How am I supposed to get the "Crowd Control" trophy by having a population of 100 villagers if at a population of 90 villagers it said "Congratulations! You have reached the maximum population that your village can sustain," or something like that? Please help, I have only a few trophies left to go and I want to get them all! Thanks!
If you want to speed up the beginning of your game and do NOT want to mess with your computer clock, try this:
At the villager selection screen, only accept those villagers who have "Running" in their likes list. You need at least 1 female adult and at least 1 male adult. You should probably also get 1 child, as you won't be able to collect without one. You do NOT need a pregnant female, as 2 running villagers can complete the Love Hut in about 10 minutes.
It took me about 15 minutes to come up with 4 adult females under age 25, 1 adult male under age 25, and 1 child under age 7. I had to pass up 2 or 3 villagers who were too old for my preference, 40+.

The first thing to remember is to cook fast, the stone won't stay heated forever and the stew can go cold. It also sounds like you are forgetting to add food from the food bin at the end. All edible stews are fresh boiling water + plant + plant + plant + food from the food bin. Once the food is added, all you will see is black smoke, indicating that the stew is done. Then have your villager taste it.

Hummingbirds are not dependent on the tech levels, but on the health of the tree. In the tech section you will notice that the tree has six "bars" of varying health. Solving certain puzzles adds to that health. You need 4 health bars before the hummingbirds show up. Have you: solved the frogs puzzle, solved the butterfly puzzle, removed the damaged tree limb, and honored the tree?

Have a villager put a rock on the fire. The second it turns red, drop an adult on the rock pile to start taking the second rock to the fire, then drop an adult on the red hot rock to move it. Keep an eye on the second rock, then once again get another rock headed to the fire before moving the red hot rock. Once all four rocks are in the pit immediately drop someone on the banana tree for the leaves. The timing is tricky, but it can be done. Mostly remember to get the next rock headed to the fire before you pick up the red hot one.
Kimmy -
First, get water in the pot by dropping an adult on one of the stacks of bowls over by the cliff. The bowls at the top of the cliff are for fresh water, the ones at the bottom for salt water. Then drop an adult on the pile of stones at the base of the bridge that leads to the science lab. The adult will take the stone to the fire. Watch the stone, it will eventually turn red. When it does, drop an adult on the red stone and they will take it to the lab and drop it in the pot, creating boiling water.
After you complete puzzle 16, I found a way you can get more tech points :)
Just drop an adult or child on the flower after the humming bird lands on it. (same way the leis are created in puzzle 16)They will carry the flower to the lab for tech points. Not sure how much exactly but I'm guessing It's 150 a flower.

That's the correct recipe. Put the water in the pot, add the hot rock to make it boil, then have a villager add the pulpy vines. Once the vines go in, the pot should start putting out black smoke, indicating that it is done. Drop an adult on the pot and they will take it out to the rock for further processing.
I am at the last puzzle and I have been waiting two days now for hummingbirds. My tree is at 5 out of 6 so it is well pass the 3 out of 6. I've seen them when I couldn't use them, of course, but now that I need it I can't get them. Is there a special place they go like up by the grave site or down by the blackberry bush? Help please-Thank you
Jessica -
Once the berry bush is picked clean, it will slowly regenerate a few berries at a time, but it won't be enough to sustain the village. You need to find an alternative food source, such as the fruit trees or the fishing nets.
Cathie -
It sounds like you are missing the mushroom. Also, if the stew is cold, you're going to need another hot rock to heat it up again.
JIGuest -
The hummingbirds should still be appearing. They will appear literally in the middle of the screen wherever you are on the island, hover for a moment, and then zip off to a flower. You just have to keep an eye out for them.
For some reason the skill bars are not going up. Three of my villager's skills are at a stand still. Have only mast. 2 skills and are adpt. at the others. Is there something I'm missing. My food bin is overflowing and have been doing this for an hour and can't get one to be a master farmer. PLZ HELP
to view the map quickly, you can press M like the other virtual villagers games.you know, just saying.it'll make map-viewing quite quick. And also it's fun to chase the clouds on the map for fun.I also found a site with a free virtual villagers 4 download, but then I would be link dropping. So no link.:| Unless you tell me that you're sure that I can.But i think i can't.

If you go to the top of the article on this page, check out section 2, the strategy guide. It has a section on getting started.

Here is a screenshot of the keystone (chevron shaped rock). Hope this helps.
New question! ... So my 74 year old is now carrying a baby... is this a glitch? I left her on parenting because that's all she needed to become a scholar and when I came back to check she was holding a baby... None of my other master parents or scholars at that age can have a baby so I was curious if this was a glitch..
I have completed the puzzle two by unblocking the stream, but debris keep building up again until it's again blocked. Is there any way to stop them from it? It seems now that to put the frogs in the stream I have to do that whole thing over again and have enough luck to have the rain falling in the right moment :C.
Last question, I swears it... I beat all the puzzles so now I'm just just getting trophies... BUT, I need one more mausoleum piece and I haven't seen any at all in forever... They don't show up at all... I saw someone had asked a similar question but I didn't see an answer on here... is that a glitch? I can't get all the trophies without that last piece... Thanks again for helping me... that woman who had the baby at 76 turned to bones as soon as she put her baby down
Am I destined to fail? I have a boy - aged 7 and a girl - aged 7. I've had them for 3 days. (Health of kids is still very good. Food supply is over 300 cos of the doubling up on mushrooms). All the adults died. Still don't know why... I visit my people every day for 20 minutes a session (at least) ... at least 2 times a day, if not 3 times. I've not messed with my PC clock, cos in previous versions, I ended up killing my people faster. So this time, I resolved myself to not doing that. My kids have gotten enough TECH POINTS (TP) to buy more experience in food, health and science, I think.. And they've already gotten 3K more TP (due to doubling up on items)... So am I destined to fail?
fubblez -
it just takes time... Leave them there and keep the kids away or it wont be peaceful enough...
Chrystelle -
I'm in the same situation... my village is mainly women (which I don't mind)... I have 1 or 2 boys every 10 girls... I don't know... it might be a glitch but I can't say for sure...
sorbits -
its says stew is unfinished because you're using fresh water, you need salt water...
Diana -
you have to put workers on it or it wont get finished... after you poor it on the stone, put workers on it.. you have to keep putting them on it because they will walk away...
Maybe this is common knowledge, but I was wondering if any one else has done this: I waited until my population was maxed out (and they are no longer worried about food) and then set like 10 adult villagers to prefer parenting. No babies can be born but they continue to run around embracing and their parenting skill appears to be going up. This way they can continuously gain parenting skill without the bother of actually nursing.
Has anyone else does this with success?
The game will not allow me to drop a villager on another to embrace but they can do it themselves. It's pretty hilarious to watch actually.
Please HELP! I've been trying on and on to solve the grand feast puzzle. I've put fresh water, hot rock, soapy, spicy, sweet flowers, blackberries, tree fruit, fish, mushroom, and food from the bin. I've also tried it without putting food from the bin. But it always says "an unfinished stew is cooking". I made sure the water was still boiling when I put everything in. Please HELP! What do I do? :(
Tip for Parenting Skill:
You don't need to actually make babies in order to increase a villager's parenting skill. When creating scholars, I leave this skill for last. Then, I just keep dropping my villager on one of the opposite sex (like 300 times in a row!) until they become a master. Works even better when both villagers are too old to have babies.
Yes, I'm a VV4 Nut!
Ok. Trying to complete Puzzle 15. I've tried using old peope, young people, 15 yr olds, barely 18 yrs old people, I've used the very old people who can barely walk any more. I keep getting, no matter who I choose "Only those pure of body can purify the tree" ... I have done the **** in the water. I have tried everything to get a sparkling person.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have too many people? I have 90. I am not allowing ANYONE up by the tree while I am trying to complete Puzzle 15.
Am very annoyed *sigh*
Trying not to write any "spoiler" stuff in here.
To get the Grand Feat this is what I did:
I got the hot rock going. Got the fresh water from up top. I got all the herbs picked. Once the rock was hot, I got someone on it.
Once the rock was boiling water, I got the stew started. Once the stew was finished, and it was time to add everything else, I PAUSED THE GAME!!! I put everyone where I needed them...
Once I got all that, I got someone putting ANOTHER rock on the fire.
Once all that was done, and all the food was being collected from everywhere..t he last thing to find was a mushroom.
I paused the game every 15 - 30 seconds and searched the entire game for the mushroom and if I didn't find one, I unpaused the game. I'd continue searching while game was unpaused for about 15 - 30 seconds again, then I would pause the game. I paused maybe 9 or 10 times before I finally found a mushroom.. and you better believe!! I slammed a kid down on it as quick as I could!!
While in the hunt for a mushroom mode, put the 2nd hot rock into the stew. It helps!! If you don't feel confident you will get a mushroom with the added time of the 2nd rock, get a 3rd rock started. I'm telling ya - It helped me!!
It was quite comical watching the grand feast where I have 90 people - the maximum.
This might help if you cannot seem to get people pregnant:
First, PAUSE THE GAME!
Then, grab 1 younger adult and throw him repeatedly on a 50+ yr old woman. I know real life = EWW! But VV life = experience!
Keep the game paused and keep throwing the young blood onto the old crone *smiles*. They will get it on over and over and the Young Blood will gain the experience.
Once he is a "high adept" parent, find all the young chicks (18 - 49) and still, while the game is paused, throw this young blood on all these chicks, one after another... You will start gaining experience and awards and everything!!
Doing this, I got my 25 population, and when I did it again, later, I got my 50 ?? I think it was, and I got my 10 boys, then my 10 girls, and then my max population of 90. It was WILD! I was having little noticed popping up every few seconds. LOL
Now my peopel just make babies whenever there is a free space (someone has to die for a free space to become available)...

I've completed all the puzzles but I'm having trouble with the "fashionista" trophy. There are 6 bolts of cloth available at the clothing hut and it doesnt show any has been added when i have the villagers make new cloth. How do you use up what is already made- none of it disappears when I have my villagers get a new outfit.
Jiseth -
If it is saying that you need cloth, you are dropping the villager on the wrong part of the tree. The villager covered with sap needs to be dropped on the roots at the lower left of the tree. If it is saying you need cloth, you may be dropping the villager on the diseased branch, which does need cloth to accomplish.
Shiv -
Until you get the hospital built, the only way to train a doctor is to switch someone to healing, then drop them on a sick person to cure them. Once the hospital is built, just switch them to healing and drop them on the hospital, they will learn.
fubblez -
Are you waiting for them to finish meditating before you pick them up? If you pick them up before they are finished, you won't get the sparkles. Wait until they stand up, and make sure that nothing distracts them, keep all people (especially children) away.
Aries -
If you only have males, then your village will eventually fail. You need to produce children to keep the game going.
Once you get the hot stones into the pit, you need to cover them with banana leaves. The banana tree is right next to the lower stream, just to the left of the bridge that goes to the science lab.
Chrystelle -
I think that's just a coincidence.
Sorbits -
If you are getting the "unfinished stew" message when making cloth, it means you used fresh water instead of salt. You need to use salt water for it to work.
Becca -
Although you are left with only children, as long as it is a boy and a girl you should be okay. Once they get to be adults you can make more villagers. Kids can usually earn enough from double collecting mushrooms to keep them alive until they get old enough to farm.
Guest -
If there are still only 2 berries, then maybe your farmers have been harvesting them. Make sure the farmers don't go near the bush and you should soon get enough berries for the feast.
I can;t complete the flowering puzzle, when I drop the child on the flower, it says it is in full bloom but they won't pick it, then it goes out of bloom. anyone help?
