Mike Morin (ImpendingRiot), the creator of the Alice is Dead series, finally makes his anticipated return to the point-and-click adventure scene with Myosotis: Chapter 1. In this solemn, moody noir-esque tale, you play as Rick, a private investigator who receives a letter from Lily, the woman he once loved, begging him to come meet her at a hotel. Although he hasn't seen or heard from her in years, his heart won't let him ignore her, and he decides to head to the hotel to look for her... you know, because that worked out so well for James Sunderland.
To play, just click on objects on the screen, and Rick will move towards them to interact if he can. Narration appears at the bottom of the screen as you move around and explore. Things quickly take a turn for the weird when Rick arrives at the hotel; it seems mostly deserted, and the only employee at the elevator claims to be expecting him. Just keep your wits about you and pay attention to your surroundings and any words you find, since puzzles are self-contained in each area.
Play the entire Myosotis series:
Myosotis is definitely strange, but if there's one thing it really excels at, it's creating an air of mystery. The visuals are simple but evocative, and the music by the multi-talented Evil Dog and Hania Lee, is a perfect fit. As a first installment of a new series, while it's fairly short at around ten to fifteen minutes provided none of the puzzles stymie you, it also does an excellent job of snagging your interest and making you want to know more, especially in the final few rooms you'll encounter. Gorgeous, surreal, mysterious, and even a little bit creepy, Myosotis: Chapter 1 is more than worth the short time it'll take you to complete it, and will have you anxiously awaiting the next installment... and answers.

Myosotis Ch 1 walkthrough
Intro
Keep clicking to the left until you get to the elevator.
Click on the man and wait for the elevator to open. Enter, then click the door on the left to enter the hotel room.
Look in the drawer to the right and click on the photo for a bit of story.
Then click the lamp on the left end table and enter the secret door.
What is the correct solution?
Click the items to pick your solution or solutions, then click the button on the right to confirm. A correct answer unlocks the door on the left.
The flickering part of the sign gives you a hint.
Since the "C" is flickering, select the items that start with "C" (the clock, cow, and cat). Hit the button on the right and exit the door on the left.
Read between the lines
Enter the code to open the door on the right. The lights above the door will tell you if you've entered the right key at the right time.
You can try to brute force a solution, or pick up the envelope under the door to the left and read the note for a clue.
The words "up," "down," "left," and "right" appear in sequence in the note and correspond with the four buttons. Enter the code from the note.
Up, Right, Down, Up, Left, Right
White Darkness
Darkness usually means you can't see something, but in this case the darkness is apparently white.
Flick the lightswitch to the right of the door. Click where the arrow says and enter the door that is revealed.
To open the door, two must make four
Walk over to the button. Push the button when the number that will open the door is shown on the screen.
The "two" in the clue refers to two digits.
The solution is "13", as 1 + 3 makes 4. Enter the door on the left
Remain calm
Click the man, and he will give you a clue.
Look in the man's bowl for another clue.
Click the panel next to the door on the left. Click the buttons to select the correct answers.
The letters in the bowl spell "green." Select only green foods for each of the three slots (celery, lettuce, broccoli). Enter the unlocked door on the left.
Finale
Keep proceeding left. Talk to the men and read the envelopes along the way for more clues about the story, though you don't have to.
When you enter the room with the body, click on the creepy eldritch box.
Watch the final scene. TO BE CONTINUED!
