It's important to realize that aliens doesn't necessarily equal a creature that will be faced down by Will Smith. It's also important to know that Will Smith may not be the one who can fight off an alien invasion, even if he is looking sharp in a nice suit. In Symbiosis this possibility has come real and the defenders of the world are none other than plants that need you to properly position them so they can attack crystal aliens bent on the destruction of our world. Peppered with plenty of upgrades to take advantage of those aliens will be poorly prepared for the fight the plants are going to bring.

Hexage, creator of Evac and Everlands, pits your human military prowess against endless alien swarm in this mobile tower defense game, Radiant Defense. Defense of your spiral reactor (which looks oddly like a stove burner) is the number one priority since it keeps out those pesky invaders from, you know, destroying all humans. Radiant Defense definitely keeps elements that you would always expect from the tower defense genre, but you remove the predetermined path and get the ability to create the path they will follow to their doom (hopefully). Lasers will fly, aliens will die, and the entire time your fingers will be nimbly working to hold off a rather comically bad invasion story unfold.

FrozenFire and Jon Sandness are back with a spookified expansion pack to their popular Symphonic Tower Defense. Once again it is time for the master conductor to dust the cobwebs from his baton and take a stand against the awesome power of awesome music in Symphonic Tower Defense Halloween. While the soundtrack is a tad more scary and the aesthetics a bit more orangey, gameplay pretty much the same as the previous installment. Tower Defense games have cast you in many different roles as protector. Symphonic Tower Defense, the new music game by FrozenFire and Jon Sadness, however, is the first time that a band conductor has been tasked with guarding against nigh-unstoppable attack. I suppose it's justified though, as this time it's music itself that's out of control. And should it escape, terrible unspecified things will happen to us all. Get ready to take some notes and make your enemies treble with bass fear, as you orchestrate the sharpest defense possible! While a few hopefully-soon-to-be-fixed programming glitches make it a little discordant, overall Symphonic Tower Defense has a nice beat that's easy to dance to.

Atom Zombie Smasher is a game about zombies. It is not, however, your typical game about zombies. Where other games about zombies might have you playing as the heroic survivor who somehow escaped infection via genetic anomaly or dumb luck, Blendo Games' latest release does not. Instead, this ridiculously innovative tower defense-like real-time strategy game will put you in the role of faceless commander charged with the evacuation of his fellow citizens. This time, you get to be the one who orders the orbital nukes!
Addictive, intense and unforgiving, Shattered Colony: The Survivors is a tower defense game from Jonathan Duerig doesn't really fit the normal definitions of the genre. Your only protection against the zombie apocalypse is a rag-tag group of survivors with limited expertise and supplies. How long can you last, and will the choices you make be the ones that keep you alive, or bring about an untimely end?
In the battle between man and machine, what side will you take? You are a human who has volunteered to be "digitized" in an effort to bring a halt to the rogue AIs that are plaguing cyberspace. Bunny Flags effortlessly combines tower defense, fort survival and arena shooting—three of the most popular themes in the defense genre—into one hell of a slick, addicting little game. You play the role of "White Rabbit," a long-eared, short-tempered combat bunny who—for whatever reason—is under constant siege by a variety of mean-tempered thumbs (and the occasional hand).

The Bloons Tower Defense games are some of the most popular ever featured on this site. Ninjakiwi has come up with an expansion pack that is fun, challenging, intriguing, frustrating (in places), and guaranteed to suck you right back into the world of the Bloons (just when you thought you were out). Will this tide us over until Bloons Tower Defense 5 comes out? Maybe, maybe not. But it's definitely worth checking out, if only for the amusement of finding the super secret surprise.
Bubble Tanks Tower Defense 1.5 is a rollicking good time. If you liked Bubble Tanks Tower Defense the first time around, then brace yourself for hours and hours of more entertainment and destruction, enough to keep you busy as you wait for a full-blown sequel.
The fourth entry in the series is finally here: Protector IV. It may not be imaginatively named, but Protector IV expands on the solid, medieval fantasy themed tower defense we've come to expect from the series with even greater customization and exploration, not to mention a huge variety of quests, levels and classes.
