Live Puzzle is a jigsaw game by Pipkin Games that presents players with a fun set of animated pictures to reconstruct, with subjects ranging from fish, to spirals, to planets, to cards. The animation is clearly a gimmick, but a cool one, and the developers definitely put thought into how different puzzles would be solved in different and interesting ways.
Which sounds worse: tennis or clowns? Ha, trick question! They're both equally creepy in their own way! 10tons totally gets that, which is why the team that brought us the physics puzzle game Tennis in the Face has released the follow-up Clowns in the Face. The Naked Alien is an action platformer by Lucas Paakh that offers players a quirky encounter of the nude kind, as its titular being sets out to map uncharted territory. It's a little by-the-numbers, but The Naked Alien is strangely amusing, and definitely showcases the developers prodigious artistic talents.

We all have moments when we feel the need to escape, that's why the room escape genre is one of the most popular on the internet. That's why, in this week's Vault, we're featuring four clever escape games that contain all we love about escapes, including all the features that make being locked up in a strange room desperate to escape such an enjoyable pastime.
You're bored kid with a box cutter in a room full of boxes. Ready for rainy day crafts time? Turn the boxes into shapes by clicking a point outside the box then drawing a line all the way across it to cut off that piece. You're limited to specific types of cuts and, as the shapes get much more complicated over 30 levels, creating them with 100% similarity becomes quite tough. Slice the Box is great way to while away time in a relaxing, creative endeavor.
Guide the yellow ninja on a quest through 20 riddling rooms in this simply tricky puzzle platform game from Tom "Ninjadoodle" Vencel. It boils down to doing one thing twenty times: press the big red button so you can reach the key and unlock the door. Yet doing that means hopping, pushing, avoiding, and jumping through all manners of hoops to make it happen.
You're in a room with a beautiful view of the horizon. An Escape from the Scenic Room might be the last thing you're interested in doing, but in Tesshi-e's latest escape game of the same name, that's exactly what you're tasked with. The bouncy accordion music somehow fits the atmosphere quite well, the visuals are realistic but not overwhelmingly so, and the puzzles are well-designed and flow perfectly.
He may be locked in, but this is one kitty that won't be caged for long! Help a kitten break out of his carrier and get some sweet, sweet noms in this short but gorgeously stylish and funny escape game from French creator Sylviepouletpoulet.
Mary loves Jim, but her family doesn't. When these two lovebirds decide to run away together, they'll need to puzzle their way through a series of platforming levels filled with tricks, traps, spikes, switches, and even Mary's own overprotective family in order to be together. A familiar concept, but one done with style and charm.
RedWhite Slice is a short action puzzle that's a mix of Fat Slice and JezzBall, whose strength is in its level design and aesthetics. It's not very long or difficult, but at about ten minutes of tidy design, it's a great way to spend a coffee break.
It's a good-natured game of turf wars as you clear the board of all but the last monster standing. Simply roll an adjacent monster into another monster to push him off, continuing the process until all but one remains. Over time, the set-ups are more complicated requiring strategy and planning to complete.
Pink is nice, but spikes? Not so much. Paint all other colours pink in this gravity-defying platformer, but avoid getting impaled! A simple idea that will challenge your reflexes and brighten your day in the space of a coffee break with its bouncy design.
The doorknob is broken, so you're stuck in your apartment. Maybe, if you can get him to cooperate, your Neighbor can help? Point-and-click around the room, looking for a creative means to earn his assistance, solving puzzles and decoding codes. Red herrings might lead you astray while the comical style and Robamimi's affable charm makes you feel part of the jocosity, not only as a good neighbor, but as a welcome friend.
A kingdom stands poised to be torn apart as two of its would-be champions can't agree on a course of action... which is where you come in. In Axis Games' action-RPG adventure, choose a side and develop your character to be the hero the land needs and strike down all those who would come against you. Preferably with fireballs.
In Must Escape the Museum, you play a child who's fallen asleep in a museum bathroom and wakes up after everyone is gone. Can you find your way out before your parents start to worry?
Stack Overload is a mobile puzzle game from Bonus Level that feels like a cross between WarGames: WOPR and a memory game. It's your job to crash a series of increasingly complex programs by causing memory overloads one block at a time. This isn't as complicated as it sounds, as all you have to do is match pairs of tiles by turning them over one at a time. Overload the stack and you'll move on to the next level!

Sounds fairly ordinary until you factor in the fact that you're going a bit mad from the chill, and many things you think you see don't make much sense at all. There's just one thing on your mind: go west.
Your space station has been overrun by human eating aliens out for an easy meal. Don't become their easy meal! Use zero gravity to your benefit by jumping around and outwitting not only aliens, but the dangerous buzzsaws and lasers as well. In this puzzle platform game by Gamezhero, test your platforming mettle and reach freedom in twenty five fun filled levels.
Who says fire and water can't mix? Our two elemental protagonists probably shouldn't hug, but together they make for yet another challenging installment in the much-loved puzzle platforming series that blends speed and brains! With portals thrown into the mix, taking top rank and nabbing all the gems will be harder than ever, but you'll love every minute of it.
Hottategoya puts you in the middle of a maze and asks that you not only find your way through it to the exit, you must make sense of your comings-and-goings and open three locked safes before you can leave. Thus, navigating the layout more a challenge than the puzzles themselves. Yet the concrete feeling of success when you reach the end makes this escape-the-room game rather amazing (it had to be said!)
Tim Schafer's got problems, in that he has to host this year's Game Developer Conference again, but the one person who needs to believe he's actually Tim Schafer, remains unconvinced of his Schaferlyness. In this short but surreally silly and funny adventure from Double Fine, you'll need to get a beard, a shirt, and some gags to assemble the most Shchafer-esque visage possible from the most ridiculous means possible.
Mygames888 sashays down the escape-the-room game runway with a smartly cohesive design, a clever array of puzzles and a looks that's as tasty as frosting on a raspberry layer cake. Although there is no changing cursor, navigation and exploration are usually intuitive but do require thinking outside the overtly seen. A bit of inference and curiosity to guide your explorations, questioning newly opened possibilities, you'll find your way out with the exit key in hand and a suave feeling of accomplishment to bask in.
This party is hopping, but it's hard to enjoy it when someone wants you dead, and everyone is strange enough to be a suspect. Created in just seven days, this simple but uniquely stylish little puzzler has you asking questions of 24 monsters to figure out who's trying to kill you before they get to you first. That's... an extreme sort of party game. Couldn't you have just played charades?
Barbarium, created by Hypnohustler, is a retro action platformer set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With your sword and lasergun combo (really, the best combo there is) you set off to rescue babes, drink beer and restore a little order to this crazy world.

But they're back in Strike Force Heroes 2, the action arena shooter sequel that's everything the fans of the original could have hoped for. Though confined by typical concerns of its genre, it build on its predecessors strengths, delivering furious action and beautiful set pieces.
A body found in the trunk of a crashed car leads you on a chase for clues and a killer with old motives all over town... as well as attracting the attention of the FBI. The latest installment in Pastel Games' point-and-click noir mystery series ups the body count and provides a solid detective adventure, minus a few bumps along the way.
Survival is the name of the game in Deep Space Dash, an avoidance game meets bullet hell. As your ship tries to kill you, use your dash ability to run away from hundreds of projectiles and to become temporarily invincible. Gather power-ups to help you last for 60 seconds in order to pass the level. Buy helmets in the shop to up your stats so you can unlock even more levels and gain achievements.
TomaTea waves a magic wand of imagination over this escape-the-room game filled with child like joy and curiosity. Not only do you have to explore the room, looking for hints and items that will help you decode locks and open doors, but you also get to peek inside and poke around a lovely dolly's house. Herein are the features you love to find in a TomaTea game such as the glowing cursor and "I have no clue" guideposts, plus the delightful magic of playing house.
Bear and elephant are true friends. Yet, in the darkness of one night, elephant goes missing and now bear's on a quest to find him. You go along for the adventure, solving puzzles and completing minigames, helping numerous winsome characters with their own sets of problems, so cat can progress. With its distinct Machinarium vibe, whimsical charcoal sketch art, and Yann Tiersen-like music, Searching for the Elephant is truly a happy find.
Although you've been asked this question before, there are more ways to distinguish the differences between two seemingly alike spheres. That's why this pleasantly straight-forward puzzle game from Yoshio Ishii is so good to play. Throughout twenty levels, you'll decide which of the two circles before you has the requested quality. At times obvious, other times needing lateral conclusions or outside knowledge, More Which? is just challenging enough to be gratifying.
If you've ever played with a bottle of oil and water, you already understand the basic mechanic of Liquid 2, a friendly (and occasionally psychedelic) little physics game from OneGoodGame. This week, we join new weekly columnist, Tricky, as we feature some wonderful puzzles, adventure, and action from the JayIsGames archives, in this week's Vault!
At first, it's rather easy. You have a game panel of a few colored squares and, using color affecting tiles, your objective is to change your panel to match that of the target. Then it gets progressively more difficult. Challenging puzzles plus chill music, though, always makes a good match for a game break anytime.
The orange is back and trickier than ever in this pack of all new levels for Tommycred's physics puzzler. Using ropes, gravity, and a variety of mouse-driven pulleys, switches, cranks and more, get your orange to nab each lemon on the stage and then safely to the exit. It's harder than you might think.
The setup's a tried-and-true one, and one many can sympathize with: the protagonist is worn out from days of work, and is invited by a friend to a quiet room. It's a masterpiece of escape, with soothing guitar music, photorealistic graphics, and puzzles that make sense if you think about them just right. Come, escape the chaos of your day for a little while thanks to Tesshi-e.
The underworld stinks, mostly because all the demons do, and it's your job to clean them all up in this ghoulishly endearing physics puzzler. Using a special ragdoll cannon, not to mention dolls with unique abilities, fire and knock each demon into the boiling cauldron to make them squeaky clean, but with new puzzle elements piled on throughout the game, it's harder (and more fun) than you might think.
Adrift is a stylish logic puzzle game from Tack Mobile. It follows the gameplay outline of classic browser games such as Hyper Frame and 3D Logic II, eliminating the rotating cube in favor of a fixed isometric viewpoint, simple touch controls, and a sweet-as-candy visual presentation. Don't think that just because you only have three sides of a cube to worry about that things are going to be any easier to solve, however!
Give Up is a high-difficulty action-platformer by jmtb02 and Tasselfoot, that, little by little, will try to drive you to surrender, though a quite entertaining one. Give Up should appeal most to that strain of gamer who loves the thrill of balancing hundreds of failures against the thrill of a sudden success, but its humor should make everyone want to give it a try.
Once upon a time there were three little cats that had a bad tendency to get stuck in rooms. Now they've found themselves in the roles of Little Red Riding Hood and they need to escape the room before the Wolf wakes up and decides to make a meal out of them. With your help surely they'll succeed! You don't need big eyes, big teeth, or big ears to play this but you do need a healthy dose of clever thinking.

It's up to you, a professor of xenolinguistices, to translate the text and unlock alien mysteries, in Stranger Than Fiction by Stuart Madafiglio. A puzzle rumination on life, the universe, and everything, the game's cryptogram challenges are rather on the easy side, but overall it is a meditative, original, and quietly satisfying peak into another world.
This surreal barbershop setting is absolutely fitting for an escape game by Detarou, the designer known for zany performances and hair-raising weirdness. Cut down the strange and you'll find the very basics of a great escape game here: a full treatment of formidable yet logical puzzles with multiple interactive areas to explore and three endings to discover. Ready for a new look? Try the Detarou style.
Minesweeper is the kind of game everyone's played at least once in their life. Or 57 times simply because, hey, it's there. When you combine zombies and the very familiar logic puzzle you get Zombie Minesweeper, a game from Frogtoss Games that is exactly what it sounds like: minesweeper with zombies chasing after you. Your job is to carefully move across the minefield, planting flags to mark dangerous tiles while you aim for the detonator at the end. Reach it and it won't be your brains splattered across the place.
Within this puzzle platform game is a simple concept that layers on the challenges to your agility and spatial reasoning as you delve deeper within thoughts of doubt and regret. Using [WAD] or arrow keys to move, and [E] to interact with elements, you must manipulate gravity, deactivate laser beams and follow off stage routes until you reach the red door. You are a cute kitty, trapped in a not-so-cute dungeon. You can escape, but there are rules you'll need to follow in Niliter Game's puzzle platformer, Cat Walk Once. Though the Japanese text is untranslated, Cat Walk Once has the retro charm and clever level design of the most classic Gameboy puzzlers, and it's something that will definitely be played much more than once.

Snake gameplay is as familiar as it is difficult to mess up, but this is a very soothing and fun interpretation.

The protagonist of Pipikin Games' new arcade puzzler, Crazy Digger, seems to be able to eat all the gem and dirt he wants, and not gain a pound. Oh well, at least on this side of the screen there's less danger from chomping green things or cascading boulders. A simple and addictive time-waster in the Boulder Dash vein, if one with background music most will quickly mute.
