There's no way to make them move faster. You can, however, try to start a new game with "runners", people who have running in their like preferences. Villagers who like running will run everywhere, really fast.

Here's a screenshot of the sweet herb, it's above the lab.

To teach in the nursery an adult must be adept in at least 3 skills.

To get water in the pot you must use the bowls that you can see over by the cliff. At the top of the cliff is a pile of bowls that is for fresh water, at the bottom of the cliff is a pile of bowls for salt water. Drop an adult on one of the piles and they will collect water and take it to the pot.

What seems to be the specific problem when starting the feast?
As for the big majestic fish, that's where your fish scale collection goes.
Hi guys
Re: The Feast
I found it easier to prepare a few things first
Fill pot with fresh water (don't boil yet)
Put a stone in the fire and leave it there until you need it
Collect all spices
now wait for a mushroom to appear
as soon as you see the mushroom put the hot stone from the fire into the pot
then put the spices in
now you can send your villagers to add the blackberries, food from food bin, fish, fruit from the trees (your villager will cook the fruit first) and mushroom
If it continues to say Unfinished stew cooking then you may have put your villagers by a food but they don't always collect right away, you have to place them on the food again. I ended up adding 2 fish and 2 mushrooms and the stew still cooked so it shouldn't be a problem adding multiple ingredients.
I hope this helps...Happy eats ! :o)

The stinging wasps are a random event, they eventually go away.

If you check the walkthrough above, there are precise directions for each of the puzzles. Puzzle 14 is simply making a special stew and having all of your villagers eat it, but it requires at least 20 villagers. Puzzle 16 is a complex process and requires that hummingbirds have shown up in your game.
jordan, you need to drop someone on the food hut after the stew is cooking; I was trying to cure wasps stings by getting all 58 people to eat the healthy stew when 2 women got babies! I have 60 people now without the love shack! LOL! One woman won't go in the love shack without 2 men! LOL CAN'T GET ALL 50 TO EAT STEW FAST ENOUGH FOR FEAST!
I'm in trouble!!
I have ONE female left! (child died of starvation and the other died in a work accident)
Every time she got pregnant she had a boy.
Now she's 52. Will she still get pregnant? She's more than willing to go to the Luv Shack, but she just won't get pregnant!
Am I going to have to start over?
I have 14 villagers, 13 of which are female. My only male is age 48. I have been trying to have babies for the last day or so, with some success, and all of the babies that have grown up are also female. I have just tried again - I have 2 nursing mothers now. It seems like the women will not have babies after age 50. Hopefully it's not true with men, as I need to keep trying until I have another male! Please let me know if you have any tips or tricks as they would be greatly appreciated! Thx.
I've got up to 95 villagers, now every time i try to mate a couple they say "not enough housing to support more population"
I have completed all the puzzles and have bought all tech. I haven't completed all the collections yet, does that effect it? Or is there a trophy i have to get or something?
I'm trying to get all the trophies and one is to get a population of 100 so i'm a bit stuck!
Help?
Help!!! I am trying to resolve puzzle 11 the grand feast but i cannot get any of my villagers bring a fish in the pot, though i have put all the other ingredients needed in the pot, while it is still boiling! When i put them retrieve a fish they put it to the food bin! i have tried every one of them and they all put it to the food bin and not in the boiling pot! HELP

What is the error message you get when you try to drop the villager on the rock?
Collector -
The only advice I can give is to really look when the fog comes in. When the fog comes in the wind flutes blow and more collectibles show up.
Gilly -
There are only three types of herbs on the island, sweet, spicy, and soapy. What are you doing that you get that error message?
JIGuest -
Twins and triplets are random, they just happen.
Tara -
The island events appear to happen a lot less in this game, that's just the way it goes.

There are two ways to train a healer: (1) Put someone's preferences on healing and drop them on a sick villager to heal them, or (2) get level 3 healing then build the hospital. Once the hospital is built you can drop villagers on the hospital to train them as healers.

Did you try emptying out the pot and starting completely over? Drop someone on the drain behind the pot and they will empty it.
Kristin -
The keystone is at the top right of the screen, at the base of the cliffs. You should see it where the waterfall used to terminate, on the beach at the base of the cliffs.
PMSCMaster -
Behind the pot is something that looks like a giant drain. Drop an adult on that drain and they will empty the pot, allowing you to start over.
Dedra -
Once the blockage is cleared, you will notice that the stream is going around the tree and falling down a hole on the other side. Look carefully at the bottom of the cliffs, where the waterfall used to be. There is a large flat stone there that you can use to plug the hole. However, you need a villager who is both an adept scientist and adept builder to move it.

No, having an adult teach in the school doesn't improve their skills, but it improves the skills of the children. Having an adult tell the children stories, on the other hand, improves their parenting skills.
Jen -
Some players have noticed that some of their women can get pregnant over the age of 50, but it seems to be random. Keep trying, but if she can't get pregnant, you may have to start over.
Susan -
There's no age limit for men when it comes to having babies. Men in their 70's can still produce offspring, so just keep trying.
Rhiannon -
The only way you will be able to have a higher maximum population is to complete some of the collections. A maximum population of 95 implies that you have completed at least one. For each collection you complete you can add another 5 to the maximum population.

When you start the grand feast stew, wait until the herbs are in, and until the first adult has brought food from the food bin. Once that has happened, drop several people on the piers, hopefully one of them will bring a fish.
Holly -
If they teach in the nursery, no. If you drop them directly on a kid and initiate story time (all the kids will flock to hear the story) then it will improve their parenting.
Is there a special way to get the last few collectables? I have 10/12 scales, 11/12 mausoleum pieces, 11/12 flutes, and 11/12 research lab equipment, I've had this for the past few days and never seem to get anything new anymore! Any tips or tricks that can help me? I might add that they are all rare pieces. Just assumed that after about 4 days of looking I would get atleast one!
JIGuest -
To teach at the nursery, you need an adult who is at least adept (if not master) in three different categories. When you have an adult that qualifies, drop them on the nursery and they will teach.
Corey -
Your best strategy is to watch when the fog rolls in. When the fog rolls in the wind pipes blow, and more collectibles show up.
Penny -
Doing the laundry is a random activity, and all you can do to stop it is grab someone who is doing laundry and throw them onto another task.
Polo1235 -
You need level 2 science. When you purchase level 2 science the foundation for the clothing hut will appear. Once that happens, just drop builders on it and they will build it.
I know a great way to rack up tech points! Put your game on slow and when the humming bird comes let him finish pollinating the flower then pause the game. When paused drop every kid on the flower thern unpause on slow. They bring the flower to the lab. From my experience you get about 250 - 500 tech points per flower. So if you have like 4 kids that is If you keep reapeating on slow you get around 1000 - 2000 tech points. I went from 18000 to 36000 just from doing it with 8 kids but I did it over and over about 8 times.
Three questions I have yet to see answers for.
1) Villagers keep seeing blackened rocks behind firewood. What is this about?
2) All story telling is about the fish statue and a sea adventure. Villagers (all new since all collectibles have been found) still wander there, why?
3) Villagers still go to mausoleum to look at the carvings, why?
If it is just software cycling, I can understand; but, it just hints at something to be discovered with no clues about it. Is this just wishful thinking? My village is over 200 years old and had less than half of the events, some of which are repeats. Could the answer be in there?
I have an issue with Puzzle 11. I have three tribes currently in progress. The first tribe I started, I completed Puzzle 11 with no issues. I have tried completing it in the other two tribes, and I can not get all of my villagers seated together at the same time. I think the problem may be the fact that I started both of the later tribes with runners. By the time I had done enough to initiate the grand feast, some of the offspring (who weren't runners) were past age 14. By the time these slower villagers get the stew, everybody else is done eating. I have tried making the slower villagers grab the stew first, but it seems to have no effect. They are always the last to sit down, and several of the other villagers have already finished eating and return to the pot for more stew.
Does anybody have any suggestions or is this a glitch?
Hi Angi
There is a the spoiler above on the feast - this makes it really clear. The secret is to start the cooking as soon as it starts raining, as this gives you a better chance of a mushroom being around. But in a nutshell:
Wait until it starts raining
Drop someone on the freshwater pots (preferably a youngster who will move quicker)
Drop someone on the rocks for the fire
When the water is in the pot go back to the fire - when the rock is hot drop the same person on it to take it to the pot
Meanwhile use three children to gather one of each herb (white below the lab, yellow above the lab, red right of the mausoleum)
When the water is boiling and the herbs are there drop a scientist on the herb table
When the scientist has processed all three herbs and the stew is boiling you need to start adding the remaining ingredients: drop someone on the fruit tress, drop someone on the fishing pier, drop a child on a mushroom, drop someone on the blackberry bush, drop someone on the food store
Once all the ingredients have been added have someone taste the stew
I am trying to do the grand feast and I have everything in the pot before it stops boiling, but it's still saying that the stew is unfinished. I have dumped the pot out and restarted it many times. I have even tried putting everything in the pot in order and it's still not working. What am I doing wrong?
Ok, this is strange and it goes against what I thought happened with aging and any VV. I have an elderly female, since she was moving so slow and adept at everything I checked her for parenting. I thought that at her age of 60 years she would tell stories etc. Next thing I knew she was nursing a baby. Now at 66 she is *still* having babies!
How did this occur? Was it just a glitch, she was an adept parent at 60, but I have another female that is also an adept parent (my original villagers) 2 years younger and even with her parent skill checked and all her "embracing" she doesn't have more children.
To help all of those struggling with the big feast:
After dropping adults on the tree, fish, hut, and berries, and then a child on a mushroom, I watched each person deliver the food to the pot. However, it still said that the stew was unfinished. I went back and placed an adult back on the food bin. That adult brought some food back to the pot, finally triggering the feast. I had been attempting to make this work for a week and was getting really frustrated. So, hopefully this helps others.
After solving the last puzzle (hummingbirds) you can collect thousands of tech-points.
You can make lots of techpoints if you are watching the hummingbirds. Then start picking the flower with a kid, pause the game, pick the next kid ec. The kids will bring the flowers into the lab and they collect - I think 300 tech-points a kid. I got 7000 techpoints with one flower and seven kids. You have to create a "chain" of picking kids, always with "stop and go". Its fun!
I've been trying to make the grand feast and i get the water boiling, put the spices in and drop people on all the other foods but they keep putting the fish, blackberries, fruit and mushrooms in the food bin instead of the cooking pot even though its ready. The only thing they put in the cooking pot is stuff from the food bin
can anyone help??
King, there is a small shelf or cliff just above the research lab area where there is a plant with many yellow flowers. That is the sweet herb.
Willow, you need someone who is at least an Adept Parent to teach in the nursery. Make sure you've selected the parenting skill before you place them in the nursery.
