Monkey Island

monkeyisland.jpgPatrickNot to be confused with the classic adventure game, Monkey Island is an action-puzzler involving a monkey and not one but several islands. The game's controls are easy: just roll the mouse to change the direction the monkey faces, click to jump, and hold for a longer jump. Hop from island to island collecting bananas in this simple yet refreshing title.

Getting from island to island can be tricky, which is why a zoom button at the bottom corner of the screen is there. Click it for a quick aerial view of the stage so you can scope out the scenery.

The levels scale up with some variations, such as moving islands, shrinking/growing platforms, and ice islands. You'll also come across coconut and pineapple point bonuses. The gameplay can get a bit frustrating due to the lack of an ability to turn in mid-air. Slip-ups like that can quickly lead to a game over, but fortunately the game is so bouncy and happy you won't feel like breaking your mouse.

Overall, a good way to spend fifteen minutes.

Aww cute little game. Annoying that the instructions are in japanese or whatever but easy to pick up

very much like:
in gameplay and graphics

What? No Insult Duels? Oh well, this looks like a good game on its own. It doesn't take much getting used to, until the moving islands whisk themselves out from underneath you as you jump.

Yes, I agree, Wouter. In fact, I mentioned that to Patrick and we should have included a mention of Rotobo in the review.

I've changed your link to point to our Rotobo review instead. :)

Site down already? Well there's a crappy server.

It must have been only a temporary glitch, Tiberius. The site appears to be responding now.

Jay your link to the adventure game monkey island just leads back to this game, not to the review of the original game...

This was kind of confusing at first, but then i got how to do it and then it was cool, but frustrating when they moved and you thought that you were on the platform

Llamas In Distress> Tricky Llamas In Distress (AKA Vertigo: Gravity Llama 2) is a physics-platform game by Jindo where everyone's favorite form of camelid will be flipping all over the place to find his friends and stop the drama.
