Argh! I re-tested my level and found a shorcut straight away! I intended for all the pieces in the inventory to be used but it was possible to omit three of them. Here's a slightly modified version, hopefully with no shortcuts this time.

@JIGuest:
Your latest level is faulty. It doesn't throw up an error but there is no target tile in the game!
Level 14 solution(doesn't always work, depends how much steam gets to the wrong collector, 3 and you're fine, 4+ and you'll need to try again!):
Seems level 15 was updated, here's the solution which utilizes every piece:
Sturm, your level has very many shortcuts. You should probably do something about that. Some short cuts are (only listing major ones)
1) you can use the lightbulb and the sensor at the beginning 2) you can use the laser mirrors and laser detector at the beginning 3) you can use the water and hydro pump thingy at the beginning as well.
I'll try to help get rid of the shortcuts, but I am not so good at this stort of thing.
i was looking it over more thoroughly and now i think it needs a major overhaul. the primary concept is very very good but it lacks challenge, although it is much better than my first (and only) level which is a rube goldberg machine found on page one of the comments. sturm keep try
(i also suggest checking out brown dyed hotel)
mscaa's "Starter Engine 2" level has me foxed. I'm sure there is a solution and I don't think I'm a million miles from getting it but it's the only one I've failed to complete so far and I've spent ages on it... I'll keep trying though. :-)
@Tom:
You're right, roch's level is very good. Did you find shortcuts in my "movers & shakers 2" level? I've looked at it again and I can't find any.
@Tom:
Thanks, I've very much enjoyed playing your more difficult levels, along with Mystify's and mscaa's--although I think I'm about ready to admit defeat on Starter Engine 2--I've spent a silly amount of time on it already and I just can't figure out how to shut down the upper left circuit to energize the charger light.
This is what I have so far...
So, if you're reading this mscaa, please put me out of my misery and post the solution. :-D
@JIGuest
Your level has a shortcut:
You can use the laser+detector to energize the middle wire, then use a lightbulb and panel to get to the top right, where a kettle and fridge will turn the waterwheel.
@Antagony
Hint:
It's mostly right except for the bottom right corner. Is that mirror+wire above the power source really useless?
The solution (all items in place, toggle items as needed):
{"1.#0($2G%3.&0('0$(0G)2&+2A,0)-0"/0#00$20D50$61C80D90#:0";0D?2DA2GC0"D0"E0CG0DI0|K1DL0"M0#Q0@S22V22W1)Y2AZ0@[0?]22`22a2Cc2Gd0?e29g22j22k2(m0)o0)q10r0"s0"t1+u0|x19y0%~+-3#!!3%47/~}
I'm back with yet another level. If you thought "Starter Engine 2" was complex, just try this one. When solved, 58 of 81 squares are filled with items. I just wish that I had more inventory space.

@mscaa:
That looks awesome! I've only glanced at it so far and I probably won't have time to try it tonight, but I'll definitely be having a go at it tomorrow. If I don't post here again it probably means my head has exploded! :-D
Sadly, most of the other user levels posted on this page have major shortcuts in them.
please exuse me, but I just realized that I copied my last code down wrong. I was the one who sent it on feb. 1 at 11:37 AM. Sorry for the inconveinence. Tell me what you think.

I agree Roch's level is excellent. I was banging my head against the keyboard for quite awhile. (I am preventing Alzheimer's by spending all this time on this game, right?) It wasn't until I remembered that
you could use the bot to move a component that's starts the level on the board
that it all came together. Very clever. Thanks
Came across this game yesterday and have played every puzzle I've found. Some very good ones posted. I spent about 5 minutes on this one so it should be pretty easy. Let me know what you think.

@DEVON
Here's my solution to yours.

You need to change it so that you can't do it that easily.
My latest..... I actually spent a bit of time on this one trying to get the kinks out. Kept finding tons of shortcuts. Hope it's not too easy. As far as I know, you have to use every piece.

P.S. i know the infinite energy source is getting old but this one has lasers
Well I've tried mscaa's "Mountain Trail 2" several times and I'm still no nearer to solving it! It must be the hardest level so far.
@repairmanman:
I liked your perpetual motion levels but I thought it would be nice to have one with some real movement, so I came up with this:
Just turn the kettle and the right hand magnet

Here's a level that makes use of the fact that you can build an infinite energy system.
PULSAR

You get to complete a simple loop at the bottom of the level that sends out pulses of electricity indefinitely. (The length and frequency of the pulse is determined by the length of the path between charger light and panel.)
I too am unable to solve Mountain Trail 2... :(
[Edit: Code is corrected per your other comment. -Pam]
Yeah, I always have trouble with MT2, too. Seriously, I can never remember what needs to be turned.
Anyway, I would give you some hints, but I don't really know what kind of hints would be helpful. Just keep at it, and remember; everything has a purpose.
In case you decide to give up (and to prove the level is solvable), here's the solution:
List of items that need to be turned:
Top Row - Fan
Second Row - Laser, Refridgerator
Third Row - Bot
Fourth Row - None
Fifth Row - Laser
Sixth Row - Laser
Seventh Row - Rightmost Mirror
Eighth Row - Laser Detector
Bottom Row - Charge Light, Rightmost Magnet

@mscaa:
I decided to take a look at your solution as I'd already spent an age trying to solve it and I wasn't even getting close. And no wonder, I never would have guessed that...
... two magnets on the same power line would behave the way they do. I would have thought they'd just cancel each other out.
Kudos for an amazing level though. It's even hard to follow when the correct solution is under way! :-)
On level 14, I have the things set exactly as you guys say to have them-and as the picture shows-to solve, but the ball does not knock the fans off. It goes through the steam collector as it is dragged by the magnet and doesn't knock the fans off. If it did, the thing would be solved but it won't knock them off.
@tom
My sincerest apologies, but that wasn't my intention at all. I specifically made it that way as a joke, Hence the name infringement.
I was literally saying that I copied the level, and if you read the spoiler after the level code you would know that I was joking
(if you haven't it says, "Get it," and has a winking symbol
-like so (;-
)
But for all who misinterpreted my meaning, I was not trying to gain fame or anything like that, I just wanted to make a joke, which actually wasn't very funny at all.
So once again I am truly sorry and will never plagiaries again.

Hints:
Have you tried PULSAR? The mechanism is similar.
Step 1: Use the charger light to build an infinite energy loop at the bottom of the level.
Step 2: Start the laser.
Step 3: Use ball droppers to clear the way for the laser beam later on. One ball dropper is needed to destroy the middle light (which you need to place).
Step 4: Power the fridge and the bot. The bot will move the final mirror into position.
