Though the sandbox nature of Dino Topia makes for a relaxing gaming experience overall, those who like an extra challenge will thoroughly enjoy the roguelike battles that pit you against powerful bosses and mobs.
These boss fights include dangerous AoEs that appear on the ground, forcing you to memorise mechanics to improve your chances of survival.
The base building feature requires you and your dino allies to collect a range of resources along your travels. As well as making space for a farm, you can also upgrade your base, whilst simultaneously expanding it for more structures.
As you improve your farm, you'll start to grow a range of new crops, which are used to feed your dino companions. Assign tasks to them so that they keep on top of watering the plants and harvesting them when they're ready.
Collect Dinos and Hatch Them!
The more dinosaurs you collect, the better. You can take them with you on perilous ventures while others stay back at base to maintain the farm for food. Whilst on missions, you have a chance to find new allies, as well as rare resources.
Plus, just look at them, they're adorable. There's a plethora of unique designs for each one, which becomes even more exciting when you start breeding them.
It wouldn't be a creature collecting game without hatching! You can breed dinosaurs together so that you can hatch new ones that have upgraded traits.
Have fun with it and experiment - you never know what might come out. You can download the Dino Topia demo via Steam now.
