Talk about your irony ...just after posting that last message, I went back to the game and guess who FINALLY became a Master Builder?
LOL - this game...
I have the same problem: Nothing left to build, all my builders are only adept and about 62. Have no master builder to work on the statue. How can I get master builders without any building taks to complete?
Above I read about someone posting a comment that there is a potion that will increase the building skills amongst the villagers. Can you please let me know what potion combination woul increase building skills in the villagers?
About the potion for energy -
The potion Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus will make the villager energetic and the do exercise. This will increase their construction skills... sometimes. It doesn't work every time.
how can i train a villager until they are adept scientists?
when i bring any villager to any of the five manmade items, they refuses!
what can i do?
i don't have an adept scientist and i just started the game...
is there ways to improve skills wifout doing a task?
About your statue -
You don't need Master Builders to move the statue. Trainee Builders are good enough. You can train them up to Trainee status by dropping them onto existing huts to repair. Or manage your time differently so that you had a hut to build before the statue came up. That way you can train many builders before you need them. It may go slow, but builders WILL gain experience repairing huts. And remember, you only need them up to trainee status. Be sure to drop the Chief on first or none of them will do anything.
I sure hope this helps.
Now I have another question..and it's really important to me to get an answer...:( I can't get any of my villagers to go into the medical area to study healing..I have tried and tried repeatedly. Is there a secret to this? Do they have to do research first in the lab? Please someone help me : )
ALSO..in the same vein...I have a couple that have gone into farming, is there anything special they should be doing to use that skill they are aquiring? I am trying to get the most out of everyone.
My chief died :-(
I have now 90 villagers - how do I find my new chief? Do I have to let them ALL try on the robe??
I finished all the puzzles and I have not yet got final Science or Medicine or even the last faction of Nature!
I haven't signed up, but I wanted to know; how long does a nursing mom take care of a baby for??
I'm getting a bit impatient xD
About studying medicine -
You need to have purchased level 2 Medicine. then you drop a villager near the desk area to the right of the beds. They do not need research first. They can go straight to studying medicine.
About the farming -
If there's no fruit or honey to harvest, and you can't fish yet... I would suggest putting your farmers on the research table to accumulate more tech points. Once fruit comes on the tree, the villagers will harvest it on their own if they have Farming training.
About your Chief -
Yes, you have to try all of your villagers to get a new Chief. I suggest using the details screen to scroll through everyone in order starting with either the youngest or the oldest. That way you won't accidently miss anyone. Note: nursing mothers and their babies have to wait until the nursing is finished before you can try the robe on them.
You can keep playing to get the last of the technology and the collectibles. Plus, a sewing hut can be built late in the game.
A mother nurses for 120 minutes on fast speed (2 hours). Longer if you're on normal or slow speeds. If you'll click on her details screen, it will tell you how long she has left to nurse toward the top of the screen.
I bought level 2 faction but I can't find the plant. Can someone help me figure this out.
About the new plants -
Level 2 Nature faction produces a Pitcher Plant. Level 2 Magic faction plant produces a Berry Bush. Both are located to the left of the alchemy lab. Click below for screenshots of each plant on my blog.
Finding a Chief if you have a large tribe
Everyone has a possibility of being the chief, which kinda sucks when you have a large tribe. Most people suggest scrolling through the details and checking all the villagers that way so you don't miss anyone. I paused my game and dragged all my villagers to the robe at once. It took less time then scrolling through the details but I only had 30 villagers or so. I'm not so sure how well this would work with very large tribes because of how cluttered the area becomes.
Can chiefs produce children? I've tried lots of times with my male chief to have a baby w/ someone, but it won't work. Is it possible or do I just need to keep trying?
Posted by: Lynn | June 18, 2008 6:46 PM
Chiefs can produce children. I read somewhere that a female chief has her nursing time cut in half further up but just like any other female they can't work so they won't be able to make magic food or direct jobs or anything while nursing
BIG, BIG TIP - (well for me at least)
Don't know if anyone posted this before but the children not only pick up artifacts and mushrooms, they PICK HERBS and (avoiding a spoiler here) put water where it is needed. Found out by accident. What joy!!!
Yes, and the children deliver the herbs much faster than adults!!
what do the chimes mean?
The chimes seem to be an indicator that there is a collectible or a mushroom somewhere on the island.
Please help! Ive been playing this game for like a week now, and I keep having to start over cause everyone keeps dying before I can get enough food! Any tips?
You have to get level 2 on medicine. Then just drop someone on one of the tables in the 'clinic' and they should start studying it.
Help me! My cheif is about to die, and every time i drag her to the food bin, it just says she can only do this every 24 hours, but im not trying to make magic food. How do I make her eat? Please Help!!!
I'm so frustrated! My fire keeps going out, but the white gem is never there! What am I doing wrong? Please someone help me!!!
one of the random occurences is a villager finding a tablet. if you let them research it instead of using it as decoration you will be able to acquire a higher level of alchemy for just 1000 tech points
About food -
First you get food from the beehive. Next, you plant seeds for three fruit trees. After that, you make a potion to get rid of the sharks so you can fish. Which ones are you having trouble with? I can give you more information on any or all.
About the Chief -
You probably can't get the chief to eat because of the magic food issue. If his/her health is down, you can make a potion that will help. Cactus+cactus+lotus plant. If your chief still dies, you'll have to find who the new one is. It will definitely be one of your remaining villagers, but a nursing mother and baby can't try on the robe until the nursing is finished.
About the gem -
The gem shows up after a certain amount of play. When you see white sparkles coming out of the fire, it's time to let it die out and find the gem.
I hope this helps!
After reading much from this webpage, i managed to get a villager with 2 masters at the age 14. This is how i managed to do it, takes some time though:
Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus will improve construction and you can start doing this when the child is only 2.
cactus + cactus + orchid will make villagers sick and you can use the same child to heal the villagers to improve healing
I had only 6 adept builders, all in their 60s, put them on repairing the huts for quite a while, the building skills did not seem to improve although I saw the messages 'this villager has improved in this skill'. Pam I also tried the exercise potion but the building skills did not improve.....by now four of the 6 are dead, it's just a matter of time until the other too will die as well....any other suggestions....?
I need at least one masters to complete the statue resurection (ie drawing up the plans)
Hey, i just want to say that i am like, addicted to this game!
but.. After the villager takes the potion "Tiger lilly, cactus, and black orchid", how do you get them to a building site or someplace so they can gain building points?!
About the builders -
The exercise potion doesn't always help. It's sometimes random. The villagers can be stubborn about not staying where you want them, especially with repairing huts for building skills. It's definitely tricky with the statue (you will also need a lot of builders to actually get it moved). Another idea would be to build your population and buy restoration technology so that more huts can be built (I don't know where you are in the game). Plus, a foundation for a sewing hut shows up late in the game.
About the energy potion -
After the villager takes the potion, the energy and building skills are automatic. You don't put them on anything. Just watch the bottom of the screen to see it. Note: The energy potion doesn't add building skills 100% of the time.
I keep reading about learning to fish. When and how can I do that? I have not been playing all that long yet, of course none of us have. But I did play the other 2 games. I just want to be sure that I am getting the most out of my game, and my villagers keep starving on me before that tree will grow and produce fruit. I have read pretty much all of the spoilers, and am just trying to keep my people alive now that the honey has run out and I have more than 2 hours before the tree is ready to feed anyone.
About food and fishing -
You can actually plant 3 trees to feed your villagers after the honey runs out. (Hint: use the lift to get seeds for the 2 other trees.) Fishing is the last and unlimited source of food. You have to be at level 2 faction to get the 6th herb that is part of the potion that gets rid of the sharks.
I hope this is helpful.
I found this out by accident and may not work for you. This is how you make your hives filled wif honey and trees with fruits.
Close the game.
Go to your control panel.
Set the time and reduce it by 12 hours(for normal speed).
Return to the game and you might find the hives with 3000 honey and trees with 1000 fruits.
*Warning* This might not work and may result in dire consequences that may result in you restarting. But if you are at your wit ends, just try your luck.
[Edit: Change your computer clock at your own risk! You can mess up your game and other computer functions that rely on the computer clock! I strongly advise against this type of solution. Thanks. -Pam]
I also would like to know weather I have to make my cheif or not. At least to build the lift or whatever. The thing is that my cheif, considering that it is nobody else, is a runner who learns quickly. He is almost a master at building and research, and is an adept farmer as well. If I make him the cheif as I know he is, then I will lose his quick skills, which are really helping me get tech points and finish clearing the wall, as well as build the hut. But if I need to make him cheif to build the lift, then I will of course.
Thanks in advance
Of all the awards, which do you guys think is the easiest to acheive.
I think is doctor who cured 30 villagers. The child prodigy is also very easy to attain.
Which do you think is the most difficult?
I think its the one for muchrooms. Really need spend alot of time and effort. The techpoint kinda hard as well.
Just as I finished posting the last time, I had 6 items pop up. I only have 3 kids, and missed 2 items as I was waiting for the kids to drop off their first items. Any suggestions on how to catch them all. They all popped at once as far as I could tell.
The 6 item drop just happened 3x in a row. Whew! That is really hard. LOL
About the chief -
You don't need a chief for the lift, just the 3 builders. However, you will miss out on the magic food that the chief makes.
About the collectibles -
Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to collect multiple items. It's one item per child. Even if you were to pause the game with the space bar, they would still have to take the time to carry it to the lab.
what is the giant clam for?
Thanks for the reply Pam, and now I've signed up :)
Anyways, I'm having trouble finding the cheif.
Do you have to wait for the children to grow up before they try on the robe & it fits?
You don't have to wait for kids to grow up to try on the robe unless they're still babies.
A quick suggestion for having a master builder available for fixing the statue
Leave your last hut to be built until you have all the appropriate technolgy, also after I finished getting level 3 in all technologies except the faction the sewing hut's foundation appeared. If you don't already have a master builder than at least you'll be able get one without having to resort to the energy potion or fixing huts which are the only ways to do so once all the necessary construction is completed.
I'm finally repairing my statue...I can't believe how slow its going not to mention the villagers are stubborn and keep trying to leave and do something else.
Thanks CharKohl :)
I've found my cheif now,
I'm having trouble finding the fruit-shaped object to plant a fruit tree & I have no honey left in my hive!
Can someone help me in any way?
About the fruit to plant for a tree -
The first fruit/seed would have been laying on the ground beside the lift when you first landed on the island. If you missed it, you'll have to get some using the lift. Once the lift is repaired, have a villager stand on it when it rains. They will be lifted up and a seed will fall. You can have up do 3 fruit trees by doing this.
The black pearl in the clam is one of the puzzles to be solved later in the game.
The more builders you put on the statue, the faster it will go. I had close to 20 builders on it in one of the games.
when I fly the master builder and the chief to the statue they don't start working nothing seems to work. I don't konw what to do can anyone help?? I havve level 3 everything.
About the statue -
First, fly your Master Builder along the path to the right of the statue. You'll see a spot that looks like a good place to secure the statue. Drop the builder there and he/she will build the scaffolding. After that, drop the chief in the same spot to begin directing the work. Then you can drop all your builders onto the statue.
hi i'm so frustrated with the statue! my villagers pushed it up the hill already and now they don't push the statue anymore however i drag them to it! and its not complete yet right... since they haven't set the statue upright yet. same with the chief... i keep dragging her there but she just does nothing!!! what do i do???
About the statue -
Your chief has to go back to directing work before any of the builders will work on it again. You should be able to fly your chief over the statue and path to find a spot that says it's a spot to start directing work again. Once the chief starts, you can add your builders back.
Okay. Wanted to share. So there are my "Esteemed Elders" hauling wood, water, stone and fish ... and FOUR year old 'Gata' is the new chief! Too funny.
My collections of leathers still lacks one. Does it connect with the burn-out torches near the firewoods? Why can't my chief point it out?
About the feather -
Collectibles are random. It wouldn't have anything to do with the burnt torches. Those were just for getting to the bee hive. The chief does point out rare collectibles when you put him/her near the door once every 24 hours, but it will still be random when they show up. The chief will easily point out collectibles that you already have. It's just a matter of time and patience for the last one to show up.
I am having no luck with my Tribal Leader pointing out hidden objects and collectables. I wait for ages so they can stand up at the top of the mountain. It even says she/he is pointing out the collectables but then I can't see any. It is very frustrating. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.
About the chief and collectibles -
The chief will point out only rare collectibles (feathers, turtle shells, sea shells, tablet pieces). When it happens, it's just telling you that there is a rare collectible somewhere on the island at that moment. You have to quickly search the usual areas to find it. Just like all other collectibles, it disappears after a very short time. It will also often point out rare collectibles that you may already have.
How do you get the sun dial
My statue is stuck and i can not get it finished my sister in law had hers stuck also and was told that we have the wrong version of the game can i download a virtual villagers over the one i have and still keep everything can someone help me pleasse
I finally got triplets...I wasn't even trying to, neither parent took a potion or was a master parent, I couldn't believe it. I guess triplets are just random, and I tried fertility potions in the past but they just made it easier to get a baby.
About the statue getting stuck
try moving your chief around the bottom of the hill until it says directing work, after your chief is directing the work then you'll be able to get builders to start moving it again.
To start the statue you must have the chief directing the work first, or the builders won't do anything.
Where to find the first fruit
It should be to the right of the lift, be careful if you have a person pick it up and then while they are caring the fruit select them and move them they will drop the fruit and you'll lose it. You can get more fruit by repairing the lift.
Do you still have the information about the newer version of Virtual Villagers 3 that corrected the statue problem for Melinda (comment above)?
[Edit: No word yet about it. It should be soon. I'll post about it when it's available. -Jay]
To Black Soul:
What exactly do you mean by "sun dial"? Do you mean the sun disk? I haven't seen anything with a sun dial in the game.
the spoiler for puzzle 16 if you open it up it says that you put a villager on the left side of the sun dial. it might be the sun disk, but i still dont know where are what it really is.
i can't figure out how to get triplets! i keep using fertility potions but it never works. i just get one baby.
oh and i noticed people talking about baby glitches. i always watch the population counter when i'm trying to get a baby. when it goes up, i drag the two away from each other and don't let them go inside at all. and POOF a baby appears in mom's arms. haha
About puzzle 16 -
The sun disk referred to in the above spoiler is inside a room at the top of the path behind the door. You need to obtain the three door keys to get inside. Once there, you'll find the sun disk that it's talking about.
i have all levels of everything, but still don't have all of my collections. Earlier i had over 30,000 in food, and came back about an hour later and the food had dropped to 7,000. why would that happen?
is the game compelete, now, other than sitting here and waiting for the collectible items to pop up?
hi, how do i train new builders? i have only 2 skilled builders for the statue puzzle! help?
About triplets -
It appears to be just random. It tends to come later in the game, though. I have a tribe with a population over 70 and had two mothers in a row with triplets.
The game can really go on indefinitely even after the puzzles are solved and the collectibles are found. There will still be random island events and such, but the game won't need your attention very much after a certain point.
About training builders -
You'll need a Master Builder to draw up the plans and start the scaffolding. Then you'll need a lot of builders to move the statue. I put around 20 builders on the statue and they got it done fairly quickly. They don't have to be Masters for that. You can train builders by building huts, clearing rubble, clearing leaves, restoring the bath. However, if you've already done those things, you can put them to work repairing huts. There is also a potion that causes energy and will sometimes increase their building skill. The energy potion is Black Orchid+Tiger Lily+Cactus.
To Pam, thanks for the tips! the potion really works!
You're very welcome, Liyana. I'm glad it helped!
I just wanted to say thanks to Pam for giving me tips on all my problems. It was really making me frustrated and it was really helpful!!! ;D
Aw shucks, Ashley. Now you'll make me blush. Heh. It's my pleasure. I'm glad you found the suggestions helpful. I'll be around if you need anything else.
All my female tribe members have died - I only have men left and so my tribe is going to die out. Is there anything I can do?
I've only seen people say ways to see how to know when you get a baby without letting the villagers going inside. I pause my game alot so I found it useful that you could still make babies while the game is paused. Even if you're not successful a first time you can still keep trying, sometimes the 2 villagers don't get along so you might have to unpause for that.
How do I get the fire started after I remove the key?
hey pam thanks for the advice... however i think my statue is a gone case. tried my chief at all the spots along the path, near the bottom of the path, and even near the statue base but he just does not start to 'direct work'.
don't know if something is wrong with my game. 'cos i was playing with 2 tribes at the same time, and my other tribe actually managed to finish the statue and get the key and all. to think i took such great care to keep dragging my builders to the statue in the first tribe n just let the 2nd tribe alone to work! so i would advise everyone to not meddle too much with your builders n let them go build huts n all 'cos they will come back to the statue eventually and all will be well.
can you please tell me how to pause the game. and is it possible to play the game in easy normal and hard all at the same time with different tribe name.
Ok heres my deal for the day. I have started a new game not once but atleast 7 times and i cant get the Food nor the Techs to add points, Should i unistall the game or drive myself ponkers. "aggervation verse's humor".
About the tribe -
Sometimes new villagers show up as random island events. Also, barrels of children will sometimes show up. Other than hoping for that, there's nothing else you can do.
You restart the fire the same as you did when you started it at the very beginning. Drop a villager on the firewood, drop one on the dry grass, then drop a villager onto the fire pit to start the fire.
To Welsh Witch:
To pause the game, either hit the space bar or click pause on the details screen.
I think it may be possible to play easy, normal, and hard on three different tribes at the same time. Each tribe will have its own detail screen where you can select the difficulty level.
I can't imagine what is preventing you from showing tech and food points. Try completely exiting the game and going back in before you reinstall.
Thank You for the information
You're welcome. :)
A tip, when the seals show up to the island, and they ask you if you want to feed them, it's the wrong choice. I lost 1000 food that way.
uh-oh!!ok, so im at the statue part and i only had two master builders and the rest were untrained. one of my master builders was like 67 so he died within half an hour along with my cheif. so then my new cheif was my other and only master builder. everyone else on the island is untrained. i have all three huts built and no way of making them more skilled. PLEASE HELP!!!
About your builders:
If you've already done all of the restoration and construction items, you can put villagers to work repairing huts. They are stubborn and you'll need to keep after them, but they will get to at least Trainee level this way. There is also a potion that causes energy and will sometimes increase their building skill. The energy potion is Black Orchid+Tiger Lily+Cactus. You'll need a lot of builders for the statue. I had about 20 on one of mine.
For people that ae running out of food here is some advice...First starting the game have your chief make food and have a farmer gather honey. Try not to make a lot babies. I never had more then 11 people till I was able to get the other trees planted and matured. Then I let them make a few babies...no more then 17 people. After I was able to fish, I let them make as many babies as they wanted. Because there is a never ending supply of food. If you do it this way your tribe will not starve. It does make the game kinda slow at first but it is worth it. It took 74 hrs to finish the game from start to finish, but it is well worth it.
i need help!
please can anybody tell me what to do :(
villigers pushed the statue way up high but thats it, their not doing anything more, i meane the statue is not done and when i'm droping the chief or builder at the statue they ignore it :(
what shell i do??
You need to put your chief back to directing work first. Fly him/her up and down the path until you see where it says a spot to start directing work again. Then you can drop villagers back onto it.
I have let my fire die out three times and still no gem. Now I am on fire number four. I let the chief make the fire thinking it would help but nothing. Any help?
About the fire -
Finding the gem in the ashes of the fire is a time thing. I've retrieved it in about 40 to 50 Isola years. Wait until you see white sparkles in the fire, then let it die out. You should see the gem after that.
I have stinky breath. how do I get rid of it?
