Ok, so I just found out about the cheat for puzzle #5, it's the puzzle where the chief and farmers have to do a rain dance, but I think I waited to long to do it because now every time I put my chief onto the fire she just runs away because the gem is to hot. Now what do I do about the unfinished puzzle?
I answered your question in our other Virtual Villagers 3 forum. Look for the response dated August 6, 2008 at 4:32 p.m.
where is the multi-coloured stick shaped thing?
The alchemy lab items are located in different places every time a new game is started, so I can't tell you where your stick is. However, I can show you a screenshot of what the stick looks like. It is often located at the edge of some bushes, half hidden.
Is it possible for anyone to put up a list of potions and what they do? thankyou
We have two Virtual Villager 3 forums. The other one is a complete walkthrough and includes Important Potion Recipes. Click here to visit:
Hi...I've been playing the game for a while now, and finally got the orchard and first hut done, as well as the alchemy hut and clearing the leaves...the beginning stuff, anyway. Well, all of a sudden it WON'T STOP RAINING! Its been raining for over an hour now...has this happened to anyone else? Will it stop eventually? I can't use the lift anymore because the bucket is always full, and the platform won't go back down. And they all keep running to the hut to get out of the rain. Annoying! I don't want to have to start over again...
I've never heard anything about it raining that long. It sounds like a little glitch. Have you tried exiting the game and going back in to reset it?
Yes, I closed out of the game and went back in again, and the first time it was still raining...but the second time it fixed it. I don't know what was up, but I'm glad its done now. lol
Thanks :) I love these games, they're so fun! I like seeing all the stuff they've done while I've been away, and I like a game that I can play without having to keep an eye on it 24/7. I played the other two, hopefully after this one there will be a 4th!
Hi! I have been reading the comments here to see if I am the only one having a problem with the statue and I see that I am not. I am also having the problem where my Master Builder won't draw over the bath plans. This is the very last puzzle I have to complete (other than the pearl and sundial) and I had to complete the clothing hut just to get enough builders trained and now I can't even draw up the plans. I have tried dropping Master builders onto the chalkboard about 150 times and they keep refusing. I am afraid that if I let this go on much longer then all of my builders will die and I will never get the puzzle completed! Help Please!! Also, I have the first version but BigFish will not let me redownload the game without uninstalling this one and then I would have to start all over! thanks!!
[Edit: Contact Big Fish Customer Support and explain the issue, and ask how you can install the newer version without uninstalling your current one. -Jay]
Chiefs can still make magic food when they have a baby! They don't lecture or help children locate items, but I don't see the benefit of those yet.
About the chief -
When the chief specifically lectures just the children, they gain experience in the various trades. It's very helpful when they become adults and already have trade skills.
Locating rare items can be very valuable, too. They don't show up very often on their own, but when the chief locates one from the top of the path, a rare item is somewhere on the island at that moment. Very helpful for completing collections, which boost your max population.
I need help with healing. Whenever I try to get one villager to heal (even a master doctor), they end up embracing which negates the villager being sick in the first place. How come my villagers aren't healing anymore but embracing?
About healing -
The actual act of healing is very quick. I'm wondering if maybe the sick villager gets healed and you don't realize it, so when you drop the doctor again they just embrace. Double check to make sure you actually have a sick villager. It will say sick on their details screen up by the health bar.
Let me know if you need more help. :)
Red mushrooms are worth more food than brown.
If you drag two children to the same item and put them onto it at about the same time they will both pick one up and you get double points/food.
I am having a problem rebuilding the lift. I have level 2 restoration, and I drop my master builder and adept builder and put the chief nearby and they keep refusing after a minute or so, anyone know what's wrong or have the same problem?
About rebuilding the lift -
You need three builders to repair the lift. They have to be at least Adept level.
I have a 33 year old villager who walks very slow. She is a Master Scientist - I don't know if that matters but I notice my last Master Scientist also walked very slowly. She seems too young to walk this slow!
Check the details screen for the villager who walks slowly. If it says she dislikes running, that's why she walks slow. :)
I would really like to purchase VV3 without having to download it on the internet. Does anyone know what store would carry it?
I'll check on it for you.
Help please. I have no more food. My people starving, but I cannot make the portion in order to make the sharks leave. I gather the right herbs. A master scientist goes to the alchemy lab and makes alchemy but nothing happens. In the end it says no portion here. I have the second level in alchemy and in science. Why can't I have the necessary potions? Help please.
About the shark potion and food -
You need to have level 2 Faction to be able to make the shark potion. What potion recipe are you using for the sharks?
Also, do you have all three trees in the orchard for food? They will be enough to sustain a village of 12 to 15 people until you get rid of the sharks.
Hi kids!! I have had so much fun with this game. I'm just playing it for fun now, but.. I just realized, what about the downstairs door in the amphitheater? Does it open? Have I missed something? I do not have all collections. Missing one feather, one shell.
Any help greatly appreciated! I never would have made it through without your help!
The only other thing I see that could look like a door is where the robe hangs when you're betweenn chiefs. It's not a door and doesn't open.
Yes, I have them but I am afraid that the supplies will end. The sea is an unliimited source. When will i have the second level of faction? I have the second level magic.
If you have purchased level 2 of your Faction, you now have the sixth herb. You said you've purchased level 2 of Magic, so it sounds like you have it. Let's first make sure you're using the right potion recipe. The Magic Faction shark potion is -
Let me know if you continue to have trouble.
Hello and thanx for the posts and the other forum :) very helpful
I need help with
the rain dance!! Ive completed a lot of puzzles, sharks are gone, one gem is in, baths.. a lot of stuff, however, i cant get the weather dance. I place the chief on the fire and some other villagers (2 adept farmers) and they dance but it doesnt rain! and i dont get the green pop up of the completed puzzle :(
I have everything done, 85 people and growing but the statue is at the top of the hill and I can't get any of my builders to work in order for it to get finished. The chief just do something else when I have everyone at the statue. Please help I don't want to start all over since I'm almost done.
About the rain dance -
I believe you need 4 Adept Farmers for the rain dance. Drop the chief first. You probably need level 2 Leadership, as well.
About the statue -
Make sure you put the chief on the statue first to start directing work again. If it still doesn't work, check which version of the game you have (located at the bottom left of the Details screen). There was a bug with the statue that was fixed in version 1.00.04. If your version is prior to that, you just need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download it again. Save it on top of your existing game and you shouldn't lose any progress.
I've upgraded everything to level 3. I have like 150,000 tech points and 40,000 food well 40 people and whatnot. I started on the statue and I went away from my computer for about 4 hours. Came back everyone stopped building it or should I say pushing it. I tried to put a builder back with the Chief directing work but nothing happens. Chief doesnt even say directing work and I've placed him everywhere on and around the statue as well as several builders still nothing happened. So what's going on here? I'm confused. Can somebody help me please?
Make sure you put your chief on the statue first to start directing work.
Next drop your trained builders.
If it still won't do anything -
If you've gotten to the top of the hill and stopped, you may have the version that has a bug in the statue. It was corrected in version 1.00.04. Check the lower left corner of your details screen to see which version you have. If your version is prior to 1.00.04, you need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download the updated version. Save it on top of your existing game and you shouldn't lose any of your progress.
If you can't find any store that has VV3 could you tell me if it has been retailed yet?
I haven't been able to find it for sale on CD at all. Even the game designer's site for it says they can't send CDs yet. The game was just released about three months ago, so maybe it's just too early.
Ok, thanks Pam!
hey there.. my chief died and i have over a hundred villagers. i think i have tried them all (except the ones that have babies) and none seem to fit the robe. i have just received the beginnings of the clothing hut and would like a chief to direct the work, but i can't seem to locate the right villager..
For those that have encountered a glitch in their version of this game which usuualy occurs at the end of the game when the statue is nearing completion don't despair.
I downloaded the newer version of the game ie version 1.00.04 and when I went to play it my new game loaded and the glitch was repaired. I was now able to "direct work" in the area of the statue and finished the game within an hour or so. Hope this helps others.
An easier way to find the chief is to pause the game and drop every villager onto the podium to try the robe at the same time. That way, you can make sure you have everyone. It's also funny to watch them when they all do it together. If you don't find a villager that way, your chief is probably one of the nursing mothers or one of the babies.
I am having the same problem that someone else recorded - I can't get my master builder to write over the Bath plans, even though the Bath is completed. Other comments said to update to version 1.00.04, but I AM using version 1.00.04, so is there something else wrong?
Someone please help! Thanks!
About the plans -
Version 1.00.04 is to fix a bug with the statue getting stuck on the path, not the problem with drawing the plans. A new version is due out soon, but you should still be able to overwrite the statue plans on top of the bath plans. It will look like a garbled mess on the chalkboard, but it will still allow you to build the statue. (I'm checking on the release of version 1.00.05.)
Hi! I'm having a somewhat strange problem.
My builders have managed to get the statue all the way up to the anchoring, but then it stops. Noone wants to do anything else. When I drop them at the statue(builders or chief) they just go about doing other things!
Am I doing something wrong, or is there something wrong with the game??
This has been addressed several times in this thread. You need to download version 1.00.04 to fix this bug. Please refer to my comment above dated August 29, 2008 at 1:23 a.m.
"I've upgraded everything to level 3. I have like 150,000 tech points and 40,000 food well 40 people and whatnot. I started on the statue and I went away from my computer for about 4 hours. It's me again. My version is 1.00.02. Is that bad? And no the other thing you said didn't work and I only have one trained villager. The only master one is my chief so i guess im screwed?
You need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download version 1.00.04. It will fix your problem with the statue.
Virtual Villagers 3 - FAQ
We see a lot of the same questions on this game, so here is a FAQ from JIG. Please read through these questions and answers before posting your question on the thread.
Question #1 - I've bought level 2 Faction, but I can't find the sixth herb. Where is it?
Nature Faction will give you the Pitcher Plant and Magic Faction will give you the Berry Bush. Both are located to the left of the Alchemy Lab. Here are screenshots to help you.
Question #2 - My villagers are starving. How can I get more food?
Plant all three fruit trees. You'll need level 2 Restoration to repair the lift. It will take three Adept Builders at the same time. After repairing the lift, put a villager on it when it starts to rain. The villager will be lifted up to the tree and a seed will fall. Do this twice to plant the fruit trees. You can support 12 to 15 villagers with the fruit from these trees.
Make it a priority to get level 2 Faction so that you can get the sixth herb. You must have this herb to make the potion to get rid of the sharks. Check the list of potions in the walkthrough to find the one you need.
In the meantime, your chief can make magic food every 24 hours and have your children collect mushrooms to help with food points. You can use a trick to double your food points when a child picks up a mushroom. Pause the game by tapping the spacebar, drop the first child on the mushroom, unpause and re-pause quickly by tapping the spacebar twice quickly, drop the second child. Unpause and both children will pick up the mushroom if you are quick enough. You can try to get three children if you're really quick.
Question #3 - I put two Adept Builders on the lift, but they won't fix it. What am I doing wrong?
You need three Adept Builders to fix the lift. Put them on it at the same time.
Question #4 - How can I get more tech points?
One thing that will help is duplicate collectibles. After you already have an item, the duplicates of it will earn tech points for you. Common items earn 100 points, uncommon items earn 250 points, and rare items earn 1,500 points. You can also double that amount by dropping two children on the item: pause by tapping the space bar, drop the first child, unpause and re-pause by tapping the space bar twice quickly, drop the second child, unpause one last time. If you do it quick enough, both children will pick up the item (or mushroom) for double the points.
Question #5 - My statue is stuck at the top of the path. My chief won't direct work. What do I do?
This is probably a bug that has been fixed in Version 1.00.04. Check the lower left corner of your details screen for your version. If you have the older version, go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download it again. Save it on top of your existing game and you shouldn't lose your progress.
Question #6 - My chief died and I can't find a new one. What do I do?
One of your villagers is definitely your chief. You can use the details screen to make sure you test every villager or you can pause the game and drop everyone on the robe at the same time. Keep in mind that nursing mothers cannot try on the robe. If none of your villagers is the chief, have the mothers and babies try on the robe when she's through nursing.
Question #7 - How do I get my villagers to have babies? How do they have twins and triplets?
It's somewhat difficult to have babies at the beginning of the game. It gets easier as you buy Medicine technology and villagers gain parenting experience. However, until then, you need to be persistent. Also, you don't have to wait for them to actually go indoors. When you hear the kissing sound after dropping them, that's when it happens. You can immediately pick the villager up and drop him/her again. Do it over and over until you see the population counter go up or the female is carrying a baby. Don't give up and it will happen eventually, even if you have to drop them 15 times in a row!
Twins and triplets occur randomly. They come late in the game after you've purchased medical technology and your villagers are in overall good health. Fertility potions don't help with twins and triplets..
Question #8 - I don't have any more building projects. How can I train more builders?
Your villagers can still gain building experience after all the projects are finished. Drop a villager onto a completed hut for repairs. There is also an energy potion that will sometimes (not every time) increase building skill. The potion is:
Cactus+Tiger Lily+Black Orchid
Question #9 - How do I get a villager past the age of 90?
There's not really anything specific to get a villager over the age of 90. It will come late in the game when you have most, if not all, of the puzzles solved. They help with the overall health of villagers. Also, maintain good conditions for the villagers. Keep the fire burning. Train lots of doctors. And keep in mind that the aromatherapy puzzle, for example, may not immediately produce longer life for the existing adults. However, children born after the aromatherapy puzzle will be healthier and will live longer. Also, having Nature Faction increases longevity. You'll get 90+ villagers eventually. I have a few who lived past 100.
Question #10 - How do I train doctors?
Once you purchase level 2 Medicine, you can train doctors at the hospital to the right of the science lab. It works just like training scientists. Drop a villager on the table area where the beds are and he/she will gain experience as a doctor.
Question #11 - Where are all of the herbs?
Here is a list of all the herbs, plus screenshots of each.
All the herbs:
Tiger lily - At the top of the path.
Rose - At the base of the cliff, where the children play in the dirt.
Cactus - To the right of the science lab.
Lotus Plant - To the right of the bath.
Black Orchid - Below where the children play in the dirt, against the wall.
Pitcher Plant (Nature Faction 6th herb) - To the left of the alchemy lab.
Berry Bush (Magic Faction 6th herb) - To the left of the alchemy lab.
Question #12 - Will I be able to collect all of the tablet pieces after the rubble is cleared?
Yes. The tablet pieces will continue to appear in the same area even after the rubble is cleared.
Quesion #13 - I've finished the bath, but the plans won't clear from the chalkboard so I can draw the ones for the statue. What should I do?
This is a known bug in the game. According to the game's developers, you can still write the plans for the statue on top of the bath plans by dropping a Master Builder on the chalkboard once the bath is completed. It will look messy with both drawings on top of each other, but you will still be able to do the statue puzzle.
Has anyone else had a problem getting the white gem key? I'm over 122 Isola years into the game and have completed all collections and purchased all of the techs. I even have the clothing hut, but I still do not have the option of putting out the fire.
I have the new version of the game. Just wondering if I'm being impatient or if I have run into a glitch.
About the ash key -
The fire will have white sparkles in it when it's time for the ash key. That's when you let the fire die out and it will be there. It's supposed to happen about 65 hours into the game.
I have the same problem as another lady. I have no master builders. I have been training one for a day and she will not go to master. She is almost there, but won't go on. I have played all the games and I like them all. Help if you can. Please and thank you.
It takes persistence, but your villagers will eventually get enough building experience on repairing huts. There's also an energy potion that will sometimes increase building skills. The potion is -
All I have left is 2 boys, so I can't make babies or anything and I'm pretty far in the game. What can I do? I really don't want to start over.
How did you get far into the game and get all the way down to just two boys? It's important to keep your population growing. Anyway, you can hope for a random island event that brings a new person or a barrel of babies to your tribe.
I bought this game off of iWin.com i had played the game for a long time and then it would not open.. anyway, they refunded the money and I would like to buy the game again but from a different place. my question is, will i have to start all over again, or will it recognize the other game i had. and, is there somewhere you recommend me to buy it from?
[Edit: It will not likely recognize the other game you had, since each place of purchase stores their game files in a unique location. If you don't mind a game manager similar to iWin's, then Big Fish offers the best price through their game club, but that also means you'll be obligated to purchase several more games from them (all at a discount, however, so it's really not that bad of a deal). If you want a stand alone game without any game managers, the casualgameplay.com store has a simple and effective installer, and helps support this site with your purchase. =) -Jay]
I couldn't find the pitcher plant so I couldn't make the shark potion. Help.
I've gotten everything except Jack of all Trades in the puzzle awards section. My problem is that all the buildings have been built, leaves cleared, statue, etc. All my master builders have died and I can't figure out what else I can do to get more master builders. Anyone have any ideas?
This is addressed in the FAQ at the top of the comments.
I added your question to the FAQ at the top of this page. Please check there for help.
I was going to ask if anyone had finished all the collections, but I see that some have. Can someone give a few hints on how it can be done ? I have been playing the same tribe for weeks now - my tribe is maxed out & I have finished all the puzzles. I still need 1 rare Turtle Shell, 3 rare Feathers (yes... 3 !!!), & all 3 rare Tablet pieces. All I'm getting now is mushrooms (I'm really starting to hate those mushrooms). Any help ???
About rare collectibles -
With level 3 Leadership, your chief can point out rare collectibles every 24 hours. Put him/her at the top of the path next to the door with the three keys and wait for the little dance. When you hear the gong and see the rainbows above the chief, there is a rare collectible somewhere on the island in the usual places. You have to find it quick because they are on a timer like all collectibles are.
Could you please explain what "About rare collectibles 0" means ? I'm sure it must be me, but I just don't understand what "0" means.
Thank you for your reply anyway
My apologies. The "0" is a typo. It was supposed to be a "-" to lead into the spoiler. I'll correct it. You just need to click on "spoiler" to see what I wrote about rare collectibles.
I have gotten all of the puzzles, but my people still see a tree with fruit high on the mountain top above the lift. I can't get them to do anything about it. Does anyone have any ideas?
We have two threads for Virtual Villagers 3. I answered your question on the other thread.
Thank you very much Pam :o)
I'll give it a try...
One more quick question - do villagers earn tech points only by working in the lab or can they earn them by working at their skill ?
Scientists are the only ones who earn tech points and they have to be working at the research table. By "working at their skill" do you mean a Builder doing contruction or a Farmer fishing? Those things won't accrue tech points. A farmer's job is to gather food, while a scientist's job is to earn tech points. Of course, a villager can have more than one job, but if a scientist is learning to fish, he/she won't earn tech points. They have to be at the research table for that.
There's also another way to earn extra tech points. Look at my FAQ at top of this thread. Question #4 is about tech points.
I am not sure about the problem I have here. This is now the third time I started back to the beginning. The first time, I used the magic side and after awhile, I was left with just 3 males alive, so I had no choice but to start over. Then the second time, I think it is just an error on my part and I should have chosen the other side of the game, but to no avail. After awhile I was doing good and even had most of the collectible items. I had a population of around 60. I started to move the statue and it went half way. I could not figure out why I could not get a new chief after he died. this was my 3rd chief on this game. After a few days, I gave up and started over again. Now I again chose the magic side of the game and have a very healthy population 99. I never did see a chief, so I tried all of them starting with the oldest one to the youngest one of 2 years old. At the time I tried, I had no women who were carrying a baby.
So now my question is, because I have no chief and had none on this 3rd try, is there an age where the villager can claim their crown? The reason I ask is because i cannot find anyone who is qualified to wear the robe. I tried from 14 years and over, then I thought I need to wait until one of the villagers who is not 14 years old because he or she may not know to be chief. I paused the game and took each villager to try the robe one by one. I had 29 kids under 14 years old. None of them wore the robe (the robe does not fit). I tried the same thing with all the rest of the village and with the same outcome. Have I missed anything here?
I have all of the items to be collected and have 99 villagers. I bought all of the tech possible. Why can't I find a chief for my village? Please help. this is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance.
You first mentioned that your statue went halfway. Let's make sure you have the most current version. Look in the lower left corner of your details screen to see the version number. If you have anything earlier than version 1.00.04, you need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download it again. It will save on top of your existing game and you will not lose your progress.
Now, about finding a chief -
I checked and found there is no known bug with the chief. I'll see if I can help you with this. The way the game is written, one of your villagers is definitely chief and they don't have to wait to be a certain age. It sounds like you are being thorough, but maybe there is someone you are missing. 99 villagers is a lot to sort through. Try pausing the game again and dropping every villager onto the robe. Watch the bottom of the screen and make sure it says "trying on robe" for each villager you drop. Sometimes they embrace instead and you have to drop them again.
Also, use the details screen and scroll through each villager, no matter how old they are, and drop everyone on the robe. It will take a lot of time, but if you have no nursing mothers, one of them will be chief.
Good luck and come back if you still have problems.
Thank you very much for your fast response. When I wrote my statue was halfway to the top, it was my second try. I didn't try it yet this time because I do not have a chief. When I go to my tech points, I see I have one missing portion on the top (I used magic for the second time).
Now I have 114 villagers. The reason I have so many is because my master builders are getting old (I have 3 of them, 5 master scientists, and a bunch of other qualified to do just about anything). I looked at the youngest one of the village and made her try the robe (did not fit). After that I just used the arrow to go to the next older one. I had 4 kids at 2 years old and I went to the whole village. No one was able to wear the robe.
My version is ok. I have 1.00.04. It is a great game. I love it, but I think there is a glitch in it. Just wondering if, on the first day I started the game, I did something wrong. I had to go away for a short time and when I came back, I had 4 dead. I continued with just a small group of peeps. Now wondering if one of them I lost in the very beginning was supposed to be the chief. I am now getting frustrated with this game. The third time is supposed to be the charm. Not for me. Help please.
I don't think you did anything wrong, but I don't have an answer as to why you can't find a chief now. Even if one of your original villagers was supposed to be chief, it would have changed when he/she died.
I can only suggest that you start another tribe and see if you can get your chief early.
Thanks Pam that really helped alot.
i already have 3 tribes ...what you mean is starting over again ?or just start a new tribe just to see if i can get a chief .and this will help me how ?
thank in advance for the time you take for helping me ....sevens...have a nice day ..
Starting another tribe won't help the tribe with no chief. I only suggested it so that you'll have a chance to complete all the puzzles. However, you're probably able to do that with one of the other tribes. Hopefully, the inability to find a chief is limited to just the one tribe.
I dont feel like checking, but I saw a post mentioned that the farmers can fish. They can? And if so, how....exactly? Do they have to adept/master farmers? Or do they have to have something? I'm really confused on that subject.
About fishing -
Yes, farmers can fish. It's the unlimited food source after you solve various puzzles. They don't have to be Adept or Master. Any villager can do it, however, you have to go through all the steps.
If you drop a villager into the ocean, they will swim out of it because of the sharks. So, you need to get rid of them to fish. That's the puzzle to have unlimited food from fishing. About half the game surrounds that one issue.
I can't really help you much without knowing exactly where you are in the game. If the walkthrough and FAQ don't help you, I'll try to answer your questions.
Thanks =] Also, I was playing the first VV, and I remembered about the school thing. Is there one in the 3rd one also? Or something similar?
I started a new tribe and have been playing about 24 hours a day. Now I have the max population 125 and I have bought all the tech. I also have a chief (my second one in that tribe). Now my statue is just about at the top and the chief is just concerned about food or praising the tribe or thinking. Anything but directing work. I need help here before I go insane. Please, hurry up.
The VV3 equivalent to the school is when the chief teaches the children. You need level 2 Leadership. Drop the chief on a child and they will have a lecture that gives experience to the children.
Try to find the "hot spot" along the path and on the statue. It will say something about seeing a spot to start directing work again. If it just won't work, it sounds like the bug that was corrected in version 1.00.04. I believe you said that you already have version 1.00.04. But if not, you need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download it again. It will save on top of your existing version and you shouldn't lose any progress.
I love this game! I have been playing a long time with several different tribes. I have solved all the puzzles. How do I get villagers to be 90 years old? They all die in their early 70's even when they are fully healed. The fire is lit and Aromatheraphy has been achieved.
Do I need lots of doctors? What activities should the elderly do?
I've added your question to the FAQ at the top of the page. Please check there for help. :)
What is puzzle 7?
Puzzle 7 -
It's the rubble that needs to be cleared in the middle of the very bottom of the island.
What should I do? The counter for the mother's nursing time doesn't go down! I've waited for like 10 minutes, but the mother still says 123 minutes. All the other counters still work, like the potion time and the tree time. Please help!
Have you tried shutting down the game and then re-opening it? This often helps by letting the game refresh itself.
Hmm... It seems like it just moves extra slow?
I dunno, after some time of playing it just goes down by three minutes. Does that happen with everyone?
Like it goes from 123 to 120, 117, 114, etc etc?
It's kinda strange.. :/
And also, how does alchemy help tech points? I don't receive tech points for completing a potion or anything. So what are potions good for? Except the speed up and healing one?
None of mine have done that. It stays pretty much on time. If I have 123 minutes left for a nursing mother, I'll have a two year old running around in a couple of hours. That's a weird thing.
Alchemy doesn't directly effect tech points, but you need Alchemy to solve a couple of the puzzles. If you need some specific help, click on the link to the walkthrough thread at the top of comments. There's a lot of information there that will probably help you.
My village is like.. Slowly fading away. Can old people, like 50+ in age, still make babies? Cuz all of my villagers are 50+ except for 2 boys, and im down to 8 people. I dont wanna start over, i only need to do 3 more puzzles.(The statue, the pearl clam key, and the treasure sun dial thing?) Help :(
Female villagers cannot have babies over the age of 50. Males can still father them if there is a young enough female. If you have no females under 50, about the only thing you can do is hope that a barrel of babies shows up as a random island event, which will allow you to have babies if there is a female.
It's important to continue to increase your population throughout the game. At the level you are, you should have at least 25, maybe even 50 villagers. It takes up to 15 trained builders to solve the statue puzzle alone.
I have built everything and I had two masterbuilders put up the statue. They died while I was sleeping. I built everything and now I dont have master builder for the clam key and don't know how to get one. What do i do?
*sigh* Time passed, and now im down to two people. A 25 year old guy, and a 2 year old boy. The 25 year old is the chief. I guess I'll have to wait for an event.
[Changing the subject a bit] What does the level of difficulty do? Does it increase the chance of island events or something?
The difficulty level changes how much food they eat and how sick they get. If you set it to hard, food won't last as long and your villagers will get sick quite often. I don't think it changes island events, though.
I have a tribe on the original Virtual Villagers that I put on the hard setting. They were doing great, had a population of over 25, unlimited food. Then overnight all but the small children suddenly died for no apparent reason. Then half of those children died. I was left with 4 small children aged 4 to 6, in very bad health. The food bin was empty and there was no adult to harvest crops or fish. I kept them alive for 10 Isola years on nothing but mushrooms. The 4 survivor kids all lived into their 90s and the tribe is up to like 70 people now! :D

Sorry, I feel like I'm spamming up the comments page, but here is yet another update thing. I got an island event. Yay, but boo. It was a "donation" of a person... YET ANOTHER MALE. I guess I'll just have to wait... But I'm concerned if a female or children will come before all of the current people die. :(
Is there an easier way to train a healer? In the last two games, you can just go study the plants and they can learn healing. In this game though, I have absolutely no idea how to get that unless the villagers are sick, which they usually aren't... Please help! Thanks. >
Oh, and another question...
Where do I find the third fruit? I fixed the lift and I have the original fruit and the two other fruit trees. Where is the third one?
About training healers -
Once you purchase level 2 Medicine, you will be able to train doctors in the hospital area located below the fire. It works much like the research table for scientists. You'll be able to train many doctors all the way to Master level.
About the fruit trees -
You can grow a maximum of three trees in the orchard. One from the piece of fruit that you found on the ground upon arriving, plus two more from using the lift to get two seeds/fruit. Once all three trees are mature, you will get the box saying you've solved that puzzle. No more trees after that.
I hope this helps.
If you don't get a female in time, at least you'll know what to do differently in you next tribe.
And... we don't consider what you're doing to be spamming. :)
Ugh, this is REALLY strange.
So I had my female villager get pregnant, starting at 123 minutes. That translates to a little over 2 hours right?
A long time after, I planted my fruit trees, they took about three hours to plant. I trust their timer to be about accurate.
However, now that both my fruit trees, starting at three hours, have overlapped the female villager in time: Fruit Trees: 14 minutes; Female Villager: 39 minutes.
I really don't get this. Last time it said it was going to end in 12 minutes, turned out it ended 30 minutes afterwards. It still also has the tendency to decrease every three minutes, even though it has been around eight minutes in real life.
Does anyone else have this problem? I really don't understand. All the other counters work fine...
And I have tried to restart the game; same problem still exists.
And thanks again Pam for your help! ^^
Ah! The parent has been holding the baby for 15 minutes when the counter say 0 minutes!
I tried restarting the game 3 times! All that did was cancel the effects of the fast running workers that I assigned.
What am I doing wrong? I even finished building another house because I thought that it was because there was not enough room.
