Last Call for poker everybody

Last Call PokerThe chips were reset for the last time today and it looks like Last Call Poker is making its last call in keeping with its namesake. I will be sad to see it go as it was a brilliant game with a great community.

It was a fun place to hang out and chat whilst playing an exceptional multiplayer Texas Hold'em implementation. The Top Players leader board offered multiple ways to participate and compete for the top spots in several categories. Weekly tournaments rewarded those lucky enough to win the most chips before they were reset. Weekly live events in cemetaries around the country provided players a fun way to meet-up in person and play Tombstone Hold'em, a variant of Texas Hold'em in which actual tombstones are sought-out for pocket cards. And a rich and mysterious storyline provided ARG fans with fodder for their skills.

The resets changed the scenery at the site and the poker tables, as well as the appearance of each and every avatar. Those changes alone provided an early signal that this good thing would not last. And now, it's Last Call at the poker tables everyone.

Kudos to 42 Entertainment and, in particular, Jane McGonigal for the phenomenal experiences being created in the area of immersive and pervasive play.

Wait, does this mean it's going away? As in we won't be able to play it anymore? Waah!

Is Jospeh right? They could just leave the game the same way they did with cry_wolf!! it'll be a shame to see a great poker game go to waste!!! Theren't arent many out there!

Cry_wolf is still playable.. im playing it right now.

The poker is still up, but there are some problems with the site. Seems to be fixed by clearing your cookies and cache.

First, the site isn't going away. The storyline is complete, and is summarized in "The Muck".

Second, there are no more chip resets. You can now play as much as you can stand and get another 10,000 chips just by asking for it.

Third, if you want to see how the whole thing finished out, check out the footage that was grabbed. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13163

Lastly, keep an eye out for any up-and-coming games by hitting up Unfiction. Or ARGN. Or DeadDrop. Or anywhere else that comes up on a Google search for "Alternate Reality Games".

It's a shame indeed; however, I suspected that after "Gun" (the game it was promoting) was released it wouldn't last too much longer. Ah well had some fun evening there, with Jay stealing a lot of my money, yes it was stealing!

"stealing"??! Betting is always a choice, one simply needs to know when to hold'em and when to fold'em. ;)

Cheers! =)

As of right now, the Poker tables are still open!
