Birthdays are always stressful, never more so than for the harried parent. You've got to make sure all the kids get the right presents and keep everyone safe and be extra careful no one gets a bigger slice of cake. It's especially stressful in Alexander Fedoseev's physics puzzle game Gift Rush 3, since you're a tiny spider-ball-thing with a mess of sleepy kids who need their cake. Luckily, they're heavy sleepers. In the latest entry in the Gift Rush series, you click to shoot strands of web to swing around each of the 20 levels, trying to get the cake to your kid or your kid to the cake, which ever is easiest. You can grab the sleepy toddlers by pulling them close and you can press the [spacebar] to drop them. Just make sure you don't grab the cake by mistake. Your harried little spider person just can't help himself when he's too close to cake, and he'll scarf it down.
Gift Rush 3 is easily accessible, and it goes by a bit quick. It might be best suited for younger gamers who are discovering the joys of Cut The Rope or Wake The Royalty. Needless to say, this game is as cute as a button, no mean feat when it focuses around spiders, a creature that only exists to eat mosquitoes and fuel nightmares. The game's controls are tight and responsive. Your spider always goes where he's supposed to, meaning gameplay relies heavily on your ability to maneuver and react. Things might have been improved with some pits or spikes or something. Well, maybe not spikes, this is a kid's game after all, but some more variety in obstacles could have improved things. As it stands it's still a lot of fun watching your legless puff ball bounce through each level knocking aside boxes and avoiding the cake... seriously, learn some self control, spider guy. If you're young, or inexperienced, or just looking for a cute, chill, physics-based time waster, Gift Rush 3 is where it's at.
Gave up on level 6, I don't see any way to get past the cake without eating it.
Here's how I did it:
Go to the outlined spot on the left. Use your web to get the cake to fall into the hole. Go get the baby. With the baby, go back and position yourself right above the hole, holding the baby with your feet. Drop into the hole so that the baby falls first onto the cake and there you are :).
I like this game a lot, but I wish the interface was better. A lot of moves require clicking on the "ceiling" with great timing and accuracy, but this is a strip of computer screen about 5 mm tall. It is very easy to accidentally click on my bookmarks and ruin the game immediately.
