I am really suck on the level where you have to go with the old guy to and do the stuff with the barrels and dynomite (sorry not sure of the name) anyway is the a way to go about it i have restarted like 5 times becuase bandits keep shooting up the town before i can earn enough money to hire someone from the saloon.
Does anyone know how to get past this problem!?
am totally stuck with the saving of lumberjacks and stopping the lumber mills not working?? Have read above how to save the lumberjacks only , North is a female right? only can't seem to see where to build the bridge? Also, do I put the 2 people to work on the lumber mills? AND, is there a way of getting out of quests to go back to my town? So with the lumberjacks I need more info who and where? :-(
Help.. I am at Earthquake quest .. have done everything .. but can't keep happiness over 103.. I have even added an extra building.. Church and graveyard..but nothing. I added flowers.. but everytime the earthquake hits they disappear. Right now all I am doing is keeping everything repaired and buying trees to be able to keep repairing building..lol. I am working two mines and still a just able to keep up. Any help out there...
Thanks
Chezza.
The Lumberjack one takes a lot of practice, and a little trial and error to figure out where you can put your bridges and where. The most important bit, though, it dynamite. There's one place you can get to by building a bridge that has two charges of dynamite, and that can be used to get to one more place with dynamite. The third charge of dynamite is not absolutely necessary due to the fact that there is a back way or a long way to get around one of the blocks, but the two water blocks have to be destroyed.
My advice on this is to collect what resources you can before you trigger the actual quest, there won't be enough, but there could be enough to let you get a jump start on building bridges. (The first person you talk to gives you the resources to buy one bridge, and the second gives you a good chunk of resources, but the more you start off with, the further you can go).
Initially, you should take all the lumberjacks that you save and put them to work getting you gold and wood, and perhaps have one or two scurry about picking up random supplies like food and the pick up wood and gold.
But once you get a few under your belt, you can use the ones that aren't busy to also build bridges and go searching for other lumberjacks, that will save you some time.
As for the rest of the management, don't worry too much. You just need to keep resources coming in, if you run out of food and or water, it won't matter too terribly much because you shouldn't be in this quest long enough to have people quit on you or become drunks. Just make sure you have a fresh lumber camp running, and that you have someone mining gold at all times. If your panning mine goes under, find some minable rocks, and get to it.
If you are low on experience points, you can build them in small increments by completing the small quests provided by the Trading Post and the Sheriff's Office. Each completion gives you gold, food, wood, and/or points, depending on the level. Completing other side quests, or building/upgrading your town can give you experience points too. Increasing happiness gives you some as well. Keep trying! Even little things can help.
Nope still can't save all the lumberjacks or the lumber mines and I used 2 dynomites up at the top of the screen to save 2womenjacks, so couldn't blow up bolders in water, saying that couldn't see how to get into water anyway?? So what I need is who 1st etc!! pls and what to do about the lumbermills?? it's driving me crazy now...
re-tried again and again .... with lumberjacks quest, but nope, even thou reversed things, either don't have enough dynomite or one bridge short. it takes 2 bridges to get the womanjack top of screen, if you do her 1st then you have to use 2 dynomite sticks to get the 2ns womanjack left of her! if you leave her till last, am a bridge short! HELP, pls I need a more info on where to go and who 1st,2nd etc..
I am having problems "repairing the outpost". I don't have an option to build a new one. Next to the bridge on my third page of build options is the hat shop, not an outpost. Is the man's broken down cabin the outpost, or is the platform the outpost? Either way, I can't seem to do anything to either.
Also, where is the silver to make a silver ring for Cletus?
Thanks for your help!!

I have two questions, 1) I have white rabbits in town, but the first one to appear was hiding behind one of my farms, so I destroyed it, built a new one, and now I can't get the rabbit in a box. In fact, the rabbits are now controllable by clicking on them, and are counting when I tab through my lawmen/gunslingers! Am I bugged, and need to go back to a prior save?
2) I failed the smuggling task (I took too long trying to get up lots of extra resources, and he walked off right as I was going to give him the supplies.) Do I need to go back to a saved game there too, or do I not need to finish that one?
Thank you for any help.
you need a Tannery (with someone employed) before killing bears (you need a blacksmith before tannery). Take some gunslingers with you.
I need help on saving family. I get all distractions done, but when I try to sneak up on horseman with ma/pa, they get killed. Cant seem to move them behind wagon. thanks... love this game!
I have no gold. 2 of my mines are controlled by someone else and the one I did control is out of gold. I am suppose to save the 2 lumberjacks by building a bridge to them but I can't get the mill. So, I guess my question is how do you get more gold when there is no gold around. Also, how do you stop people from being drunks? and lastly, how do you overtake the gold mines so we can pan for gold? Thanks.
Katzchen, he'll keep coming back at least a half dozen times--I lost count, but eventually he does get what he wants and goes away. Just keep giving him what he asks for when you have it.
I'm having fun reading about all the other quests people have gotten to that I'm nowhere near yet. Looks like I have my work cut out for me this weekend!
Hey guys.
I am stuck. I am about to go on the find the mechanic quest for about the fourth time, and I keep having trouble because my gunslingers keep being killed (I have 5 including my hero lady). I can't get enough gold in the main town to hire another one, because all my panning mines were taken, and the one in the west is out of gold, and all the rocks and stuff filled with gold are gone. I don't have enough experience to buy the thing to build a goldmine, and every time I go on the quest anyway, the bandits kill all my gunslingers, and then destroy the town. Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers.
Kristen
To rebuild the outpost, left click on the remains of the outpost, it will show the picture of the outpost with a button showing a built outpost (bottom right of your screen). Click that button. You will have to have some gold and wood to repair it. After you rebuild it, you can then also upgrade the outpost to a railroad for faster delivery of resources, AFTER you do the resource quests that is.
@Kayleigh
Thanks for the tip on the eggs, my last one was completely obscured by a tree I blew it up and there it was! YEY!
So I'm missing the Pirate Hat & the Indian Headress.
The only task I have left is the Earthquake one, then that will allow me to get the votes for Mayor...
I'm trying to play through the whole one this time in one go rather than coming back and doing it all again for unfinished quests.
Thanks for all your help once again.
Rescue 5 lumberjacks
First build a bridge to reach the island with two dynamite sticks.
Then build a bridge to the north and save the first lumberjack
Head to west. Blow up the boulder and save the second lumberjack
From there build a bridge to the island with one dynamite stick, you have now two sticks left
Go back to south. Build a bridge to save the female lumberjack
Go in the river and blow up the boulder next to the gold mine and you can save the fourth lumberjack in the south
Continue in the river. Another boulder, use your last stick and blow it off. You can now reach the fifth lumberjack
Greetings, Kayleigh
@Kayleigh
I just finished the game and I'm still down the Pirate hat... what was the second treasure quest? As far as I know I completed everything but if there's one hat missing I have to have missed it, I guess I can't go back now? Man I do not want to start over. I got the one down the well, were they both in this town? One darn hat!
@ Amanda
Your population wont go past 40 it's the max for the game.
Grapes
I had this issue too you need to plant more and more flower pots till the lady comes to sell the seeds, I had to plant 6, it's purely random
Ostrichs
You need to collect all the Easter Eggs, and you must have 3 chicken ranches to trigger the easter egg hunt
@Sting
Silver Ring
You need to mine some silver, have a blacksmith and the rest does itself, it will tell you when you have mined enough silver for the ring
@Liss
The secret trophy
You have to toss 10 coins in the fountains. For this you will you get the "Generosity Trophy
The Treasure
For me it sounds, like you have the second, but not the first treasure.
The first treasure you find in the first town
A rabbit pulls the treasure chest out of the hole and you need 3 keys to open.
To get all three keys
1. Dynamite the rocks to get them to fall on the switch in the enclosure behind the bandits. The switch will open the gate. Walk into the gate and walk up to the scarecrow. Get key #1
2. Blow up rocks in river in front of pool with fish swimming around the crate. Then build a bridge to the pool. Catch all of the fish swimming around crate. When they are all caught, open crate for key #2.
3. Go back to the area on the left side of the river. Go to a white tree on a hill toward the bottom and near the far left side of this area. Blow up tree and crate falls to ground. Open crate and get key #3.
When you have all keys go to the chest and open it.

Rescue The Baron Family
Try picking up the dynamite in the canyon just above and to the north of where you and your posse appear, you'll need one stick to blow up the wagon and lure some of the bandits away, and the other to get into a corral further round for supplies - not the one with the horses in it, there's one past the bandits camp with medical supplies, guns and wood in it. To open the horse corral, shoot the water tower above it and the doors open sending the horses off and the bandits come to check on them. You need to keep out of sight of the main bandits at all times or you get busted
Greetings, Kayleigh
@Andrea
For the first treasure please have a look at the post for Liss three posts above yours
For the treasure with the well please have a look at the first page of the comments. There is also a spoiler called treasure
@mummy09
Im not really sure, if I got it right, but if you mean the headless horse man:
You have to fill 3 cemetery with headstones. Buy gunslingers and let them fight the bears till they die. Once 3 are full he will come out.
Greetings, Kayleigh

Is there any way to succesfully complete the Save the Farm Quest?
Answers (hopefully) to some other questions:
Not enough points: Sometimes when you build something for the first time, you get points. So try building things that you are able to, but haven't built yet.
Bridges: you can't build bridges until you do the Lumberjack Rescue quest. Once completed, bridges will automatically be unlocked.
Problems building bridges: sometimes when I start a bridge, my hero starts and then suddently it says my hero can't get to the bridge. Back them up and then click on the bridge again.
Redd's supplies:
Redd's supplies are to the south of the river. You can only get there by building a bridge. You can only build bridges once you've completed the Rescue the Lumberjacks Quest. If you've just got his note, keep playing. There are several quests that must be done (and the story has to progress) before you can do the lumberjack quest even. If you've done all that and build your bridge. Near the southeast corner is a gold mine (well, a vein in a wall, you can build a gold mine on it). Redd's supplies are on the platform above this mine. There is an arch just south of the mine... go through there then up to the north onto the platform. There is a rock cluter (the middle one is kind of unusual looking), and as you approach your character will recognize it as Redd's stash.
Lumberjack Rescue Quest:
There seems to be a few ways to go about this. This is mine...
1. Employ the lady that asks for help at the Lumber Mill. Employ the man that offers to help right at the start at the logging camp. Collect the resources that are lying around the immediate area.
2. There is an island with a man on the south side of it and supplies (dynamite, gold) on the north side. Build the first bridge to the north side of this island. Collect the dynamite and other resources.
3. Go into the water by the gold panning. Blow up the first set of rocks with one bunch of dynamite. You are now able to rescue the southmost man. You can just walk up onto his island (the "ramp" is on the north side I believe). As soon as you rescue him, I employ him at the gold panning.
4. Go back into the water, continue north(ish), blow up the second pile of rocks with your remaining dynamite . You can now rescue the man that was on the south side of the island you built your first bridge too (just walk right up onto his island... "ramp" is on the west side). I will usually make him harvest a fallen log or a vein of gold.
5. Back in the water, head north west. There is a ramp that leads out of the water. Go north until you reach water again. Build a bridge to the North side of the water. You can rescue one of the female lumberjacks now and collect the resources around her.
6. There is an island that has resources (more dynamite, gold, lumber). Build a bridge to that island and cross it (south). Collect the resources there.
7. Go back (north) over the bridge. Head East. You will come to a ramp that is blocked at the top by a boulder and two logs. Blow them up with dynamite. Go up the ramp and continue east until you find the 4th lumberjack.
8. By this time, I usually have enough for the last bridge, and since I'm so far away, I just have one of the other lumberjacks build the last bridge to the female lumberjack who is on an island right near the lumbermill.
*** The key for me is to have everyone else gather my resources (except at the very start) while I'm busy rescuing. If the logging camp or the gold panning sinks into the ground, I have the people there chop up fallen logs or pick gold from a vein. And remember, anyone can build a bridge, not just the hero
Rescue the Barons:
1. Blow up the wagon surrounded by dynamite (there's some dynamite west of the wagon).
2. Open the gates to the horses by shooting down the water tower.
3. Head to the camp northeast of the bandits. It will prompt you to collect firewood. When you collect enough, the game will continue (the fire will start).
Grace,
Researching Gold Mine:
This will be available to research once you've built 3 river gold panning operations and MacAllister has taken over 2 of the 3 of them. One of your townspeople should say something like: "We need more than a river panning... we could build a mine".
Finding Willy:
You must rescue the Lumberjacks first. Once you have, the two lumberjacks who asked for your help to begin with will ask you to build THEM a bridge to get off their island. You build this bridge to the west (it's the only option I think). Go straight west and Willy is on the West edge of the map.
I am having difficulties in the Mines Maze. Obtaining the dynamite is not a problem and blowing up the mine entrances are all completed. Found Dow Jones gravestone while exploring.
My questions is this: What is the correct sequence for completing the Mines Maze (2nd Town) in order to advance and rebuild. Any help or "spoiler" would be helpful.
Patrick.
The exact sequence is a little tough to describe, but...
The correct starting point, from the trapper who offers you dynamite for pelts is the entrance with snow blocking directly to the north of where the trapper is hanging out.
From there you are going to want it's trial and error, but you will come to one point where, when you go through the mine entrance, it'll drop you directly into an area with another mine entrance in the wall not far from where you entered, and a little to the northeast there will be a little depression with a mine entrance in the middle of it (sans wall).
When you get to that part, instead of entering either of the two new mine entrances, you want to go back into the one you came from. It will not take you to where you came from, but instead will drop you to another area requiring another mine entrance that needs to be cleared. Going through that mine entrance will take you to the way out.
I hope that helps, and apologize for it being so vague.
I am stuck on the Mechanic quest. I have repaired the town but now I am supposed to blast the blockage to distract the bandits away from the gate so I can get in the gate. I can't get any dynamite, why can't I buy it in the general store? It says "sold out" and there is no dynamite on the ground anywhere.
Thank you for your help!
How do you get ostriches?
