10 Gnomes 3

JohnB10 Gnomes episode 3: Early Spring Garden has been released! The third installment in the 10 Gnomes series by Submachine author Mateusz Skutnik continues the point-and-click "find the gnome" gameplay that holds our attention for precisely ten minutes. The goal is simple: click your way through a photographic landscape searching for hidden cartoon gnomes. You only have ten minutes to find all ten, so speed is just as important as a sharp eye.

Photographic images, all toned down to grayscale, make up the environment in each 10 Gnomes episode. This installment drops you in a garden where gnomes have hidden themselves behind bushes and inside bamboo stalks all around the area. Using the mouse, simply pan left and right searching for hotspots that allow you to zoom in for a closer look. Explore every nook and cranny of the eerily quiet garden to find the gnomes before time runs out.

What 10 Gnomes offers is glaringly simple: a streamlined hidden object game clothed in point-and-click robes. Its premise can be summed up in one terse sentence and you can easily make your way through each episode before your coffee gets cold. But what makes the games special is the sleek, almost artsy feel to the entire presentation, right down to the grayscale photographs and dark, troubled music. But of course you're searching for happy little gnomes, so it isn't as serious as it sounds.

Another great installment in the simple but fun series. Play 10 Gnomes episode 3: Early Spring Garden.

This was a real treat to get my mind off the design work I should be doing. I always enjoy the "10 gnomes" games and this one feels so much more seamless than the other two. I always wish the gnomes would become funky colors after you click on them...just to make me laugh.

However, I did notice that:

image
It is difficult to click on the gnomes who are only showing their eyes and some scenes like the one with the drainpipe. Perhaps this could easily be fixed.

Thanks for posting this JohnB.

I liked the path in that one. I managed to find all 10 on my own. I think that's a first. :)

Easiest gnomes so far. Found them all in 3 minutes time. Much less then i needed for the first 2. Was still a fun gnomes :)

As with all of Mateusz's games it's just very peacful to play and it slows you down enough to take in both the art of the photography and styling and the fact that you're quite happily and leisurely looking for little Gnomes.

Reminds me of being a child in the garden.

Oh those days *sob*

What an awesome way to start the day. I even managed to find them all myself, this time...maybe the secret is to play this game before having coffee?

In any case, this is another wonderful installment of the gnome series. The only tricky bit is that some of the hotspots are really small and it can take a bit of luck to land in the right place, but that doesn't really negatively affect the gameplay at all as long as you're patient.

Either I'm getting better at this or this one was easier (please say its the first!) because I managed to finish this all on my own! But the

image
drainpipe and the urn/pot with only the eyes showing

were hard to click.

Never played this game before, but I scored 10605 points! :) So I had 6:05 left? Not bad for a hide-and-seek game, especially for a nitwit like me!

This one was the eastiest by far!! i did it all by myself and got a score of 10517! yay for me!!!

Definitely the easiest so far, but so beautiful, as usual. What, no scary hand this time?
More Mateuscz please!

Joye - lately, every time you comment you post 2 identical comments. How are you doing this? I try to prevent it, but you seem to be able to do it consistently every time. :(

That was fun :o)
This was the first one where I was able to find all 10 gnomes. I went back to play episode 2. Much more difficult.

I love these little gnome games, theres something so calming about them. I guess I had 5:51 left when I found all of them!

I think this one was a lot easier than the other 2, but maybe I just looked more and explored the different scenes being more careful not to miss a spot to click.

I finished it with about 7 minutes left, and all on my own! YAY!!!

I'm finding this third one unplayable, even with the walkthrough. The view keeps getting stuck at the scene with the plant pots, and I'm also unable to find the gnome in the pot. I'd pixel hunt if there was something to spot - but a printscreen shows that there's just blackness there. :(

Looks like I happened to be playing it while the site was suffering from technical problems, or something. It's working now, and I finished it (with a little help ;D)
