Another site where you can play Solitaire is nothing new, but Free Solitaire might be one of the best in a very crowded class.

Boasting multiple variations of the card game classic, it has a great user interface and even has multiple other useful extras such as a guides section for first time players.

But if you are one of those new players it's probably best to go over the basic rules of Solitaire first. So let's do just that.

How Do You Play?

As mentioned, there are many variants of Solitaire - but most revolve around the same foundations.

This involves dealing out your 52 cards into four piles. These are called the Tableau, The Foundations, The Stock, and The Talon.

You start left to right, with the card being placed into seven piles - this is the Tableau. The first card on each pile is placed face up, with the rest face down.

That's the main playing area, with the rest of the cards in the Stock pile. This is where you draw cards from, and ones you don't want go into the Talon pile.

Then the four foundation piles where you have to build up the foundations for each of the four suits across the deck. Now if all that sounds complicated, don't worry - Solitaire is actually one of the most intuitive solo card games out there.

Every Skill Level Catered For

And even if you don't quite grasp how it all works, the previously mentioned guide section on FreeSolitaire.com is a massive help.

Not just for general tips, but also to aid you through the many variations present on the site. This includes traditional Solitaire, but also a number of tried and tested variants such as Spider Solitaire and Freecell.

Every variation is available to play in full-screen mode too, and can be played on every device - including desktop, mobile, and tablet.

So FreeSolitaire.com is definitely the place to check out if you're looking for a quick game of Solitaire - whatever version of the card game classic you're looking for, it almost certainly has you covered.
