With millions of views and subscriptions to the videos on their YouTube channel, the guys at Dude Perfect have brought the first trick shot basketball game to the mobile market in this self titled app. It brings all the fun and excitement of all their ridiculous feats into your hands. It boasts not only the first of its kind gameplay for a sports title, but it is also the number one best selling app in its catergory! Both Android and iOS device users can pick this game up, start practicing their skill shots, and show off their mad skills any time. You just be sure to leave the real, crazy trick shots to the professionals, okay?
You, being a trick shot trainee, must make your ball into the basketball net to complete each stage. To set up your trick shot, tap a spot on the screen and drag your finger in the opposite direction from where you want it to go. The skill shots are all about finesse so the power and direction of your shot is changed by the distance and direction you drag your finger. If you think your shot is perfect as can be, just take your finger off the screen and watch the action unfold.
You get three tries to sink the shot so no worries if your first shot is an air ball. Each level has a "target score" to test out your trick shot prowess. The best and only way to rack up the points needed to pass is by bouncing your shots off of multiple objects and make the bucket. The more skillful players will get bonus points for not using all of their shots so choose those shots carefully.
Dude Perfect is a well designed sports game that gives players an experience that other sports apps cannot offer. The arcade style of beat-the-high-score gameplay doesn't zone out any non-basketball aficionados, but invites any player who enjoys some physics fun. The two player mode and Facebook score posting ability keeps the game fun and competitive with friends. If the high score race keep you on the court, then trying out each member of the Dude Perfect crew should peek your interest. There are even small micro-transactions in the app's store to expand your gaming experience like a level editor to visualize your own perfect skills shots or extra characters. You must part with a little cash if you want to roll with the Dude Perfect crew or their expansions, but it pays for itself when you can't keep your fingers off of it.
NOTE: This game was played and reviewed on an HTC Evo. Game was available in the North American market at the time of publication, but may not be available in other territories. Please see individual app market pages for purchasing info.
