I can;t complete the flowering puzzle, when I drop the child on the flower, it says it is in full bloom but they won't pick it, then it goes out of bloom. anyone help?
Have you gotten an adult to pick up a braid and put it out on the rock? Did you then drop an adult on it to repair it? The kids won't pick the flowers unless their is a repaired braid out there ready to go.
How am I supposed to get the "Crowd Control" trophy by having a population of 100 villagers if at a population of 90 villagers it said "Congratulations! You have reached the maximum population that your village can sustain," or something like that? Please help, I have only a few trophies left to go and I want to get them all! Thanks!
You need to really work at completing the collections. Each complete collection ups your max population by 5. For instance, I have three complete collections right now in my "trophy" game (the one I'm playing to win all the trophies), so my max population is 105.
i built the nursery, but when i drag an adult onto it, they refuse and they don't have enough skills.
An adult needs to be at least adept in 3 different skills to teach the kids. Of course, the higher the skills are, the smarter the kids will be.^^
You need a villager with at least 3 skills to teach, and they need to be at least adept in those skills. Which particular three don't matter. It works even better if they are masters.
My Villagers don't want to eat their stews - whenever a stew is cooking they always refuse to do something with it - it's either unfinished or already cold.
What do I have to do to make them eat the stews?
The cloth and soap stews work perfectly by the way...
I have gotten all the tech levels and can't seem to go any further. No hummingbirds. What am I missing?
If you want to speed up the beginning of your game and do NOT want to mess with your computer clock, try this:
At the villager selection screen, only accept those villagers who have "Running" in their likes list. You need at least 1 female adult and at least 1 male adult. You should probably also get 1 child, as you won't be able to collect without one. You do NOT need a pregnant female, as 2 running villagers can complete the Love Hut in about 10 minutes.
It took me about 15 minutes to come up with 4 adult females under age 25, 1 adult male under age 25, and 1 child under age 7. I had to pass up 2 or 3 villagers who were too old for my preference, 40+.
The first thing to remember is to cook fast, the stone won't stay heated forever and the stew can go cold. It also sounds like you are forgetting to add food from the food bin at the end. All edible stews are fresh boiling water + plant + plant + plant + food from the food bin. Once the food is added, all you will see is black smoke, indicating that the stew is done. Then have your villager taste it.
Hummingbirds are not dependent on the tech levels, but on the health of the tree. In the tech section you will notice that the tree has six "bars" of varying health. Solving certain puzzles adds to that health. You need 4 health bars before the hummingbirds show up. Have you: solved the frogs puzzle, solved the butterfly puzzle, removed the damaged tree limb, and honored the tree?
I am trying to complete puzzle 7 (fire pit). I keep trying to get four hot stones on the pit, but no matter how close together I get the villagers in the hot rock production line, the rocks disappear before I can get 4 of them. HELP!!
Have a villager put a rock on the fire. The second it turns red, drop an adult on the rock pile to start taking the second rock to the fire, then drop an adult on the red hot rock to move it. Keep an eye on the second rock, then once again get another rock headed to the fire before moving the red hot rock. Once all four rocks are in the pit immediately drop someone on the banana tree for the leaves. The timing is tricky, but it can be done. Mostly remember to get the next rock headed to the fire before you pick up the red hot one.
If I were to guess, honor the tree is my next puzzle. I haven't figured it out yet. Just stuck right now.
Look in the tech section and see how many bars of health your tree has. I think you need at least 4 bars of health for the hummingbirds to show up.
hey how do i get boiled water in the pot
i'm haveing trouble making cloth no one wants to cut the puply vine i have 3 huts but none of them say there a clothing hut please help
First, get water in the pot by dropping an adult on one of the stacks of bowls over by the cliff. The bowls at the top of the cliff are for fresh water, the ones at the bottom for salt water. Then drop an adult on the pile of stones at the base of the bridge that leads to the science lab. The adult will take the stone to the fire. Watch the stone, it will eventually turn red. When it does, drop an adult on the red stone and they will take it to the lab and drop it in the pot, creating boiling water.
You get the foundation for the clothing hut when you buy level 2 science. The foundation looks different than the regular huts, and when it is built it will have clothing hanging from the eaves. When the clothing hut is built then you can cut the pulpy vines.
After you complete puzzle 16, I found a way you can get more tech points :)
Just drop an adult or child on the flower after the humming bird lands on it. (same way the leis are created in puzzle 16)They will carry the flower to the lab for tech points. Not sure how much exactly but I'm guessing It's 150 a flower.
Is there any way to trigger island events? I've been playing FOREVER now and only got to island events and they were both at the very begining of the game... any ideas?
How long does the cloth have to cook before it's done?? Am I missing something? It's been cooking for ages! Maybe I'm missing an ingredient? It's salt water + pulpy vines + hot rock to boil the water, yes?
That's the correct recipe. Put the water in the pot, add the hot rock to make it boil, then have a villager add the pulpy vines. Once the vines go in, the pot should start putting out black smoke, indicating that it is done. Drop an adult on the pot and they will take it out to the rock for further processing.
Island events are random, there's no way to force them.
I have a cold stew in the pot. It tells me it is not complete. I have added everything I can think of - fresh water, three herbs, food from the bin, berries and fish and tree fruit. I have dropped a villager on it and always I am told the stew is not complete.
Sounds like the grand feast. You need to have a child add a mushroom.
Okay... new question... How long does it take for berries to grow back? I let my villagers go on their own for a while and they picked them clean...
I am at the last puzzle and I have been waiting two days now for hummingbirds. My tree is at 5 out of 6 so it is well pass the 3 out of 6. I've seen them when I couldn't use them, of course, but now that I need it I can't get them. Is there a special place they go like up by the grave site or down by the blackberry bush? Help please-Thank you
If you already tried the mushroom with everything else, get an adult bring him to the food bin and have him put a second batch in the stew, but only after you did all the directions and it still says uncomplete stew. That's what I had to do.
Once the berry bush is picked clean, it will slowly regenerate a few berries at a time, but it won't be enough to sustain the village. You need to find an alternative food source, such as the fruit trees or the fishing nets.
It sounds like you are missing the mushroom. Also, if the stew is cold, you're going to need another hot rock to heat it up again.
The hummingbirds should still be appearing. They will appear literally in the middle of the screen wherever you are on the island, hover for a moment, and then zip off to a flower. You just have to keep an eye out for them.
Why are the villagers only white? shouldnt there be black, Indian, Asian, Hispanic, etc. villagers??? Just curious
Please help! how to get the villagers to burp?
You need to make the burping stew recipe: fresh boiling water + soapy + soapy + spicy + food from the bin. Once the stew is made, start dropping your villagers on the pot to eat it and they will burp.
When i drop a villager on the rock to plug up the stream it says confused. this needs calculations. I have the debri cleared, i have master and adept builders . I cannot get them to plug up the hole or lift the rock ??? any ideas ?
You need someone who is both an adept builder and an adept scientist. Someone who is both strong and can do the calculations. You might need to cross-train a villager.
For some reason the skill bars are not going up. Three of my villager's skills are at a stand still. Have only mast. 2 skills and are adpt. at the others. Is there something I'm missing. My food bin is overflowing and have been doing this for an hour and can't get one to be a master farmer. PLZ HELP
That last climb between adept and master can take a long time. It may seem as if the bars are not moving but they are, albeit in very tiny increments. Depending on the villager it can take between 4 and 10 years for them to become a master, it just takes time.
Guys, seriously, stop asking how to complete puzzles unless you have read it 3 times and you are really stuck. It's getting annoying how people are asking how to do puzzles when its RIGHT ABOVE YOU.
Still have problems getting ANY of my villagers to become a master farmer. is this a glitch or am I missing something still (It's been 6 hours at least and the bar has not moved)
What speed setting is your game on, slow, medium, or fast? Also, how much time in years has it taken (i.e., how many years has the villager aged while trying to become a master farmer)?
how can i cathc crabs?
to view the map quickly, you can press M like the other virtual villagers games.you know, just saying.it'll make map-viewing quite quick. And also it's fun to chase the clouds on the map for fun.I also found a site with a free virtual villagers 4 download, but then I would be link dropping. So no link.:| Unless you tell me that you're sure that I can.But i think i can't.
How do you make twins and triplets???
Twins and triplets are a random event. Most pregnancies involve a single child, but occasionally you will get twins or triplets. There's nothing you can do to force it, just keep your villagers breeding (providing, of course, that there are adequate supplies of food and shelter).
HELP! i do not know how to play this but i also need a lot of help in the first one
I must be doing something wrong. Can someone show me the chevron shaped rock? A picture would help
If you go to the top of the article on this page, check out section 2, the strategy guide. It has a section on getting started.
Here is a screenshot of the keystone (chevron shaped rock). Hope this helps.
I made the stew "honor the tree" and they did but after that nothing happened! is smething suppost too? And how do you get more huts?
sory if im anoyeing im only 9 and needs help please!
You need at least 20 people honoring the tree, then you solve one of the 16 puzzles. Try it again when you have more villagers.
You get more huts when you buy construction technology. Level 2 will get you a hut, as will level 3.
i just started playing this game, and my villagers ran out of food. i dont know how to get any more food considering my blackberries are all gone. i know this is probably a stupid question, but where can i get food!? thanks in advance
If you have level 2 construction, you can clear out the fire pit near the fruit trees at the bottom of the island. If you can get the fire pit activated, you can harvest the trees for fruit. See puzzle 7 in the walkthrough for more details on how to activate the fire pit.
New question! ... So my 74 year old is now carrying a baby... is this a glitch? I left her on parenting because that's all she needed to become a scholar and when I came back to check she was holding a baby... None of my other master parents or scholars at that age can have a baby so I was curious if this was a glitch..
ahh... i can't get the Puzzle 14 (worship)>.
You will find that a few of your villagers have this glitch, it will allow them to have children up into their 70s. It doesn't happen with all of the women villagers, just a few.
It won't work until you have at least 20 villagers worshipping the tree at the same time.
I have completed all the puzzles, and am now going thru trying to get all the trophies.
Re the pool party trophy, I have put over 25 ppl in the pond by pausing, chucking them all in, then unpausing. But this doesn't get me the trophy. Am I missing something?
I have completed the puzzle two by unblocking the stream, but debris keep building up again until it's again blocked. Is there any way to stop them from it? It seems now that to put the frogs in the stream I have to do that whole thing over again and have enough luck to have the rain falling in the right moment :C.
The stream will continue to pile up debris, you just need to set a builder or two on it and it will quickly be cleared. All you need to do is get the debris down below 75 percent and the stream will flow normally again. Then you can wait for rain and rescue the frogs.
Last question, I swears it... I beat all the puzzles so now I'm just just getting trophies... BUT, I need one more mausoleum piece and I haven't seen any at all in forever... They don't show up at all... I saw someone had asked a similar question but I didn't see an answer on here... is that a glitch? I can't get all the trophies without that last piece... Thanks again for helping me... that woman who had the baby at 76 turned to bones as soon as she put her baby down
The mausoleum piece will eventually show up. The rare ones can be very small and extremely hard to spot, especially if you have a lot of villagers and buildings on the ground.
Have you managed to create 100 scholars for that trophy?
It's not like I haven't been looking... None show up. Not even any common ones... That's why I was wondering if it was a glitch... I have 56 scholars and I'm working on 14 others to become one... It's rather easy, I thought it was going to be hard at first...
i couldnt get the gold sparkling? can anyone help me? i already get the adult meditate and rainbow appeared above his head, but no gold sparkling???
Hey hope you find my tip usefull; if you place your hut's or what ever by your wood pile the people won't have to travle far so the hut's will get built quicker!:D (sorry for any spelling mistakes!)
Ok, I need a little help. First I had two womans, then both of them dies. What to do now? I have only males.
And What to do with hot stones on the hole? To covering them with what?
I'm having horrible luck with babies lately. I have 3 simultaneous tribes running at the moment. In each tribe, I'm having either all girl babies or all boy babies. It's been 5 or 4 in a row now. Is anyone else having this problem? :[ Is it something I'm doing? Or just extraordinary coincidence?
I have already made cloth 3 times or so, but haven't been able to make the fishing nets yet. Now when I try making them cloth, water + purple vines + hot rocks it says the stew is unfinished. Is it because the villager I have set to do the job is too low in research?? :S
Am I destined to fail? I have a boy - aged 7 and a girl - aged 7. I've had them for 3 days. (Health of kids is still very good. Food supply is over 300 cos of the doubling up on mushrooms). All the adults died. Still don't know why... I visit my people every day for 20 minutes a session (at least) ... at least 2 times a day, if not 3 times. I've not messed with my PC clock, cos in previous versions, I ended up killing my people faster. So this time, I resolved myself to not doing that. My kids have gotten enough TECH POINTS (TP) to buy more experience in food, health and science, I think.. And they've already gotten 3K more TP (due to doubling up on items)... So am I destined to fail?
I've been trying to do cloth for 2 days now, but doesn't work... I mean the recipe works fine, but I keep spreading the liquid for hours and was still 0% done. Every time I leave the game, all my work disappears and I have to start again. How long do I have to cook, before I get the cloth? Thx..
it just takes time... Leave them there and keep the kids away or it wont be peaceful enough...
I'm in the same situation... my village is mainly women (which I don't mind)... I have 1 or 2 boys every 10 girls... I don't know... it might be a glitch but I can't say for sure...
its says stew is unfinished because you're using fresh water, you need salt water...
you have to put workers on it or it wont get finished... after you poor it on the stone, put workers on it.. you have to keep putting them on it because they will walk away...
About the butterflys..I tried it but it says I need cloth to spread the sap..message: "you need cloth for this"
I don't see anything here about nets...does anyone know anything about nets?
How can you train a doctor?
Re Pool Party Trophy:
Make sure none of the villagers you are putting in the pool are holding babies. Then it should work.
Alright, so far things are going great. I have debris cleared, all of my people are cross trained, but for some reason, I CAN'T GET THEM TO HAVE KIDS.
I have two males and two females aging between 22-40. How to I make me some behbeh's?
I'm having a problem with my last house I have about 10 people on it and it has been at 20% finished for about an hour
I have waited and waited, and I still only have 2 berries left on the tree which isnt enough to harvest. And I need them for the grand feast. Anyone have any ideas? It's been hours now that I have waited and it hasnt changed from 2
Um im trying to do the feast but i can only add in the food i cant add in the fish and blueberrys and fruit also the mushroom help
Maybe this is common knowledge, but I was wondering if any one else has done this: I waited until my population was maxed out (and they are no longer worried about food) and then set like 10 adult villagers to prefer parenting. No babies can be born but they continue to run around embracing and their parenting skill appears to be going up. This way they can continuously gain parenting skill without the bother of actually nursing.
Has anyone else does this with success?
The game will not allow me to drop a villager on another to embrace but they can do it themselves. It's pretty hilarious to watch actually.
It won't let you make kids? I'm assuming you've built the Love Hut, right? You can't have kids without the love hut. Unlike the other VV games, you actually have to build the hut that lets them have kids.
Please HELP! I've been trying on and on to solve the grand feast puzzle. I've put fresh water, hot rock, soapy, spicy, sweet flowers, blackberries, tree fruit, fish, mushroom, and food from the bin. I've also tried it without putting food from the bin. But it always says "an unfinished stew is cooking". I made sure the water was still boiling when I put everything in. Please HELP! What do I do? :(
Tip for Parenting Skill:
You don't need to actually make babies in order to increase a villager's parenting skill. When creating scholars, I leave this skill for last. Then, I just keep dropping my villager on one of the opposite sex (like 300 times in a row!) until they become a master. Works even better when both villagers are too old to have babies.
Yes, I'm a VV4 Nut!
Um just keep trying to put the things in maybe a villager dropped something while walking it could happen if not then just keep trying to make the stew (by the way fresh water is in the upper bowl) I had the same problem, i just used salty water instead.
Ok. Trying to complete Puzzle 15. I've tried using old peope, young people, 15 yr olds, barely 18 yrs old people, I've used the very old people who can barely walk any more. I keep getting, no matter who I choose "Only those pure of body can purify the tree" ... I have done the **** in the water. I have tried everything to get a sparkling person.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have too many people? I have 90. I am not allowing ANYONE up by the tree while I am trying to complete Puzzle 15.
Am very annoyed *sigh*
Trying not to write any "spoiler" stuff in here.
To get the Grand Feat this is what I did:
I got the hot rock going. Got the fresh water from up top. I got all the herbs picked. Once the rock was hot, I got someone on it.
Once the rock was boiling water, I got the stew started. Once the stew was finished, and it was time to add everything else, I PAUSED THE GAME!!! I put everyone where I needed them...
Once I got all that, I got someone putting ANOTHER rock on the fire.
Once all that was done, and all the food was being collected from everywhere..t he last thing to find was a mushroom.
I paused the game every 15 - 30 seconds and searched the entire game for the mushroom and if I didn't find one, I unpaused the game. I'd continue searching while game was unpaused for about 15 - 30 seconds again, then I would pause the game. I paused maybe 9 or 10 times before I finally found a mushroom.. and you better believe!! I slammed a kid down on it as quick as I could!!
While in the hunt for a mushroom mode, put the 2nd hot rock into the stew. It helps!! If you don't feel confident you will get a mushroom with the added time of the 2nd rock, get a 3rd rock started. I'm telling ya - It helped me!!
It was quite comical watching the grand feast where I have 90 people - the maximum.
This might help if you cannot seem to get people pregnant:
First, PAUSE THE GAME!
Then, grab 1 younger adult and throw him repeatedly on a 50+ yr old woman. I know real life = EWW! But VV life = experience!
Keep the game paused and keep throwing the young blood onto the old crone *smiles*. They will get it on over and over and the Young Blood will gain the experience.
Once he is a "high adept" parent, find all the young chicks (18 - 49) and still, while the game is paused, throw this young blood on all these chicks, one after another... You will start gaining experience and awards and everything!!
Doing this, I got my 25 population, and when I did it again, later, I got my 50 ?? I think it was, and I got my 10 boys, then my 10 girls, and then my max population of 90. It was WILD! I was having little noticed popping up every few seconds. LOL
Now my peopel just make babies whenever there is a free space (someone has to die for a free space to become available)...
I got the water boiling, and so on, but my pot won't make soap. I gathered the three soapy-flowers and put them in the put, but it just says that it needs something nutrisious.
Help! When I try to make the Grand Fest, my adults bring the blackberries to the food bin and not to the pot!
How do you have twins or triplets? Thank You
Where exactly is the tidal pool, I've just about completed every other collection, but have yet to get one fish scale.
okay, i have tried a million times to get my people to have children.. help
what can i do to get them to have children? potions?
how do I complete level 2 cant get it to cook.
how do we get unlimited tech points? that would be really helpful now
I've completed all the puzzles but I'm having trouble with the "fashionista" trophy. There are 6 bolts of cloth available at the clothing hut and it doesnt show any has been added when i have the villagers make new cloth. How do you use up what is already made- none of it disappears when I have my villagers get a new outfit.
Can anyone tell me, when the ghosts start to appear? Does a villager have to die first or is it enough to get all the pieces of the mausoleum?
NOTE: After completing the Mossy rocks puzzle, you can catch crabs for food! They're worth a base value of approximately 35-36, close to what you get when harvesting berries with a sharpened tool. Who doesn't love crab legs?
If it is saying that you need cloth, you are dropping the villager on the wrong part of the tree. The villager covered with sap needs to be dropped on the roots at the lower left of the tree. If it is saying you need cloth, you may be dropping the villager on the diseased branch, which does need cloth to accomplish.
Until you get the hospital built, the only way to train a doctor is to switch someone to healing, then drop them on a sick person to cure them. Once the hospital is built, just switch them to healing and drop them on the hospital, they will learn.
Are you waiting for them to finish meditating before you pick them up? If you pick them up before they are finished, you won't get the sparkles. Wait until they stand up, and make sure that nothing distracts them, keep all people (especially children) away.
If you only have males, then your village will eventually fail. You need to produce children to keep the game going.
Once you get the hot stones into the pit, you need to cover them with banana leaves. The banana tree is right next to the lower stream, just to the left of the bridge that goes to the science lab.
I think that's just a coincidence.
If you are getting the "unfinished stew" message when making cloth, it means you used fresh water instead of salt. You need to use salt water for it to work.
Although you are left with only children, as long as it is a boy and a girl you should be okay. Once they get to be adults you can make more villagers. Kids can usually earn enough from double collecting mushrooms to keep them alive until they get old enough to farm.
If there are still only 2 berries, then maybe your farmers have been harvesting them. Make sure the farmers don't go near the bush and you should soon get enough berries for the feast.
