From the BBC show featuring the same Blobs comes this cute little Flash game that is actually a bit of a challenge. Similar to the classic Lunar Lander game, the objective of Blob Lander is to fly and land your spaceship gracefully. Play Blob Lander.
Also on the BBC Blobs site, you can even play a QBert game with Blobs.
Update: Although the BBC has taken the Blobs site offline, you can still play the Blob Lander game, mirrored here for posterity.

Thank you very much, Shelly, for letting me know, and I am pleased you like the site. I try very hard to maintain the site the best I can, yet there are literally hundreds of games that I have reviewed here, and it gets a little difficult to keep track of them all.
The game you left a comment on is working just fine, perhaps you have pop-up blocking enabled for this site? If so, you really should allow pop-ups here, as the only pop-ups you will receive on this site will be the games you click on. There are no ads, spyware, or malicious code of any kind running behind the scenes here.
Let me know if you continue to have difficulty with the site.

I'm also having trouble loading up the game... nothing's happening and I have no pop up blockers.
Posted by: gemma | January 28, 2005 10:42 AM
I don't know what to say, Gemma. I just tried the game myself, and was able to play with no problem and I am accessing the site remotely just as everyone else is. There doesn't appear to be a problem with it.

you have to let the page fully load before clicking the popup window.

Hi, I'm not being funny, but I experienced the same problems as shelley! This was resolved by first taking down the pop-up blocker on Google toolbar, also dropping Norton Personal Firewall, AND adjusting the settings of that annoying microsoft firewall that they're loving at the moment! Since doing that, I have had no problems accessing any of the games!

Jay, I just found your site and it is incredible; I've been playing every game on here, and not having any troubles with them poppin up, BUT this Blob one will not pop up and it says "error on page" at the bottom! The rest of the games work fine for me though.

anony - Thanks very much for the kind words, and for letting me know you're having trouble with the link.
I just tried it and it appears to be working fine for me. What OS and browser are you using?
I don't really know what to suggest if all the other games work for you. Sorry. =(

Ok, I might be adding slightly rudentant information here, but I found I couldn't load the game from the link either. I'm using IE 6 and all the other games so far have worked (I disabled the pop up blocker as soon as I got that update)!
The only way I could play this one was to right click on the link, select "open in new window" and then delete everything but the URL.
Not ideal, but hopefully that will help people that are having difficulties.

Also, please ignore my spelling of "redundant" in the previous post

Well, as a Professional Developer (tm), I thought I would pass on some of my Professional Expertise (patent pending): since the game opens on a full screen anyway, just put the plain link in with a target (deprecated, yes, but still works in all browsers) instead of that OpenJBWindow() business. My browser also had trouble with all that excess RDF/RSS/XML stuff; perhaps whatever tool you're using doesn't put out completely conformant content.
I notice you sneakily not mentioning which browser you're using.... :)
Posted by: Brook | July 27, 2005 8:46 PM
Brook - I have no idea what on Earth you are running on about (and who is "sneakily not mentioning" their browser?).
The JavaScript code that gets executed when clicking either the image or the "Click" links above opens a pop-up window into which the Blob Lander game from the BBC website appears.
If anyone is having trouble, it is most likely due to a pop-up blocker you have. Either tell your software to allow pop-ups from this site, or simply click the "Blob Lander" link above to open the game in a new browser window.
This ain't rocket science, and my code does indeed conform to Web standards.

A lot of fun. Games like this game keep me going for hours on end trying to get past my last score. I love your site jay!

Well, I've beaten the pants off this game. Gone way past two levels. Don't even lose my little Blobs anymore unless I'm rushing.
Was there ever an update to this game or is this "all it is?"

this link is broken, anybody else have a link to the game?
Posted by: Jake | February 19, 2007 4:43 PM
Jake - you're right, the BBC has taken the Blobs site down. Fortunately, I had saved the game file and am mirroring it here for posterity.

I hate when games don't have sound controls. I can't play the game and listen to my music undisturbed. Especially at work, where I play these games.

Well Jay,
Once again, I have beaten the pants off this game. I keep getting to the end without losing a blob.
Was there ever any kind of level three or update to this game?
