Uhm..So I made the clothing hut and have 3 bolts made. I dropped an adult who's an adept in building and a master in science. All it says is something about not having enough tech points. I have about 3,000 at the moment. How much do I need? Or rather, what do I need to do to change their clothes?
Sorry to be a bother. I'm just really stuck. Help would definitely be appreciated. ^.^"
JIGuest -
Teaching in the nursery does not get you extra tech points, but it does train up the children, especially if you have a scholar teaching. Keep folks teaching in the nursery and when the kids hit 14 they are already at the first level of a skill.
Karma -
You need to have 5,000 tech points to change someone's clothing. However, if you are early in the game, you shouldn't waste the tech points on changing clothes.

Did you notice the square pit in front of the fruit trees? You have to solve that puzzle to cook fruit from the trees. I'd try dropping builders on it, to start.
Hey. Thanks for answering my question before. But now I have a new one. So I was doing the platter quest. And the water's hot. It's fresh. And I have EVERYTHING. I put in all the herbs, I got a mushroom, I put in food from the bin TWICE, I got a fish, and I got the fruit from the tree. Also, the berries. It keeps saying that the stew is unfinished. Why?
There truly is a bit of glitchy weirdness. I haven't been able to get babies so I'm repeatedly putting couples together. I put together a person who likes running and a person who doesn't like running. He outran her to the shack and left before she got there. so then I put them both on the porch where they embraced and said they were going inside, but neither ever left the porch, they both stood there a bit 'waiting for someone' then they left.
after the trio glitch I'm amused. I wonder what they are waiting for. lol

I'm playing as I type and HOLY COW I just got a BARREL OF BABIES!
a whole bunch of kids just came down the waterfall in a barrel?!?! I haven't seen comments about that but it's a life saver, and my adult women don't have to stop working!
Karma -
Sometimes one of your little people gets distracted on the way to the pot. I've always found it safer to double up, get two people collecting berries, getting fruit, getting fish, etc.
Journe -
Are they gathering food or researching? Also, you need builders working to keep the stream clear, as that blockage keeps piling up. You can work on finishing the collections, or trying to make all the different stews, or earn the trophies as well.
Kamden -
You need to solve the fire pit puzzle. The fire pit is in front of the fruit trees down at the bottom of the screen. Solve this puzzle and you have an alternative food source when the berries run out. I think you need level 2 construction to solve it.
Samantha -
Unless you get a random event that brings a female to the island you will eventually have to start over.
JIGuest -
The barrel of babies is a random event that you see in all the Virtual Villagers games. It is rare, but it happens.
SH -
For me level 2 construction is the way to go. It allows you to solve the fire pit puzzle for more food, and also allows you to start repairing the fishing piers. Then level 2 science, which gives you the clothing hut base. Once the clothing hut is built you can learn to make cloth and finish repairing the piers for fish.
JLLS -
Is your stew boiling and the herbs added before you send someone to the berry bush? It only works if the stew is already in progress.
JIGuest -
First, you need to have a fire burning. Then, drop an adult on the pile of rocks just to the left of the bridge that leads to the lab (when an adult hovers over these rocks they see "blackened" rocks). They should take a rock to the fire. Wait until the rock turns red, then drop an adult on the rock. However, you must have water in the pot before you try to bring the red hot rock to the lab.
Sam -
Is the stream running all the way down by the plant?
Message to Karma, you need at least 5000 tech points to change clothes. But i wouldnt bother changing clothes till u have alot of tech points as changing clothes isnt needed for any puzzel.. jus the clothes hut to be created and the cloth made. Once u can accumulated tech points fast, then go wild n change ya tribes clothes for a bit of fun.
JIGuest -
To get the stones hot, you need to have a fire going. Drop an adult on the pile of stones that is just to the left of the bridge that goes to the lab. The adult will take a stone to the fire. Wait until the stone turns red, then drop an adult on it and they will take it to the lab, but only if there is water in the pot.
Sam -
I think it was 6 or 8 hours until the plant recovered for me, I wasn't timing it, but it took a long while.
edd -
After the hummingbird leaves, pick up a child and hover him/her over the flower until they "see" the flower, then drop them. It can take a couple of tries until you hit the right spot.
Bogdan -
Complete instructions for fixing the hole in the tree are in the walkthrough above for puzzle 15. Once you get the message about the need for a purified body, then you need to put the soap in the pool and drop your adult in their to wash them.
Afton -
The stew needs to be in progress before you can add the food, that means the water needs to be boiling and the herbs need to have been added.
Vikki -
Some of those mausoleum pieces are small and very hard to spot. There's no way to predict when one will come out, but your best bet is to look when fog rolls in. When the fog rolls in collectibles show up in greater numbers.
Michael -
The fourth puzzle is making soap. Use salt water and the soapy herb to accomplish this. As for alternative food sources, you need to solve the fire pit puzzle. The fire pit is located just above the fruit trees at the bottom of the screen. Once you solve this puzzle you can have your farmers gather fruit from the trees.
Kamden -
You need to solve puzzle 14 (honoring the tree) and puzzle 15 (the hole in the tree). Puzzle 14 requires 20 villagers, and puzzle 15 requires level 3 dendrology.
J9 -
Have any of your villagers died yet? You won't get ghosts until someone is actually buried in the mausoleum. After that, they come out randomly.
Kamden -
They need to have three skills, at least at adept level, to teach in the nursery.
Stephanie -
It sounds like an ingredient got lost on the way to the pot. The safest way to be sure is to start the stew, set the adults on collecting the various food items, then use another set of adults to gather the items again. If it is still unfinished, try dropping someone on the food bin at the end.
I'm just wondering, when are the hummingbirds coming in?
If I drop a child on a flower now, the child states that the flower is not in full bloom yet. I guess the hummingbirds have something to do with that.
Are the hummingbirds only coming when you have dendrology 3? Which, by the way, I still don't have...
Waya -
You don't need dendrology level 3 for the hummingbirds to arrive, but the tree needs to have at least 4 levels of health. Look in the technology screen and you can see how many levels of health the tree has. Restoring the stream, rescuing the frogs, restoring the butterflies, and cutting off the diseased limb should get it to that point.

You can't build any more huts after the 3 in the game. However, if you want more population, complete the collections. Each completed collection allows you to have 5 more in the maximum population.
Hello, thank you for your great tutorial! It has helped me a lot! I've had a problem. I had 5 sick villagers out of about 15 once and I was like wow I should get the hospital, so I did, and built it, but now if someone is sick they just lie there, and I cant get ANYONE to heal them!! I have 20 odd adults in there, but no one is healing the poor kid whos been sick for ages! They just study medicine but leave the kid alone! It was easier when they went to the beach and they would just heal them! Or is it just me who doesnt get the hospital thing? Please help! I searched this whole page and no one else had a problem so I guess I'm missing something really obvious! (i've tried dropping the people directly on the person, still they just study around him and kind of tuck in sheets)
Thankyou!
Hi, me again! I forgot something, I was also wondering, can you get women over 60 to mate? I know its weird but I was running out of females, and I tried a bazillion times, and I know my population wasn't maximized. My last 3 lot of kids were all guys, I only have 2 females between 18 and 60 at the moment and about 10 guys, so to have enough kids to make a big group I need the seniors to start popping out babies :( Am I out of luck? I think so, but just wanna check. Ta (: x
Rebekah -
It sounds like you are using salt water in the stew. Salt water is for non-food items only, like soap and cloth. Only use fresh water (the bowls at the top of the cliff) to make stews.
Lucky -
Yes, the debris will continue to pile up. Just remember to put a builder over on the stream once in a while to keep it from building up so much it re-dams the stream.
mobetta4u -
Is there water in the pot? They won't take the rock to the pot unless there is water in there first.
Laura -
If the sick person is sitting in the hospital, take them out and drop them somewhere on neutral ground. Then take one of your healers and drop them on the sick villager. If the villager is sitting in the hospital and you drop a healer on them there, they think you are dropping them there to study.
thankyou, grinnyp! It worked, when they didn't think you were trying to make them mate :P I should have thought of that! Oh and for anyone else with my over 60 fertility problem-you just tick their Parent skill and they will do it on free will, not always with the best hair colour match or whatever but it still works! I now have like 6 pregnant people! :) all good thankyouu
I'm up to 105 people and even my elderly 75 year old woman has a newborn - I thought it was amazing that she had a baby when she was in her 60s, but when I came back to the game now and expected her to be dead, she had a baby in her arms! But...still no last two fish scales and I'm bored. Has anyone gotten all the fish scales?
Dear Grinnyp, thank you for answering my hummingbirds question. I did restore the stream, did the frog and butterflies thing and also got rid of the diseased limb. But I don't have stage 4 in health. Could it be because I didn't do the honoring the tree part yet? That's because I don't have 20 people at this point. Could that be it?
I also have another question. I'm also having problems collecting the fish scales. It says in the walkthrough that they only show up when it's tide? But in what way can I see that there is a tide? I now just keep looking randomly but noticing in time that it's tide again would really help I think.
Thank you for all your help.
Kind regards,
Waya
hi, i've played and completed all of these games, but now have come to a problem. The mausoleum pieces do not seem to be showing anymore. I have collected 7 so far, but when i started building more huts they seemed to have stop showing. Is this a glitch because of where i built the huts or is there something else? thanx.
Laura -
The hut foundations will show up when you buy a higher level of construction. Level 2 will get you the second hut, level 3 will get you the third.
Nuala -
I've completed the fish scales collection once. It is, to me, the hardest one to complete.
Waya -
Yes, sorry, you also need to honor the tree, and that requires 20 villagers. That should make the tree healthy enough that the hummingbirds will start to show up.
Check the tidal pool every now and again and you will see that there are two different levels to the water. At high tide, you can see the larger rocks and a few things, at low tide the water level is much lower and you can see a lot more rocks and creatures in the water. Search for the fish scales when the tide is low. I think the cycle is 2 hours.
Shell80 -
You may have built the huts where the pieces show up, but it may just be that all you have left are the small pieces. The small pieces are really small and hard to spot, and the more huts and villagers you have on the ground the harder they are to see.
Laura, I just had a 79 yr old have a baby, then died about a minute after she finished nursing.
For some reason, I'm not able to read all of the comments posted, so this might not be a big surprise, but I've discovered that spoiler:
After you've healed the tree, the hummingbird still comes, and the flowers that he pollinates are worth 250 tech points. And, you can use it over and over again until you get the message that the flower is not ready. I have gotten ten trips out of one flower!
Hey Guys,
Been having issues with Puzzle 2 I can't find the rock to plug the hole I've looked and looked and all I get is Maybe this culd cover something but when I put a villager on it, it says The rocks aren't hot yet? Please if someone could maybe show me a screen shot of where it is please.
Thanks :)
Kneeknee -
You can also get a trophy for making, I think, 50 bolts of cloth. As for getting a larger population, you need to work on the collectibles. Each collection you complete allows you an extra 5 maximum population. Complete all 4 collections and it adds an additional 5.
Little_Princess -
Usted tiene que completar las colecciones. Para cada colección que completa, usted podrá tener 5 personas más.
Az -
It sounds like you are looking in the wrong place. The rock you need to plug the hole is at the base of the cliffs, where the waterfall used to fall before you cleared the debris. Here's a screenshot.
Shira Goldstein -
Yes and no. Some folks have women who can have babies all the way into their 70s. In my game, there were a few who could do that while the rest stopped at about age 50.
shawna -
You can set someone to parenting and let them loose. It won't create any more babies because you are at maximum population, but as they keep trying they will gain experience. Also, drop an adult set to parenting on a child, he/she will tell all the children a story and this will also increase his/her parenting skill.

You need to heat a rock in the fire, then take the hot rock to the lab. First, drop an adult on the pile of stones that is just to the left of the bridge that goes to the lab. The adult will take a stone to the fire. While the stone is heating, have someone take water to the kettle, either using the fresh water bowls (top of the cliff) or the salt water bowls (bottom of the cliff). When the water is in the pot and the rock in the fire has turned red, drop an adult on the fire and they will take the red hot stone to the lab to boil the water.
Hello, have two questions if someone could help?
First- The lei is started but the child will not pluck the flower (it is still in bloom) after the hummingbird has visited. Ideas?
Second- Trying to purify the tree. Took an adult and bathed in soapy pond. Took him then to meditate uninterrupted. Took him to tree, said not pure of body. Took him back to soapy pond, then to tree again, saying the same thing. HELP!?
Thanks!
seanrixx -
It's part of solving puzzle 15.
Paganscorp8 -
Behind the pot is something that looks like a large drain. Drop an adult on the drain and they will empty the pot.
May0673 -
Yes, it can take a while for them to stop meditating.
Melanie -
Wait a couple of seconds after the hummingbird leaves before you start trying to drop the children.
As for the bath/meditation, the timing is tricky, and sometimes one wears off before the other is done.
I know some of the VV players would like to see what the complete collections look like.
Well I somehow (sheer-luck!) managed to get all the collections complete so I'd like to share this with you all.
Here's a link to a picture of all the collections: http://www4.picturepush.com/photo/a/3357472/640/3357472.bmp
My son has me hooked on playing the game. I have managed to solve the puzzles, alot by luck and chance! My son however is having trouble with teaching at the nursery. What are the requirements for an adult to teach? Please help as he is getting very frustrated and i have tried to help and figure it out, but no luck!
does teaching in the nursery earn you tech points?
