To JIGuest:
Doctors aren't trained the same way in this game as in the others. They don't study the herbs. Instead...
After you purchase level 2 in Medicine, you can drop a villager onto the hospital area to study medicine. He/she will accumulate medical skill similar to the way a scientist gains skill by researching. It's actually much easier to get trained doctors in this game.
To Kelli:
About training builders and the clothing hut -
You can train builders by repairing existing huts after everything is built. The foundation for the clothing hut comes late in the game, usually after all technology is purchased.
If you need specific help with your last two puzzles, post here and I'll try to help you. :)
To gio:
About having babies -
It's harder to have babies if you are in the early part of the game. However, a couple of things might help. You don't have to wait for them to actually go inside. Once you hear the kissing sound, it's done. You can immediately pick them up and drop them again. Do this over and over (even up to 10 or 15 times) until you see the population counter go up or the female is holding a baby.
I have only played 1 & 2 online and am starting VV3 now, after buying it. I have an eight year old who is an apprentice docter. Can I make her a master docter before the age of 14?
P.S.And also, anyone looking for a way to train a docter without buying medicine tech, make an awful potion, get many villagers to drink it, and then you have a handful of sick vilagers to heal!
P.P.S.How Long Does Your Fire Need To Be Burning to get the ash diamond?
To Michael:
You can complete the collectibles if you haven't already done so. After that, the game will keep on running indefinitely until something happens. I've had tribes get all the way to 90 and then drop to 20 after disasters and such. It can still be amusing after you finish the puzzles and collections.
To reymembeer:
About training builders -
You can train builders by dropping them on existing huts to repair them. There is also an energy potion that sometimes increases building skill. The potion is Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus.
About the statue in particular -
You will need a Master Builder to draw the plans and build the scaffolding for the statue. After that, they only have to be Trainee level to work on the statue. You'll need lots of them, too. I used at least 15 on my statue. The more builders you have working on it, the faster it goes.
To ImAnElephant:
About old villagers -
I'm unaware of a youth potion. I've seen random island events that turned an adult back into a kid, but even that won't do any good because you don't have any males to repopulate your village. Sometimes new people arrive at the village or you'll find a barrel of babies (both are random island events that you can't control). That's about your only chance at this point. It's always a good idea to keep your population growing to make sure you have both genders to keep the tribe alive.
To messed up:
About your chief and the statue -
You'll have to put your chief back on task first. The villagers won't do anything until the leader is in place. There's a hot spot on the path that will show as being a place to restart the statue project. If none of that works, check your version. There is a bug in the game at the point of the statue that is corrected in version 1.00.04. If you have the earlier version, you'll need to download the updated version on the same site that you originally purchased the game from.
I've finished the game for a long time now, and I didn't use any help, but now I'm just wondering - is there any way to get over 90 people? Every hut is done, even the clothing hut, but I've seen people with 500 or more villagers - even in screenshots! Now what? I don't know what to do, I even made a uniform for my villagers, the white dress with blue for girls and white suit with blueish belt for boys. Now that's boring, and I have nothing to do on it. Now what should I do? Any secret puzzles or anything like that?
To someone:
The max population is 90. It will go higher if you have the Magic faction and possibly a little higher if you have completed the collections. The most I've seen is 110 villagers. I'd really like to see those screenshots that show populations of 500. My guess is that someone photoshopped them and they aren't real. The game simply doesn't go that high.
Unfortunately, there are no secret puzzles.
If you haven't played them already, you might enjoy the first two Virtual Villagers games. You can find them here:

To Jelena:
About making babies -
You don't have to wait for them to go indoors. Once you hear the kissing sound, it's done. Keep dropping them on each other as soon as you hear the kissing sound until the population counter goes up or the female is holding a baby. It's harder in the early stages in the game, but they WILL make a baby if you don't give up.
To Jelena:
This game just came out a couple of months ago, so it will probably be awhile before a fourth one comes out. It seems to take about a year between new games. Have you played Virtual Villagers 1 and 2? You can see them here:

To Random Guy:
There are some things your builders can still work on -
Clear the leaves in the lower right corner of the island.
Clear the rubble at the lower center of the island.
About the lift -
You need to purchase level 2 restoration to repair the lift. It will take 3 Adept Builders working on it at the same time.
To Pat:
About the tablet piece -
If the piece you're missing is a rare piece, the Chief can help find it every 24 hours once you've purchased level 3 Leadership. Otherwise, it will just have to appear randomly like all the other collectibles do.
About the cliff on the right side of screen -
No. They just jump to get the pink gem and use the lift to get seeds for the orchard.
About the huts -
There are three living huts and one clothing hut.
I tried flying the chief and the only messages I see are "... Sees a fallen statue" and "This looks like a good place to anchor the statue" but i've already got the statue to the top curve of the path.. I'm very confused as I've tried a number of times and nothing seems to be working.. I am almost done all the puzzles etc and I really don't want to start again
To Demonic Diva:
Try a couple more things. Exit and re-enter the game to see it if will reset. Also, check your version in the lower left corner of the Menu screen. There were a couple of bugs that were fixed in Version 1.00.04. If your version is prior to this, you'll need to download the game again from the original site where you purchased it.
Thanks Pam,
I tried to get the chief to point out the rare tablet piece- no luck.
There were lots of shells showing up, no tablet piece.
I have completed all the puzzles and all but the one tablet piece in the collections. This is a tad frustrating... any other ideas for finding the last tablet piece?
Hi Pam,
Yes, I have all but two of the awards- I have so many tech points I can't even tell you!
Just can't seem to get the last piece of that tablet....grrrrr.
I also have a max population of 105.
Someone said they thought it maxed at 90.
21 buried so far.
Fun game even though I hate the wait for the tablet piece.
To sar:
About food -
Make sure you have all three trees planted in the orchard. The fruit will regenerate over time. In the meantime, have your chief make magic food every 24 hours and have the children pick mushrooms. Here's a little trick to double the food points for mushrooms. Pause the game using the space bar. Drop a child on the mushroom, then quickly tap the space bar twice more to unpause and repause the game. Drop a second child on the mushroom and unpause one last time. If you are quick enough, both children will pick up the mushroom for double the food points. This is especially helpful with the red mushrooms, which are worth 35 food points each.
About tech points -
Use the mushroom trick on collectibles. If you already have the collectible that appears, it will convert to tech points if you pick it up, double if you use the pause trick. Duplicate regular collectibles are worth 100 tech points, uncommon items are worth 250 tech points, and duplicate rare items are worth a whopping 1500 points. Other than that, just put every available villager on the research table to earn the most tech points.
I hope this is helpful. :)
Hey Pam,
I just realized we can change the names of the villagers! You are amusing yourself with haircolors? Can we change their hair color or is it "breeding" ha ha...
This is curious to me also-- my Roster of the Dead only has 129 people, yet when another villager dies of old age, their name does not appear..have I reached the maximum allowed?
Pat
Hi Pat.
The hair color is a breeding thing. I started a village that happened to have mostly black haired villagers. I only let the black haired ones have babies. In this game, children can resemble their parents. Sometimes a blond or a brown haired will show up, but it's about 95% black haired. I have a yellow haired tribe, too. They had a couple of light brown haired babies born, and when those bred they had red haired babies!!
On my newest tribe, I started changing their names as soon as they showed up. I'm finding that I remember them easier if I name them.
About the Roster for the Dead, I've got one with close to 250 names on it, so I don't think it has a limit. Sometimes it just glitches and misses someone.
To SpecialSugar61:
Ok, I see where you are. Here's the solution:
You need to restore the Alchemy Lab before you can do anything with the herbs. There are various items scattered around the island that need to be collected to restore the lab. Use at least an Adept Scientist to pick them up.
I try to give the least amount of information to help you figure out the puzzles, but if you need more help, come on back and I'll give you more information.
Good luck!
To SpecialSugar61:
To restore the Alchemy Lab -
There are a total of five things that you need to locate to restore the Alchemy Lab. You'll find them scattered around the island.
1. Orange urn
2. Red and white striped urn
3. Yellow urn with white stripes
4. Blue bowl with wooden utensils
5. Gray and orange stick
I hope this is helpful.
To Julie:
First, exit the game and then go back in to see if it will reset the drawing. If it's still there, this may be one of the bugs in an earlier version. Check the version in the lower left corner of the Main Menu. If you don't have version 1.00.04, you'll need to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download it again. Save it on top of your existing game and you shouldn't lose your progress.
Julie,
I've been able to find out that there is a known issue with the bath drawings. However, I believe you can still get the statue drawings on top of the bath drawings, which will allow you to complete the statue. We're also checking to see if the newest version that fixes the bath drawings issue is available for download yet.
Pam,
Thank You, Thank You, I was beginning to wonder it I some how broke the game. :) I hope the newest version for the bath fix is ready soon. I have been trying to get the master builder to draw plans anyway but he refuses. All my villiagers do now is die of old age and have babies to replace them, Oh and make strange drinks in the science lab. They are at minimum getting tech. points.
Julie,
You're welcome. I'll post here again as soon as I hear from Jay about the new version.
In the meantime -
The statue will need a lot of trained builders. It will hold about 15 of them. It would be a good idea to keep your villagers trained in building until the new version comes out. They can repair huts to gain building skills.
Pam,
I'm going to try that next time. It sounds like fun! I found my chief this time before I saw your message but I just picked the right person by chance or even the game got tired of me trying so hard to find the chief and let the next villager I picked be Chief. :) Hey, works for me! Chiefs don't last that long and this one is 17. My last one was 3. Old age comes fast. I just got my level 3 nature and that has been helping them live longer. The clothing hut showed up so I am keeping my builders trained on it until the statue can be completed. Thanks for your help Pam.
To Julie:
Version 1.00.05 is expected to be available in a few days. This is the version that will fix your problem with the bath plans not disappearing from the chalkboard. However, the creators of the game say that the bug isn't game-blocking. You should be able to overwrite the bath plans with the statue plans. Why don't you try again to drop a Master Builder on the chalkboard and see what happens.
I keep running into a problem when I get to puzzle #9.
When I finally get the tech upgrades for the statue, all the other building tasks are so long finished that I only have one or two older builders left.
And when I try to hold back on the building tasks, like the rubble, they actually complete the tasks themselves when I'm not actively playing.
Is there any way to build that skill after the tasks are done?
To Lisa:
About builders -
You can train builders by having them repair the huts. There is also an energy potion that will sometimes increase building skill. The potion is Black Orchid + Tiger Lily + Cactus.
About the statue -
Just as a note, you will need quite a few trained builders to complete the statue. A Master Builder is needed for the plans and to build the scaffolding. The rest only have to be at least Trainee level. Train as many as you can. The statue will use as many as 15 trained builders.
that potion to get elderly walk faster is wrong, that the light and springy potion, or is there a certain order? if so how....ty
