  • There is a note on the towel on the right, take it.

  • The note says NEWS = URLD. I'm sure that means something.

  • Back up.

The Thirsty Plant

  • You know, that plant next to the chair looked awful dry.

  • And we have a glass and a water source near to hand.

  • Click on the shower for a close up.

  • Click on the faucet to turn the water on.

  • Use the glass on the water to get a glass of water.

  • Back up twice.

  • Turn right (or left) twice until you are facing the chair.

  • Click on the plant to the right of the chair for a close up.

  • Water the plant.

  • Wow, it bloomed!

  • Look closely at the flowers, they may be important later.

  • Back up.

The Wooden Board

  • Turn left (or right) twice to face the table with the candles.

  • Click on the table for a close up, then click on the wooden board on the right for a close up.

  • This looks like a very complicated grid. There is also a hole in the top left that looks like something could be placed in it.

  • How about the wooden flower figurine?

  • Well, it fits, but now what?

    • You need to move the figurine around on the board, tracing a path that matches the symbol on the shelf in the bathroom, the one that looked like a deformed Christmas tree.

    • Move the figurine by clicking on one of the round shapes in the corners of the squares on the board.

    • When you are done, the figurine will end up on the top left corner of the board.

    • Here's a screenshot of the solution.

  • Once you've figured out what to do with the figurine, a secret drawer will pop open with a note. Take the note.

  • The note has arrows on it and the word RULES. I'm sure that means something.

  • Back up.

The Mysterious Hatch

  • Turn left to see the couch.

  • There's that hatch in the ceiling above the left shelving unit. Wonder if we can reach it?

  • Click on the left shelving unit for a close up.

  • Once you are in close up, click at the top of the screen and yes, we can now look up!

  • There appear to be four dials up here which can turn in six different directions.

  • Have we seen any sort of clue for this?

    • Remember the flowers that bloomed when we watered the plant?

    • They were pretty and colorful, and each one had a single green petal that pointed in one of six directions.

    • From top to bottom they were: upper left, down, lower left, and lower right.

    • Set the dials in the same directions, from left to right.

  • If you set the dials correctly the hatch will spring open!

  • Take the object that is lurking up there (code box) and back up.

The Code Box

  • Pull up the code box from your inventory.

  • There are four buttons on the top of the box, like the points of a compass.

  • Have we seen any clues for this combination?

    • There are actually two clues for this.

    • One is the note that said NEWS = URDL. Those are ordinal (compass) directions turned into up, right, down, and left.

    • The second clue is the note that says RULES with the arrows on it.

    • That is directing us to push the buttons in this order: right, up, left, east (right), and south (down).

  • Once you've pushed the buttons on the box top in the correct order, click on the yellow button in the front of the box.

  • And...that gets us another note. With a 3 x 3 grid and a bunch of numbers.

The Mirror and the Lights

  • Turn left (or right) twice to face the mirror and the colored lights.

  • Click on the lights for a close up.

  • Click on the switch below the mirror to make the mirror glow.

  • If you click around on the surface of the mirror you will soon find that there are flowers there that change color.

  • And that the flowers form a 3 x 3 grid.

  • So how do we figure out what color to make the flowers?

    • Look at the note that we got from the code box.

    • The numbers in the note are in a 3 x 3 grid.

    • Some are single numbers, some are combinations of two numbers.

    • Notice that the numbers are only 1, 2, or 3.

    • Why, we have three of something right next to the mirror! That would be the colored light fixtures.

    • Perhaps if we numbered them from top to bottom, 1 (red), 2 (yellow), and 3 (blue).

    • If you play with the switches, you will notice that when you have two of the lights on their colors combine to create a third color.

    • So perhaps the single numbers on the note grid are the lights, and the combination numbers are what happens when you combine the lights?

    • It is important to know your color wheel. Red + blue = purple. Red + yellow = orange. Blue + yellow = green.

    • So the note would imply what colors to change the flowers on the mirror to.

    • Top row (left to right): 1 + 3 (purple), 1 + 2 (orange), 1 (red).

    • Middle row (left to right): 2 (yellow), 3 (blue), 1 + 3 (purple.

    • Bottom row (left to right): 2 + 3 (green), 1 (red), 2 (yellow).

    • For the colorblind: The first time you click on a flower and it becomes visible, it is yellow.

    • So for the top row (left to right): 4 clicks, 2 clicks, 3 clicks.

    • Middle row: 1 click, 5 clicks, 4 clicks.

    • Bottom row: 6 clicks, 3 clicks, 1 click.

  • Once you enter the flowers correctly back up and click below the mirror for a close up.

  • Click on the drawer below the mirror to open it.

  • Take the key and back up.

Getting Out

  • You have the key, so all you have to do is click on the door next to the mirror for a close up.

  • Use the key on the door and you're out.

  • The game will tell you how many flowers you found in the end.

Not too easy, not too hard. And nice-looking as well. A good Weekday Escape.

Thought I was doing OK, until I got to the eggs....Hmmmmm

Reply

I'm a bit stuck.

Have:

Paper with list of colors, spatula, and I lost track of how many pink blossoms.

Don't have:
A clue what to do next. :[

Oh, forgot: I also had

a little flower statuette that I've put on the criss-crossed game board thing.

Everything was going really well, and now I'm stuck. I have

A paper with a picture of four connected arrows that says "rules" and another paper that says "news=urld" I also watered the plant and now see those flowers with one green petal each. I have no idea what any of those things are clues to, because I think the only thing I have to solve is what to do with those three lights. I can't do anything with the mirror-looking thing with the blossoms on it yet.

There's one really painful bug in the bathroom. If you enter a code and walk away, when you come back, the code will show as all 0's but the numbers will actually save whatever you previously entered. It kept me from getting that code for a bit, even though I was sure I had it. If you think you know the code, try clicking all the digits around until they are all showing zero again, then try to enter the code. Other than that, it's pretty good!

Reply

Ah! Got it, and the spatula is now used up. Thanks grinnyp!

Reply

Coldfrog - My god, thank you for that. I kept entering that same !!!! code forward, backward, upside down. Your tip worked perfectly. So thanks!

Out!

Missed 3 flowers, though...oh well, that's for another day.

Help! I have NO idea how to solve the colored eggs. I've used the

twice and

lit the candles

but don't have a clue what to do now...

Thx for the walkthru grinnyp!

Wow, this was nice!!!
Reminds of a good Tesshi-e.

Rhed:

Did you find

the slip of paper with the eggs' colors written on it?

If you did, compare that to

the bird pictured on it, which is also the one right above the eggs.

Not bad! I especially like that it tells you when you don't have the information to solve a puzzle. I play these games in the morning before work, and I don't have a whole lot of time, so this is great for not wasting it.

Thanks grinnyp!

Nice one. Hard, but not too hard - could beat it without a walkthru - though at one point (egg-puzzle) I had to resolve to a hunch :)

That was fun! Nice and relaxing Weekday Escape. This is one of the few puzzles I've done lately where I haven't gotten so totally stuck that I just wanted to throw my computer threw a plate glass window. Grinnyp I love your walkthroughs. They are always clean and very easy to understand, thank-you. Your commentaries on the games themselves are always fun to read as well as I always find myself reading through them completely before playing. Happy Spring and or Beltane people!!!

Really nice escape game, thanks GrinnyP!
The last puzzle was a stumper though, so very grateful for the walkthrough :~)

Reply

I love when an escape game is this straightforward and simply fun. Only had to refer to the walkthrough once on the puzzle

where OSSO = 0550

Waaay overthought that one. Thanks for another great pick, grinnyp!

Reply

I don't know my up from my down.

I had an awful time with the color flowers on the mirror. I finally consulted grinnyp's walk through and used the color blind hint. Then I realized that the only colors I had correct were the yellow flowers (middle) color light. I had switched the red (top) with the blue (bottom).

Thanks grinnyp!

Really fun, puzzles weren't too hard, and the colours/whole feel of the game was lovely! Loved it :)

Walkthrough for the eggs for the colorblind

I will use numbers for the position of the eggs, so the top row from left to right is 1, 2, 3, 4 and the bottom row accordingly 5, 6, 7, 8.
To get the correct color sequence change the pairs in this order:
1 - 2
2 - 5
3 - 5
4 - 6
5 - 6
6 - 7
Now the key should appear.
