Hi, Thank you in advance for your help.
My villagers in vv2 stop collecting food (fish, coconuts) if I don't make them, even though they are Master Farmers. They just stand around doing nothing or go doing something else, even though there is plenty of food to be collected. I have level 2 Farming.
That makes it impossible to let the game running while not attending to it. Annoying.
Any solutions, please?
Is the maximum population 40? Because I've never passed 40.
Make sure you have Farming selected on the villager's detail screen. Otherwise, he/she won't always stay on task.
The maximum population starts at 90. Completing the collections adds 5 more villagers each, so it's possible to reach 110 villagers.
when will vv3 come out for the itouch + iphone ?
i will get it if it $2
It's likely only a matter of time before VV3 is also available. -Pam]
I bought the culture tech level two so I would be able to build the sewing hut, but no foundation appeared! Was there something else I needed?
The sewing hut should indeed appear after you purchase level 2 of Culture. Try closing the game and then opening it up again. Sometimes this helps reset the game. The clothing hut foundation will appear way down at the bottom of the island...down and to the right of the hut where they "go indoors."
there has got to be a way to get tech points quicker than having half a village doing research!!! anybody have a helpful hint??
I don;t have a cauldron in my wood pile.... I think i may have accidentally dropped it on my way to the fire or something, but it's not there. does this mean i have to start over? because i really dont want to. i've gotten really far already.
Regarding tech points -
Your villagers accrue tech points faster once they get to the Master level. Also, duplicates of the collectibles give you extra tech points.
About the cauldron -
If your villager got interrupted while carrying the cauldron, try closing your game and restart it. The cauldron should either reappear in the woodpile or it will be next to the fire.
How do you get the gong pieces and whats there to do for the Builder when you make everything. And how do you open the crate like thing?
I have made about 4 million trips to get algae eating fish and the algae isnt gone!!!! how do i make it go away?!?!?
The gong pieces and crate are puzzles that are included in the walkthrough located at the top of this page. For builders, they can gain experience repairing huts once all of the building projects/puzzles are completed.
About the algae -
It doesn't take 4 million trips, but it does take quite a few. Drop as many qualified villagers as you can into the lagoon and drop them again when they come out of the ocean. Like an assembly line until you get the message that says the algae is gone.
I've played the games a bunch of times and I'm finally very far.
But now I need to lift the crate near the ocean to get a gong piece. I only have 2 trained builders and I need a 3rd one, but I've run out of places to build, so I can't make another aster builder.
I need help.
So I have been playing VV2 for like a month and I love it! I'm having just a little problem with the plants. I can't seem to get my villagers to master them. Does it take a special villager mastered in healing or mastered in something else. And how long does it take to master the plants. Please help me?
You can train builders by repairing huts.
The plants are one of the first puzzles you can solve. Any villager can do it. No training is required. It's possible that you just haven't found the right ones.
What do you do when you finish all the puzzles? Oh, and does anyone know when vv3 is coming out for the iPod touch? Thanks!
Why "teaching children" seems useless? i have a adept parent who master at building but the children do not show any progress on building skill.
Why do I no longer produce "Masters" in any craft? I have a strong work force gathering food and doing research (builders unfortunately can only build when provided a foundation to build on) and for the past three or four real life days they've been working diligently but NONE of them have passed "Adept" status since the 2nd generation villagers. I have level 2 in all my tech (3 in farming) but I've only managed 2 Esteemed Elders - both were original villagers who have long since passed away. Am I doing something wrong? I've got lots of food and their health is good (I have a couple "adept" Doctors who also won't reach "Master" status). It seems none of the 3rd or 4th gen villagers get Master status...?
Once the puzzles are solved, you can finish the four collections. After that, the game will just run indefinitely unless there's an island event that causes trouble or you severely neglect the tribe.
To Virtual Player:
The skills that the children receive when being taught are random. It doesn't matter if the adult teacher is a master in a skill.
It seems like a long time, but they will eventually reach Master status. If you've changed the speed of your game, that could be the reason it has slowed down. Also, the difficulty level to reach Master seems to be harder than to reach Adept.
How long does it usually take to master the plants? I have tried several times with different villagers and i havent been able to get anywhere. Any suggestions?
Did you not see my answer to you or did it just not help?
Omg, I keep getting a little into the game, and then all of a sudden, when I exit out of VV, it just crashes and goes back to the application page and makes me start all over again... How do I stop this?
I have completed all 16 puzzles, reached level 3 on everything, all I need is the last bug and last pebble. (Using ipod touch, cant have more then 40 people)How long does that take, been looking 3 days now.
Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you because you're playing on an iPod Touch. :(
I don't know how much different the game is on the iPod Touch, but in the regular game, the appearance of the collectibles is completely random. There is no way of knowing exactly how long it will take those last ones to show up.
Can anyone help? I've been playing for weeks, solved all the puzzles and have pretty good stats. However, once I reached 50 village elders I no longer got any new ones. I've had around 15 villagers now, all masters in ALL areas, but no new village elders or totem poles. Anyone have any ideas why (I'm ranked 50 in the stats and would like to improve it). Thanks in advance. Drew
ok. so i have done all 16 puzzles and all the collections. Im playing on the ipod touch. I see inthe pic about that all the villagers are gathered at the ancient tiled floor. what do you have to do for that?? do i need all three of exploration and science? HELP!!
50 is the maximum number of totems you can get. And if I recall correctly, they stop getting the title of Esteemed Elder at 50 as well. It's just the way the game is programmed. There are no ways around it that I'm aware of.
The picture where they are all lined up on the mosaic floor is something that was posed by someone. They just put the villagers all in the same clothes and then lined them up while the game was on pause. There are no special activities that cause what's happening in that picture.
For the puzzle with the sewing hut: no foundation appeared...! What can I do?!? Help please! Am I missing something? I have level 2 in culture and some other things but I would only need culture , right?
I have built three huts that support population, but when I try to get over 40 people it says I have reached my max population. Is that because I'm using the iPod touch or is there A problem with my game? Thank for the help!
Yes, the sewing hut foundation should appear at level 2 culture. It's located at the very bottom of the screen. Try exiting the game and restarting.
ok the cauldron thing is kinda messed up. My villager dropped their cauldron too, and the only way i was able to get it back was to just forget about it. Just go on with your work and after each accomplishment and tech upgrade you complete check to see if it is back in the woodpile.
how do i make the stews? i've been reading the comments here... and i'm very much confused about this "STEWS".
help plz.. anyone?
You can find information about stews in the walkthrough section located at the top of this page. Look for Puzzle #9.
Why won't my people make babies? They go in the hut all the time and do it. Still no babies. Why are they infertile?
If you drop the girl on the guy or vice versa about three or four times in a row without letting them go into the hut, they will have a baby. They won't even go into the hut. She will just suddenly have a baby.
Your villagers aren't necessarily infertile. First, make sure the females are under age 50. If so, they will be able to have babies. Depending on where you are in the game, it's sometimes harder to have a baby. Like Boopbug said, just drop them on each other over and over until either the female is carrying a baby or you see the population counter increase. Sometimes you have to do it even a dozen times, but they'll have a baby eventually! :)
Please help. The lake has been contaminated by algae. I have harvested all the coconuts, and I can't figure out how to get the crops going. I ran out of food!
Check the walkthrough located at the top of this page. Here are some tips to get you started.
Build a dam to divert water so you can plant crops (puzzle #2).
Birds will start eating your crops, so you'll need a scarecrow (puzzle #3).
Hi, I am playing on the ipod touch. I am at the 40 max of people.
What age do they die?
And is there a way for me to kill off some of them?
Villagers can die at any age, depending on their health and the success of the tribe. They usually live into their 60s if they are in good health and it's early in the game. Once the healthy puzzles are solved, they can live into their 70s and beyond.
I'm not aware of anything you can do to kill them off. That wouldn't really be a good idea anyway because each villager is valuable in one way or another.
Fellow Benevolent Caretakers,
I'm making stew, but it seems haphazzard, with 6 different herbs in three parts that leaves 216 possible combinations. Is there any logic to how they are put together, or should I just start a list and catalogue the results. second day with this game and first one of its kind, very fun.
We already have a list of all the stews at the start of the walkthrough section located at the top of the comments. :)
How do you uncover the tile floor thing below the crop field?
To Mrs. Cullen:
Check the walkthrough located at the top of this page. The one you need is puzzle #10.
what's up with the laundry? Does this build any kind of skill? I don't get it. They just seem to do it at random.
Doing the laundry is just a random activity like getting a drink or doing exercise. It doesn't build any skill.
I have vv2 lite for iphone and am doing farely well with it. If I upgrade to the full version will I lose all my progress?
Yes, I lost my progress when I upgraded. It actually just installs a new app on your phone.
is it possible to have two babies on one mother at the same time? i think i did it because it says 6 population and 4 people with one mother carrying a baby and it looks like there is 2 of them.
Yes, it's possible to have two babies on one mother. It's called twins. :D
After I have built the dam and started farming the irrigated land, can I start paying less attention to the game? It seemed like at first there was a bit of a rush to research and build the dam before they run out out of pre-algae fish and coconuts. Are there any more time-critical events that the villagers' surivival depends on, or can I just continue at my own pace from now on? I would not like it if the irrigated land is about to go bad in 50 more hours and all my villagers will die because I wasn't doing X fast enough, etc..
Is the amount of food that shows up from the irrigated land dependent on how much they water and plant, or is it a fixed amount? If it is the former, is there a top limit to the amount of food (i.e. is there a maximum population size I can support with the farmed land?)
In answer to your questions -
The crops are a renewal food source, which is good. However, it's not quite enough for a growing tribe. Your tribe won't be completely settled until you are able to get back to fishing, which is an unlimited food source once the algae has been taken care of.
The amount of food that appears from harvesting the crops is a set amount no matter how much or how little your villagers tend the crops. They do, however, gain farming experience from watering and planting. There's not really a max amount you can support and the amount of food harvested will vary depending on how many villagers you have.
Thanks, Pam! So, are you saying:
...that the amount of food I'm getting will always be slightly less than the amount that I need to support the tribe? (e.g. if each villager eats ~100 food a year I will only get ~80 food a year per person from the farm?) Do I need to dump all my people back on research to get whatever tech it is I need to clear the algae before my food supply whittles down to nothing, or can I take my time clearing the thorns and letting them work on whatever they want to work on? I feel bad being a slave driver and forcing everybody to work in the lab :)
That's basically the gist of it. Each time I play this game, the villagers stress out over food until I have the fishing restored. When food supplies get low, they stop working and just walk around "worried about food" even if they don't actually starve. Unless you just want a continued challenge in making sure you can farm enough food, I'd suggest you secure the food supply before moving to the other projects. Besides, you're not being a slave driver to make them work in the lab. That's the easiest job! :)
The Sewing hut won't appear! I have quit off and went on many times, but the sewing hut foundation won't appear! What is going on?
I like the game, but it is taking forever to get tech points. I have enough to get one of the skill things (farming, engineering, science, etc.) but I was wondering which one would be the best to buy (the most worth the time waiting for tech points.) if you could help that would be AMAZING! I do love the game, its just hard to get those darn points.
The sewing hut foundation is supposed to appear after you have purchased level 2 Culture, according to the walkthrough at the top of this page. I'll have to play through the game again to confirm this.
About spending your tech points -
It's always a good strategy to secure an unlimited food source for your village as food and shelter are key to survival. With that in mind, you could purchase level 2 Farming, which would open the next food source.
I only gave you minimal information so you can work the puzzles on your own, but if you need more help, please just ask! :)
I found the last piece of the gong but accidentally touched the guy that was carrying it and lost it! Does anyone know how to get it back? I can't find it anywhere.
If you close the game and re-open it, you should be able to solve that puzzle again from the beginning. It should just re-set when it gets interrupted.
The villager dropped the gong peice, now what?
I got the gong peice that was underwater, and after she jumped in, right away i went and got the totem and put it where it belonged. Then I got the gong peice from under the totem. As the girl who got the one from underneath the totem was walking, the guy who got the one underwater had put up the gong on the holder, so the girl dropped the one she had, to go celebrate.
Definately don't want to start over, so what do i do?
Is three the maximum hunts you can build other than the sewing hut and hospital after completing all the puzzles and collecting all of the technologies?
Is there an automatic task (like the research table or fishing) that you can set villagers on to increase their Builder skill when there are no more foundations/vines to work on? It looks like I can manually drag them onto an existing hut to have them examine/fix it, which helps get them from untrained to trainee builder, but they only do it once, and then have to manually dragged onto the hut again, which makes it completely impractical to make Master Builders with, since you can't set them on the task and turn the game off and come back later.
If you exit the game and restart it, you should be able to retrieve the gong piece again. The puzzle will reset itself.
Yes, three living huts is the maximum.
You're already on the right track with repairing huts. The villagers are more stubborn with this activity and you have to get them to start it often, but eventually they will do it on their own and make it to Master status.
Hi, Pam - to me it seems like I can't get a villager to examine and repair a hut indefinitely (except for the very first one, when you start the game - the hut next to the wood pile needs to be fixed, and that is a task the villagers will stick with). I am playing the iPhone version - I wonder if that matters.
Looks like I need to unlock more tech to unlock more building foundations to get more master builders :( I want more totems!
[Edit: It may be different on the iPhone version. That could be the problem. -Pam]
I finally got my 1st elder, my mosaic is uncovered, but when I put the totem in the middle nothing happens. Where is the gong? What do I do?
[Edit: This is a known bug that has been long fixed in current versions of the game. You need to download it again from the site where you originally purchased the game. -Pam]
I just started this game and have 9 people, but I cant get the women pregnant. They "go indoors" but they dont get pregnant. Now I dont have any kids to pick up things. What am I doing wrong?
You just need to keep after them. You can drop them over and over without waiting to "go indoors" until you see a baby or the population counter increases.
What is max population? 40 or 90?
The max population for the regular game is 90, but I believe the mobile version is 40.
I don't understand. My adept farmer went to the twigs, and it just said it is unclear what the villager needs to do .
Make sure you're dropping your farmer on the right spot. It's above and a little to the right of the science lab. Here's a screenshot that may help you:
I keep breeding my villagers but all I keep having is boys... is there any way to make sure my villagers have both girls and boys? All my women are getting older and I'm afraid they will die and I will be stuck with all boys and my village will die out! help please! Thank you.
The gender of the children is random. Your best bet is to just keep having babies until a girl shows up. If it really does get down to nothing but boys -
sometimes a barrel of babies will show up as a random island even and there will probably be a girl or two.
Okay so what happens if your retrieving the cauldron when another milestone is being achieved and then the cauldron disappears. I can't complete the game without it, so am I screwed and have to start all over or will appear again later on?
How to I clear up algae? I use an iTouch.
The cauldron will reappear. Close your game and restart it.
There are a lot of puzzles to solve before you can clear up algae. I suggest you look at our walkthrough at the top of this page for assistance. :)
I've researched all the Tech and completed all the puzzles except the last one,
I dropped a totem in the center of the completed mosaic and dragged a villager onto it but nohing happened. I've tried with 3 different totems but I can't retrieve the last gong piece. Am I doing something wrong?
[Edit: What you describe is a known bug that has been corrected for quite awhile with more current versions of the game. You should go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download the current version. -Pam]
Hi everyone. Can anyone help? I don't know how to irrigate the soil.
I have the game on pause so they don't die.
Check the walkthrough section located at the top of this page. Look for the solution to puzzles #2 and #3.
okay so i made a harmful stew. but how do i get rid of it so i can make a better one????
um i have a population of 10 and to begin with only 2 were girls...to start a second generation cousins r goin to have to go "indoors" does it let me do this???
How do you uncover the moisaic/ancient place? I have tried dragging my builder to the cutting tools and she won't pick them up. I have level 2 of engineering, farming and exploration.
The stew will go away on its own. Or you can close the game and restart.
Any male and female will be able to have babies. The game doesn't recognize family ties.
Check the walkthrough located at the top of this page for help with the mosaic. It's puzzle #10. It doesn't require cutting tools.
Can you get more then 40 people when you get all of the things on the floor in the ipod
where is the purple herb you talk about in the walkthrough
The purple herb is in the upper right corner at the very top. Here is a screenshot that may help you find it:
How do I clean the algae? I bought level 3 farming and put my master scientist in the ocean but nothing happened. What do I do?
You can check the walkthrough section located at the top of this page for more information, but -
You have to drop them in the lagoon to get the algae eating fish. It takes a lot of trips to the ocean to get it clear.
what does it mean that someone has been doing magic?
I have a population of 21, 80,300 tech points and 4000 food and now my villagers refuse to do anything, I have taken them to the water so they can fish and it says they are unsure of what they are supposed to do, i take them to the research table and i come back a few minutes later and they are relaxing by the beach and I have no new tech points.
Is there a way to make them work without me having to come back to check on them every few minutes?
I haven't seen anything about them doing magic. Can you be more specific?
Make sure you have a preference checked on the details screen. That will help them stay on task.
Thanks, i forgot to check there. It turns out i had selected other skills than the one i was trying to teach them. *headdesk* It is the smart people like you that help people like me with all of the addictive computer games *lol*
Also, In my tribe, many of my people died, I only have 1 female old enough to breed and she is a master in 2 skills and adept in another.is it true that if you mate a person that is a master in any of the five skills, there is a chance that the child may have some of that skill?
What's going on with my kids? I've been playing on my iTouch but recently purchased the game for my PC. A good three out of five of the "collectibles" and the mushrooms harvested will vanish from my kids' hands because they run into things. I just found a Rare butterfly, the kid picked it up and ran INTO the research building (as in, crashed into it not entered it), he vibrated rapidly for a second, and then his status changed to "nothing" and the butterfly vanished. This happens frequently. They run into an adult, into the bonfire, into a hut and then do this rapid vibrate motion and then POOF the thing they're carrying is gone. That never happens on my iTouch. Any ideas?
That happens to me frequently, where the villager will be carrying wood/grass for the fire and they run into a coconut tree or the hut and drop their item. It has never happened to any of my children carrying collectibles though. Does anyone else have insight on this?
I'm glad I could help. :)
It's true that children can inherit some of their parents skills, but they usually get only a unit or two of experience. It seems to happen a little later in the game.
To Taco and Daniel:
I've been playing this game a long time and I've never seen or heard of an adult or a child run into an object, vibrate, and then drop what he/she is carrying. That is very strange indeed. My best suggestion would be to go back to the site where you originally purchased the game and download it again. It should save on top of your existing game and you shouldn't lose any progress.
Ok hello everyone. I have read through the questions and answers to not having the sewing hut show up. But I have restarted my ipod and it never showed up. I don't know what else to do. I have purchased level 2 in culture. Someone please help.
I have all of the tech upgrades and plenty of everything else, but when I came back today, all of my people/women were dead! The last girl is 70 years old and I only have 60-75 year old boys! What can I do to not lose everything I've done so far?
After which tech do you get the cauldron?
