Here is a bit of cheat if you don't want to wait to build a tower. Its probably not intentional behavior, but it does work.
Completely demolishing a building gives you credit for it, same as completing it. This includes any benefits (such as the stardust/moodust shower). You can select to build the tower and place it somewhere. Then immediately select to demolish it. Note - if you've already started a tower, just start another one to use this technique.
Check the walkthrough at the top of this page for solutions to the Mysterious Objects. Solving the flower puzzle doesn't give you fountain water.
That's the correct potion. Use it on grass, but make sure there's nothing else nearby.
It sounds like a different technical problem. Let me see what I can find out for you. I'll send you an email if I can get an answer for it.
Women must wait 2 game years between children.
You can reach a population of 51 by having twins when your population is still at 49.
I have figured out how particular hairstyle potions work - I've made a very simple pattern with illustrations (note, that the hair colours here are random):
[Edit: Thanks, Haludek! I've added this to the FAQ at the top of the page. -Pam]
hi i am having trouble with the sapling from the glowing stump cannot work out how to water it can any help many thanks shoey
I've put an adult on it that had full stats in all the skills and had also 100/100 physical strenght.
It worked perfectly.
Maybe you should try doing it with an adult with full stats, instead of guessing which skill does the trick?
By the way, GREAT FORUM here!!
I've really read a lot of posts here, but there are so many that I can't find the topic I'm looking for :(
I'm looking for a way to get my tribe-members to get older.
Until now they still becom 72 at the most!
I thought getting their physical and mental strength 100/100 would help, but it does nothing about them dying between the ages of 65 and 72.
Can anyone help me with this?
You will have to mix the potion Magical Rain:
Fish, sea water and stardust.
You can't put it ON the stump, I've put it NEXT TO the stump and that worked.
I hope this will help you!
Hi everyone. I looked through the posts and didn't see this addressed, so I thought I'd share my experience.
I was looking for guano to make pretty flower swirl patterns on my island when I realized you can make the seagulls fly over the island by clicking on them in the water. They won't always pooh and sometimes they pooh on trees or buildings or in the water which you won't be able to harvest, but I worked up 15 guano in a very short time doing this. You just have to look for birds facing the right direction.
Can someone tell me what to do if I only have one person left on my island. My computer had a virus for 3 days until I got it fixed. In the time it took to get it fixed, all my tribe members died except one female. I have all buildings and my boat built, but will it give me new tribe members it I sail to a new island?
To Miss Iris:
Your people won't get older until you start giving them the youth potion after solving the fountain mystery.
I'd really appreciate anyones help with info on how to get more tribe members when I only have one tribe member left. I don't know if there is a potion for immaculate conception, but I'm hoping :D
What's the fastest way to get science points without wasting all my stars and moons on it? Also while not using all my people.
Unfortunately, there's no way to reproduce with just one person.
I also had this happen where I wound up with one person left. That last person died in their forties, and the cause of death was loneliness. (Like I didn't feel guilty enough!) I think once you don't have at least one male and one female you are out of luck.
Here's a useful tip if this happens in the future where you're gone longer than expected - You can change the settings from the menu to pause. As long as this is done before you select play, that game will load as if no time passed.
I have just discovered an island that has a much higher rate of washing up lodestones than any other islands. The name is Lodestone Island. Number Code-2214902436
Trying to sail to another island and while I'm sailing the game crashes and when I reload I'm back to the original island.
Check question #8 in the FAQ at the top of this page for an answer to that problem.
Am I the only one here that has to track who has babies with who so that I don't inbreed them accidentally? Its become a bit obnoxious.
My question is about trees - how do you get rid of trees if you've gone a little nuts planting them and now your woodpile is full? is there a potion that'll get rid of them?
There's really no need to track bloodlines. The game doesn't acknowledge it at all.
You just need to build some things. Your people will start chopping down the trees you select for harvest. Once you can build the larger things, the trees go pretty quickly.
Just wondering, how does time pass on this game?
I used the moondust on buildings that were being constructed and it either build it up more or completely and sometimes the stardust will work too.
For some reason I can't make babies anymore. I'll drop a man on a woman or vice versa and it will ask me if I want them to mate. I click yes but then they just stand there. I'm not clicking anything after I've clicked yes. I'm not interupting the "mating" process at all. My population is currently 16. Most of my population is over 200. I need to make some babies.
Actually, I've started seeing the same thing happen. I don't know what's causing it, but just keep trying. They will eventually go to the hut to make a baby.
I have two questions:
1) How long do you have to wait between giving potions to the same tribe member?
2) Has anyone else noticed spontaneous births taking place? I thought you had to direct your people to reproduce, but I will leave the game and come back and there will be a new baby toddling around? I haven't had them reproduce in a long time, they've been living off of the restore youth potion. Has this happened to anyone else?
Is there any way to inhabit more than one island? I just sailed from my first island to my second island and all of my tribe members went. Can I leave some tribe members on one island and take others to another island? Thanks!
is there a way to get moondusts and stardusts faster
My people don't move and some of them are behind buildings or trees and I can't "grab" them. Please Help.
Regarding item 2: Yes, my tribe has had some spontaneous births.
I maxed out my tribe at 50 sometime ago, and my tribe members would not mate anymore. I've kept those 50 youthful (my eldest is almost 300). At some point, a new baby appeared. About 50 island years later, a second appeared. The 3rd appeared about 54 years after that. My population is up to 53. I'll be interested to see if there's an upper limit.
I've read through everything here, but can't find out how long (real time playing or by age) you have to wait between giving potions to the tribespeople.
I foolishly gave the wrong potion to my maxed out male when he was old enough to become young, and I don't want to shut the game off for fear he'll die and I'll have to re-max someone else. He's 69 and I'm ticked at myself - any advice?
I haven't been able to figure out how long they need between potions. I think it's more than a few minutes, but less than a couple of hours.
What message do you get when you click on one of them? They could be sleeping on their feet, bored, or the game might be stuck.
The building and instant demolishing of my towers doesn't provide lots of stardust. Anybody know why?
[Edit: Because it was an exploit that was fixed in the latest version. You are most likely running the fixed version. -Jay]
i have one girl left, any chances ? i have all but 1 trophy left 5 arcs help please
I was able to "unstick" my people. I remember there was some kind of message about my people moving slowly and I could conserve power by clicking. I clicked and then no one walked anymore. Went in and out - clicking different settings - think it was the "special effects" button - not sure but they are moving now
I found this out for construction. If you mix rain, moon and loderstone, you can put it on a building in progress and it will increase the building progress. Also, for getting the rain, I just make it rain (fish, sea water, star) and then I can go back and use the rain to make potions
Also, how do I get the fountain? and if I travel to another island, can I come back to my first one or any of the ones I've played without losing anything? Thanks
I don't really understand what you're asking. Can you give me some more information?
To Joy B:
There is information about how to solve the fountain in the walkthrough sectionat the top of this page. Look under "Mysteries and Their Solutions".
Also, check Question #11 in the FAQ for information about moving to other islands.
I have a population of 50 and I'm using around 10 of them to build the tree tower but my tribe people won't do any work....they are always resting or walking, daydreaming and so on....
the other members of the tribe do what they are suppose to do, it's only the builders that barely do their work....why??
Before I forget....science points aren't usefull after maxing out sciences, right?
My Tribe members seem to only live until approximately 75 years old.. How do you make them live longer? I've tried giving them stardust to boost skills and stuff but they never seem to last. Please help.
Make sure you have plenty of trees and rocks selected for harvest. Also, be sure you have Construction selected on their details screen.
About making tribespeople live longer -
You need to give the elders a youth potion to get them to live beyond their 60s or 70s. Look in the walkthrough section at the top of this page under Mysteries and Their Solutions. The one you need is the Fountain in order to make the potion. I also just added this to the FAQ. Check Question #16.
That's all done....there's no reason for them not to be working. I'vr already build a LOT of houses so that they can sleep...but it doesn't seem to work :(
Thanks anyway ;)
The thing in the walkthrough about perfect couplings is wrong.
I've had 2 100/100 pairs have children, with said children only have physical and mental strength in the 90s instead of 100/100.
I was busy for a week or two (maybe 3) and I come back to find all my people dead. I hate to start over again... is there a cheat code or way to get even 2 people back to life (or new people) so I can keep going? I have my ships built and everything... I doubt I'll take the time to start over again, but I'd love to continue if there is a way to keep going!
There is nothing I'm aware of that will revive a dead tribe. If you're going to be away for longer than a day, it's best to put the game on pause.
Is there a spoiler tag anywhere with all of the trophies and what you have to do to earn them?
[Edit: That information is contained within the game. Click on Trophies on the main menu, then mouse over the trophy slots to see the name of the trophy and what is required for it. -Pam]
When you leave your island, do all of your villagers come, or do you pick one or a few to go? Can you return to your island?
About leaving the island -
All of your living tribespeople will go to the new island (tombstones are left behind). You can't choose any to go or stay. You can return to your island if you have the island number, but it's unclear whether your buildings will still be there. I went back to an old island and everything was in place, but others have tried and the island looked like nobody had ever been there.
I love the cheat sheet! I noticed under "bad", was (fish, fountain, and golden relic)the potion that creates severe storms that damages buildings. Being self-destructive, I decided to try it out anyways. If you dont mind some of your huts and storages being damaged, you can look along the beach, and find quite a bit of golden relics. When I tried it, I found 4!
I am trying to build an arc and am not able to find a location it will allow me to do so. any help please !!!
I've also used the 'bad' thunderstorm to damage some buildings to help develop construction skill. It's handy on a small island where you don't have a lot of room to build.
a tip for the golden relics - you don't have to use the damaging thunderstorm to get them. You can use the Fish/rainwater/moondust version. You don't have to wait for the storm to stop, once raining, each time you repeatedly apply the potion to the ground, you'll hear one thunderclap and another golden relic will appear on the beach.
I don't know how but I have about 53 tribe people. All I did was make them have babies and next thing I knew I had 53 people.
I am trying to build a shipyard but only one of my people will work on it at a time. With houses and storage I was able to have two or three working together. Is there a trick to get them to cooperate?
I tried going to island number 4000 and the game crashes. I tried it several times to make sure it was not just a random qlitch and it crashed every time. I then tried a different number and it went there.
To build the ark -
You need to place it half on land and half on water.
To Tina B:
Even though only one person seems to be working on the building, there may be others who are carrying wood and rock. Also, others will be chopping and gathering. I think the best thing to do is just make sure you have their skills selected on the details screen and let them do it.
Speed up time greatly in this game!!!
It's simple to speed up time in this game. But before you do I want to warn you that you have to set up your tribe before actually cheating this or they will all die.
Make sure no matter what you are cheating for...science points, food, logs, rock...whatever...you have your tribe established first. Make sure your have trees allocated for harvesting and people set to only deal with wood collecting and food collecting.
After establishing a self-sufficient tribe, the left over tribes members you have need to be set to do whatever it is you want to speed up....researching, harvesting trees, construction, whatever it is. So have like 3 members researching and 2 members harvesting wood and food.
Save and Exit the game.
The game uses the Windows clock to setup the going on's while you are away from the game. So simply set the windows clock in advance, and the game advances immensely.
But be wary, the clocks are not on the same schedule, I advanced my windows clock 3 days, and 3 of my 30 year old tribes members were dead when I reloaded it.
After reloading it, simply save and exit, then reset the windows clock back to original time, and you're done.
[Edit: We strongly advise AGAINST changing your computer clock for any game. Not only can it mess up your game, but it also effects other computer applications that rely on the computer clock. -Pam]
Just my experience here...I have two tribes running at the moment and I now have a total of five "miracle babies," those born 42 years apart of immaculate conception. I think as long as no one is dying on the island, a little miracle will pop up every so often. I don't know if this would work with only one person left because they would probably die of loneliness before enough deathless years have passed.
I am trying to get the trophy for making a tribesperson live for 900 some odd years. I was wondering if I leave the island with the fountain water would I still have it in my potions? He is only about 150 so I have a ways to go. Thanks.
[Edit: Yes, the benefits of the fountain will stay with you on new islands. You just need to have a science lab built before you can actually mix the potion. -Pam]
Am I the only one that can't figure out how to get golden relics? Could someone please tell me how to get them?
Golden relics are found on the beach at the beginning of a storm. You can check the list of potions in the walkthrough section at the top of this page to find a potion that will bring storms.
I have a question...
One of my tribe members died and i can't find the gravestone. I assume it is somewhere behind the houses but i can't look behind them, so is there an alternative to pick up the gravestone?
Can someone please answer...
Oh, and one more question. The golden relics should appear during the storm. But i can't find any, how come?
I did not see this one on the list of potions. Berries, Sea Water and Stardust. When they drink it, it says " the oily taste in there mouth is discusting".
I've put out a dozen storms so far and have yet to see a golden relic wash up on shore. Can someone link me what it looks like or tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I can no longer have 2 players on my game. Does anyone else have this problem? I use to have 2 options or 2 players but now just 1 and my son wants to play any thoughts??? help
Here is a screenshot of a golden relic.
You can set up a second profile from the main menu for another person to play. Be careful not to delete a profile, though. There is a bug in the game that will delete all profiles if you do that. Just add the second one.
Check the screenshot in the post above to see what a golden relic looks like. They are small like mushrooms.
On the gravestone, there are many times when you can't see it because of a building. I just don't worry about those. The only thing you could do is demolish all of your buildings and hope to find it. Gravestones will stay on the island when you sail anyway.
I moved to another island. However, I can no longer use the fountain (I had solved it on the previous island). Do I have to solve it again? I read somewhere here that you only have to solve it once. Very confused.
You still have the benefit of the fountain. When you go to the science lab to make potions, it will be an available ingredient. As long as you correctly solved the fountain mystery, you will have it for potions. It won't have a quantity number beside it like some other potion ingredients do, but it will be available.
Yes I am aware that there was an option to play 2 players but what I'm saying is that that option is no longer there. I was wondering what happened to it.And can I get it back to play for 2 players.
Other than setting up a second profile, I don't know how else you can have two players.
First of all, thanks a lot for this site!! It helped me a lot with some of great games like the series of VV and the Tribe Totem (a little bit of advertisement). ;)
Now, I have a problem with My Tribe, which is when I run it in minimized (by clicking the "windows" button on my PC), so that I can do other things and still hear what's going on on the island, every time I try to restore it, it takes me 3-4 tries, because the cursor from windows "jumps" upwards. Is it my PC or the game?
And also, having played all three VV, I've noticed
there's no good to have too many farms or have them too far from the food storehouse, because all your vegetables disappear if you don't collect them in time.
Once again, thank you for this blog!
I've got the "fountain" for potions I have 3 maxed out legendary scientists however when I put them on or around the fountain It stays a mystery and I cannot use the youth potion because the water isn't Identified
Please give any assistance if you're able too.
Did you follow all of the instructions in the walkthrough section at the top of this page? What message do you get when you drop a Legendary Scientist on the fountain?
Hey, I was wondering what the best islands were. Once I had this really great starting one that was huge and had the moon stone, tree stump, and fossil, but I lost the code. Anyone have any good ones they'd care to share?
I am trying to un-rust the red rock, and some of the tribe members say that it is going to be useful. Any ideas?
[Edit: Check the walkthrough at the top of this page. You will find how to solve all of the mysterious objects. -Pam]
please help me. I was playing the game and exited out but decided to build a new tribe so I went to that tab but Didn't change user. PLEASE tell me that I haven't lost my old tribe and please tell me how to restart it.
[Edit: It you clicked on Start New Tribe without changing to a new profile, it wrote over your first game, I'm afraid. -Pam]
Okay, so first things first, I want to share an observation about the "perfect couples".
If you mate a 100/100 person with a person who is less than 100/100, the child (or children if it is twins) will be 100/100. However, if you mate this child with another 100/100 born the same way, the children will not be 100/100, although their stats will be close. In order to have a 100/100 that will continue to produce 100/100 children, you must make two of your tribespeople 100/100 and mate them. If you then mate that 100/100 child with another tribesperson who has been increased to 100/100, the resulting child is GUARANTEED to be 100/100.
Basically, a 100/100 child must be produced from two 100/100 parents to be guaranteed to produce 100/100 children of its own later. Make sense?
Now, I also have a problem.
Every time I see a piece of stardust or moondust fall now, my game instantly closes, before it even hits the ground. I don't know if it will happen if a piece of stardust falls when I'm not looking, or if it will close when I go to find it if I happen to not see it fall. I've never had this problem with the game before... I have an observatory but I don't think it's because of the observatory because I have built an observatory before on a previous island and this didn't happen. I've collected 706 pieces of stardust and 709 pieces of moondust so far in the game and I need only one more trophy (the 969 year old tribesperson trophy). Can someone please help me?
I can never get the regeant rain water I have the rest please help
[Edit: You need to mix your potion while it's raining for rain water to be available to you. - Jay]
That sounds like a bug. I'll see what I can find out for you.
To those who deleted a profile and cannot play more than two now !!
I've 1.0 v and solved that problem :D
First I found all files about my tribe. Pofiles are stored in "Local Settings\Application Data\Grubby Games" file. I copied them into another driver. I uninstalled my tribe and delete all files related to it. Then when I install it I started my profile with the same name and add some other profiles. I quit and copied my ex profile into "Local Settings\Application Data\Grubby Games" file. Now I can add profiles.
I hope it works for you all!
I just wanted to comment about the Iron Wood tree. I saw someone mentioned that it only provides unlimited wood for potions, however I have had more than one islad ran off mostly ironwood and never planted anymore trees. I usually build multiple sun/moon towers on the island with the ironwood tree before I move on. You have to actually have the tree itself on the island in order to get unlimited wood for building though.
What good are the science points when you've maxed all of the categories?
I solved the ironwood tree mystery early in the game. However, once I changed islands, even though it might show that the new island also has an ironwood tree, I have yet to find it other than on the island where I solved the mystery to begin with. On the new island, it will show the glowing stump on the overhead map, but on the regular view, there is no glowing stump and no mature ironwood tree. How do I use this feature on future islands?
I wonder that too about the science points. Since I maxed them out, I only use the science station to train people who are attempting to become legends in all skills.
Once you solve the mysterious object of the old glowing stump and get the Ever Tree, you continue to have the benefit of the Ironwood for the rest of the game. It's not unlimited wood supplies. It's stronger wood for buildings. And you have it available for potions once it's been solved.
Yes, you will see the stump in the aerial view of the island, but you won't see the stump or the Ever Tree at ground level because it's already been solved.
I left my tribe too long and am left with 2 maxed out females. I know how to keep them alive, and because there are two of them, I assume they won't die from loneliness, but is it possible to have a tribe I created on another profile move to their island and join them so that they'll have males to reproduce with? In other words, if I put the number in of the island where my 2 women are when a tribe I created on another profile sails on, will they end up on that island with the two women there? If not, is there some other way I can build up the tribe with the two women?
It is doubtful that you could get another tribe to come to your two females. The two profiles are two separate games and I don't see how they could cross over.
Unfortunately, there's no way to bring males to the island, either.
Unless there's some quirk in the game that none of us have encountered, your stuck. Next time you have to leave your tribe for an extended period, be sure to put the game on pause.
Hey, befor when i was reading some of you FAQ i noticed somebody had asked my questtion.
The question was, "How do you travel to different islands?"
You said, "You have tofirst get level 3 technology, and build a shipyard, and then an ark."
WELL, I DO have level 3 technology, but i dont know how to build the shipyard. i looked in the place where you build huts, science station, etc.
P.S. Did you mean level 3 Construction? Thanks!
Before you said that in order to move to different islands, you need to get level 3 tech. and then build a shipyard, but i got level 3 tech and i cant build it. did you mean get 3 construction? thanks.
I really want to solve my mysteries on island, but i'm wondering with that unhealthy bush, does it really need to be a legendary farmer who will examine it, because all my people are some kind of scientists.
And it's really bugging me that I can't solve fountain mystery just because i can't find golden relics, although it was said it's hard to find. :(
[Edit: Please post your comment only once. -Pam]
Yes, you must have a Legendary Farmer to solve the unhealthy bush. It is doubtful that all of your people are scientists because there must be some who fish and farm to feed the tribe. Just get one of them to Legendary status and it's done.
As for golden relics, they aren't difficult to find. They show up on the beach at the beginning of a storm. Storms come on their own or you can create one using the information on the potions list.
You need level 3 Construction to build the Shipyard and Ark.
1 hour is one game time beause my newborn became 1 after around 1 hours time
I'm trying to get all the trophies, but I do not know which I am missing.
Hi! sorry if i'm taking up space in your comment box with stupid questions, but I was wondering whether or not you (pam) coold teach me a new, reliable, and easy way to get science points for that level 3 cons. level i need. Thanks!
You can view the Trophy screen from the menu. It will tell you all of the trophies that you can get.
Unfortunately, there's not an easy way to get tech points. You have to do it the old fashioned way by earning them. Put as many people as you can spare onto the science lab. You can use stardust and moondust to boost your tech points, too, but it's not by huge amounts. That's about it.
Thanks, this web rocks!
Well, for every tribeperson i check all works on the detail screen, so they all go fishing, they all do farming, art, science and so on. And when i click on each person they all do better in science (their green meter on detail screen is filled!!!).
How can i get one of them to Legendary status?
I am trying to obtain the "Build a Great Ark and travel to five new islands" trophy. So far I've travelled to 7 but I still haven't go the trophy... I'm not sure what's going on.
